Location was lovely, fantastic views, shame we couldn't make the most of them outside, must be amazing in summer. Would definitely return. The bar was really lovely, filled with lively friendly people, making us right at home. They even serve my favourite lager - always a bonus.

The only one fault was that the heating and hot water didn't work... it was a cold night, so it was such a shame, and I'd booked the room with the jacuzzi bath, so we couldn't make use of this or have a shower in the morning. It was a great shame. We were advised of the fault, the manager came and advised us in our room, which was lovely of her, I just think we should've been offered a small discount, or a drink, or something to make up for this, as I didn't feel we got our money's worth due to this. This is the only reason I haven't given full marks, which I would love to do, as it was so nice, but being cold and not being able to wash in warm water was a real shame.

The room was clean and included tea and coffee making facilities and also a hairdryer. Location is rural but still on quite a busy road. Food in restaurant is all home cooked and waitresses are super friendly

Booked for 3 nights but bins weren't emptied or tea and coffee replenished and made to feel awkward asking at the bar for more. Had a few knocks on the head from the sloping ceiling as the room was up in the eaves

Really nice staff & the room and evening dinner were excellent.

Very noisy overnight & not sure what was causing it? possibly a Generator kicking in, but whatever it was it went in for a long time and then stopped and a couple of hours later started again. The other issue was the brightness of the Green emergency lighting, which for some reason was located ‘in’ the room itself and it was like a light on all night in the room. Real shame as it’s a great place to stay overall.

Very dog friendly pub and accomodation, in a convenient location for local attractions. Very clean and smart, nicely decorated rooms and bathrooms. Decent pub food. Good choice of beers, real ales and drinks. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good value accomodation.

2 flights of stairs to the bedrooms, means this is less than convenient for dog owners. Also the pub is on a fairly busy road used as a racetrack by some. No pavements, so dog walking is limited.

Lovely little room. Very clean. Great shower. Staff were very welcoming. The rooms were above the pub so we were able to get a drink in the lively bar before going up to our room. Parking was easy. Getting to the city centre took only 20 mins.

We found the single beds basic and bearable. Tbe duvet was very light. For my partner it was ok but I was a bit chilly at first. The angle of the sloping roof in the bathroom made it a squeeze to manoevre, but wasn't a major issue.

A short distance from the motorway, easy to find, though did feel we were into the middle of nowhere! A welcome as warm as the sunshine with helpful staff. Our room was spacious with natural light and a lovely countryside view. Unfortunately there was no chef so food was not available ,however the locals were more than happy to recommend places nearby. Happy to stay again .

Only two very slight issues, be careful when using the kettle as the edge of the tv may catch your head. Same for the bathroom to the side of the toilet with the sloping roof.

Lovely pub in lovely location. Unfortunately arrived little later than we hoped due to traffic. Restaurant not open so had to drive out to find somewhere to eat. Shown to room was able to come and go as we pleased. Small room but comfy

Tea/coffee facilities but no biscuits. Only 4 little pods of milk for 2 of us so no tea in morning. No chair in room so had to sit on bed. Fortunately i managed to shower in morning but after that water was freezing and my daughter couldn't shower nor my friend in another room. No one around to tell about problem.

We didn't have breakfast The location is beautiful and we liked the historical nature of the pub.

There is no shelf for toiletries in the shower or any hook for clothes/towels. Also, there is a shelf in room 7 with quite a sharp corner just beside the en suite door. As the room is very small, we kept bumping into it while moving between the en suite and the bed. An angled corner would be better.

It was a lovely location Every think in the was fine Only problem in there was the exit light in the room was to bright and found it difficult to sleep. My husband thought the bed wasn’t too comfortable. Other wise it was a lovely room.

It was a pretty place out in the country middle of nowhere And so peaceful area The food was so delicious too

Staff were extremely nice and helpful.

Area very sparse and little to do or visit. Went for a party locally and booked an additional night. IN THE PUB...NO breakfast and had to drive to a cafe....Food not served after 4:00pm on Sunday - no local restaurants, pub closed at 10:00pm Sunday night - no local bars open. Shame! Ate there Saturday afternoon and food was ok, shocked as it was a bit pricey considering it is a rural northern/midlands pub.
