Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel

Barry who checked me in was very welcoming and friendly, every Reception should have a Barry ,very lovely gentleman.

That my room which was very big and a beautiful big bed, did NOT have a Wardrobe not even a drawer for my underwear . There was a rack with 5 hangers for guests clothing , this rack is also where the iron & iron board hangs . I am sure you already know all this. The room is big enough for a Wardrobe. Come on Mercure. And another thing ...the Carpet in the dining and especially the Reception area need to be thrown out it has seen better days. You did ask me my views

Room plenty big enough for 2 adults and one 5 year old. Comfortable beds/nice fluffy towels. Ben was super helpful at breakfast time. Location was good for us as right near the splash park. Little one loved the sweets and ice cream in reception. Staff were very helpful.

Would have like some biscuits with the tea/coffee tray. Breakfast on the first morning went smoothly but the other two mornings we were waiting for hot food to be replenished, we did go at 9.15 a.m which seemed to be the same time as everyone else. Service charge in the bar, we didn’t even want ice or a glass so a bit much adding it for taking the top off a bottle.

The location of the hotel was lovely. The view from our room was absolutely beautiful.

On arrival at 16:00, went checking into the room, we were told our room wasn’t ready yet despite check in time of 15:00. We were told that the house keeping staff had done our room yet. Our room wasn’t ready until 17:00, which then put my partner and myself in a rush as we had a meal booked at 17:30. My other issue was the cleanliness of our room. I can only guess this could have been impacted by my first issue. On arrival the floor had fluff and dirt on it, the table and bed side table had a thick layer of dust, in the bathroom there was evidence of the previous guests left in the toilet, old used make up wipes left in the window seal of the bathroom and the shower was not clean overall.

Staff were friendly and helpful especially Barry. Hotel provided shampoo, conditioner and body wash which was a real treat. Room was spacious.

Housekeeping was very random and despite putting notices on our door to say Come In we often came back to find nothing had been done. We had to ask each day for items for the hospitality tray. Menu in restaurant for dinner was poor. Only a very limited choice and the menu did not change. Breakfast was fine but there was no marmalade for four mornings. Paddington would not have been happy!!

Great location on the seafront, a nice walk to the pier, i360 and also into the town. Staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful :) Lovely, clean room with everything we needed. The reception area when you first walk in is very fancy and instantly gives a luxury feel. Lovely all you can eat breakfast, the on the day price of £17.99 seemed a bit much but we paid £12 the night before and this seemed reasonable. We sat by the window and had a lovely view of the sea. We enjoyed a lovely drink in the bar which was a really nice place to sit and take in the sea views.

The was quite a lot of light coming in between the door and door frame and also around the curtains (think the curtains could have been a little wider to help this).

Upon arrival Monty, check us in he had a warm and inviting manner. It was smooth and effortless. We got fab surprise my room was up graded to a perfect sea view room, which was brilliant. A delightful personal touch was a good bottle of Rosa chilling in ice bucket, and a birthday card. Such a lovely way to start off my birthday celebrations. Room decor was delightful. The whole experience was truly memorable. Bar staff again warm and friendly we enjoyed our Sunday night drinks. Breakfast was yummy and staff helpful too. Overall a fantastic experience service was brilliant. Thank you again Monty & the team . We will definitely stay again 🤗🤗

No ice creams left in welcome reception area. Larger bedside space. Perhaps a sign to mind step in bathroom

Great staff and very friendly welcome. Our room was not ready on arrival so they gave us a complimentary drink. They also were happy to stop and help at any part of the day. Would come back and stay again.

The room was not cleaned to a high standard. The rooms have high ceilings, which leads to a lot of dust. There were several cobwebs hanging on the light fixture, ceiling, and even the wall art. The dust was not the only issue, there was a half-eaten cookie on one of the chairs, hair on the towels, and mud prints in the bathroom. My partner has severe dust allergies, but luckily it did not seem too much of a problem this time. I don't like taking a gamble on someone's health and I would have to say that it did not come close to "clean". At least the bed and sheets were fine.

The room size, and sea view was a fantastic location of the Hotel. The bed was one of the comfiest bed we have experienced in a Hotel.

Carpet had stain marks in several places. but mainly at the threshold of the entrance door to room.

We've now stayed a few times at the Mercure in Brighton and really like staying here.The main lobby is really impressive in terms of size decor and furnishings.The staff are really friendly and helpful especially on the front desk and in the restaurant and the breakfast is always very good....great to get a window table to watch the Brighton world go by on the promenade.The rooms without a sea view are not large but are well equipped and comfortable.The sea view rooms are really big and the views great

It was the Marathon weekend so very busy generally and the cost of the Saturday night was very high.On the Sunday we did have to wait a very long time for our evening meal in the restaurant as we were told that there was only one chef on duty....even though the restaurant was very quiet.Had we been told this when we booked the table we would probably have gone elsewhere.The food when it arrived was very good though.The car park is always a challenge and unless you have a small car even if there is a space getting into it and being able to get out of the car is really tricky....we had to park at Regency Square on arrival day even though there were a couple of spaces....just couldn't get into them without parking so close to the next car that they wouldn't have been able to get in or out

Right on the beach front and close walking distance to the town. I loved the decor of the property as well. I was unhappy with my first room and asked for a room change or an upgrade and the evening reception staff was so kind and upgraded me to a quieter area, bigger room and on the first floor. This made me feel incredibly safe for a lone female traveler.

I was first allocated to room No.400, the vents on the roof are extremely loud, the room didn’t feel clean and the corridor felt unstable to walk on. The lift was incredibly unsafe and small as well.
