I stayed the night in a single room. The location is fantastic - it's within the cathedral walls. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and safe, and the included breakfast was a nice touch. I left my window open and woke up to singing birds, which was lovely. I'd happily stay here again and have already recommended it to other travellers. But do bear in mind that this is an older college dorm. Don't expect a hotel with modern luxuries. The accommodations are spartan but functional, and best suited to people who don't want much beyond a simple place to sleep. The toilet and shower were down the hallway. I arrived on a bicycle as part of a bike tour; I was not allowed to bring my bike into my room, but reception let me store it in a locked room on the main floor.

I loved being surprised by the included breakfast (I didn't realise that was part of my stay), but I was a bit disappointed that it was a typical English breakfast. It wasn't the healthiest meal or overly vegan-friendly, but they did make an effort to have at least a few vegan options. Check-out is early at 9:30 a.m., but there is storage to keep your bags for the day while you see the town.

The location is unmatched - walk out of the front door, and you’re looking at Salisbury Cathedral. The room was comfortable, and the bathroom and toilet, while separate and shared, were very close by, very clean, and well equipped. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and breakfast was great. Some of the other guests, who were there doing courses, were fascinating to talk to.

Nothing at all - just don’t think when you book that you’ll get a 5-star hotel experience (Salisbury has plenty of them if that’s your preference). It’s more like good quality student accommodation (because that’s pretty much what it is)

Delightfully located in the cathedral close, there is private parking and some of the rooms have views of the cathedral. Our room (402) was a splendidly large room with twin beds and windows on two sides, one overlooking the cathedral. There is a lift. Breakfast is served in a refectory with a wide range of hot and cold dishes on offer. Surprisingly, there is no issue with noise from the bells of the cathedral, because they only ring quietly on the quarters and we did not hear them at all at night. As others have said, the gates to the cathedral close are locked at 11pm but you can borrow a key if you think you might be out late. These reception desk seems to be manned all day and evening.

Nothing really! Would like to have stayed longer but it was booked up well in advance

The accommodation was in a stunningly lovely, historic part of town. It was wonderful to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area around the cathedral, I really had not expected this. The staff were lovely and my room, though fairly basic as I had expected in a student accommodation area, was spotless and the bed was just right for me. An outstanding breakfast too. I'm hoping to return very soon!

It's always nice to have an en suite but I was very happy with the facilities and having stayed at many sites using student accommodation, this was very much on a par - and in fact much better - than most.

Brilliant breakfast Saturday -- buffet. Sunday less good cos the fruit salad was only oranges or grapefruit and full English breakfast was less hot but still v substantial and varied. Incredibly quiet. My Room overlooked a daisy filled garden and a medieval building (not the cathedral but roughly same date -- maybe C14th. Wonderful location in cathedral close; v friendly proactive staff and good value for money. Most of the year a student residence for church music students so a bit quirky and DIY.

MY one bad experience was that my wet room shower (fortunately on ground floor) was partially blocked and slowly flooded bathroom and carpet next to bathroom door and, even when it finally drained away, the floor was uneven and a small part of flood remained. Receptionist came on Sunday morning (gold star) and personally cleaned out blockage and plumber was ordered to attend after my departure. But otherwise brilliant.

Breakfast in the cafeteria was excellent, beyond what I had expected. Full English breakfast items plus yogurts, cereals, croissants, fruit and more. Location is more than perfect in the best part of Salisbury right across from the cathedral. Staff were friendly and super helpful even when I called twice to make sure I was driving to the parking properly. The bed was comfy and the room clean & not too little. Bathroom was nice as well. Coffee & tea kettle in the room was nice.

I was lucky with cool weather because my room only had one small window. Got some cool air during the night but not much. A fan would be helpful.

Lovely location, directly in the close of the beautiful cathedral and fifteen minutes away from the railway station. It's actually a functional college so the atmosphere was studious and a bit old-timey, which made my stay feel quite special and precious. Breakfast was spectacular. Room was clean and practical. Staff was very helpful and friendly, be it at the reception or in the kitchen in the morning.

The window in my room didn't really close properly, so I had to get it stuck closed for the night, which worked but wasn't ideal. Nothing a bit of repairing can't fix though! Also it might be the time I took my showers (7am) but the pressure was reallyyyy low both times. One of the only cons that's probably due to the building itself is that you can hear a lot of what's going on in the rooms across the wall, and in the corridor (which includes the toilets and shower room).

High-quality, inexpensive room located directly across from Salisbury Cathedral. Easy to get to and we had a view out of window of the Cathedral! the rooms are nicely outfitted and within the college. The staff was superbly friendly and helpful. The room came with breakfast which was an extensive buffet of cooked and fresh food and pastries. the ensuite bathroom was fully equipped.

The lift was out but we were only told on our arrival. This wasn't a problem for us but might have been if someone with difficulty climbing stairs had arrived. We were given essentially the best room in the top floor so we have no actual complaints. Check out time is fairly early at 9:30 am but they will gladly let you store your bags before check in and after check out.

Lovely calm, simple room, up in the roof, with excellent bathroom and comfortable bed. Parking just outside the building, and we were able to leave the car so we could spend the morning in town the following day after checkout. Great to be able to nip in at lunchtime to use the facilities, too. First rate breakfast - good variety, high quality, well cooked. Cheerful staff. And perfect to be in the shadow of the cathedral, amongst all the Close buildings. Felt very special. Would like to return to spend a week on a course in the same room.

The view we paid extra for was a bit limited, but still the cathedral was clearly visible over the roof tops.

It was clean, beautifully adorned, centrally and conveniently located right across from the Cathedral. The staff was lovely and nd Hannah at reception was such a joy. The included breakfast was abundant, delicious and buffet style so you could go back for seconds. The room was cozy and quiet and though the toilet and shower were down the hall, I never found it to be bothersome. Checkout time is firm but they have an area where they can store your luggage in case you need more time in town. There is a chapel on the second floor and a library as well. It is a functioning college of theology after all yet I was able to access the facilities. I fell in love with the College itself and all the classes they offer to the public online. I couldn’t have had a more wonderful stay there in April of 2023!
