The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui

The quiet atmosphere, the spacious bathroom area. The small treats that were delivered to our villa every night.

Lack of activities inside the resort, there is nothing to create a lovely atmosphere that would keep you in the property to enjoy. The restaurants inside the resort are limited, quite expensive. The breakfast buffet is average. Poor coffee, staff is unable to fulfill any orders on the spot, it would take them a while to bring your cup of coffee……. The sea front is narrow and dirty.

It´s a 5-star resort with exquisite service. The staff is fantastic. Everyone spoke good English and there is a client service all the time. I enjoyed the fantastic pool by the private beach. The gym was also excellent. I don´t eat in the morning but went to the breakfast area on the first day to take a look and honestly, that is food for an entire day. I am so sorry I didn´t have the time to experience the magnificent spa area and service. In-room orders were fast and food was good in all the resort areas. A great hotel where I expect to return soon. Top service!

The wide range of food for breakfast. I understand the luxury resort service but I don't understand that so much waste can be generated. People take food for the sake of it and without it being related to their real appetite. I hope the hotel has a program to reuse this food and if it works with the community and population of the island even better.

Great design and facilities. Amazing service. The Thai event is lovely. Definitely spend some time in the hotel and explore.

It is a little far from the center so take into consideration the transfer costs. The prices of the in hotel dining options are quite high yet they are good.

Having more reasonably priced restaurant on site would be great - we found the options limited and over priced The Ritz transport was great and convenient but it was a flat fee regardless of where we went. Perhaps having the choice of a local taxi would be good. Perhaps upgrade the paddle boards - no leg rope (safety - if you fall off, the board doesn't go far and you do not have to swim after it), fins missing (affects stability and direction)

I never write reviews for anything, but I HAD to for this. I decided to take a solo trip to Thailand to celebrate my 29th birthday. I booked the Ritz-Carlton for a treat for a few days and it was beyond expectations. I arrived to my room, and practically cried, it was such a beautiful room with a gorgeous view. The space, size, amenities were perfect. The staff did everything to make sure I was well looked after, there were buggys you could call to take you to the restaurant, pool etc, otherwise I would have gotten quite lost. The breakfast buffet was incredible, so much choice! On my birthday the staff made it so special, they created a set in my room with flowers, a hand written card. I then went to the view restaurant where the team also wrote happy birthday, and brought me a cake at the end of the meal. Another staff who I had spoken to a few times, surprised me again with some wonderful treats. It was very special, and I am truly grateful for how the staff went above and beyond to make it special for me. I will for certain be back!

I have no bad things to say!

I don't know where to start but by far the best property I've stayed at this year. My wife and I fell in love with the place on the very first day. It was so peaceful and the rooms were quite spacious. We had gone for our Anniversary and the hotel made it very special for us. Henry, went over and beyond to make us feel right at home. He helped us with most of our plans and reservations for dinner. The way the staff takes care of all your needs is something worth mentioning - Don't think we will be able to stay anywhere else next time we visit Koh Samui!

If I really had to mention something, it would be that I felt the cabs ordered through the hotel were slightly on the expensive side but in the grand scheme of things - I don't think one minds paying a little extra for the comfort and peace of mind

Perfect location and suite!

The 2 tv sets in the suite were rather outdated. Even with my own Chromecast, we could not view any programs (e.g. Netflix) that we wanted. For this standard, smart TV's should be available. We had a diner in the Park Tai restaurant. Beautiful setting, however it was very dark. So dark, that we used our telephones to look at the gorgeous dishes that were presented. A bit more lighting would make the experience perfect!

It was absolutely amazing! The rooms were pretty and large, the breakfast was good. The resort is full of activities, the pool, the spa, the gym, and more. I highly recommend having an Afternoon Tea experience that was just wonderful, with such kind and extraordinary personal service. The service is just unmatched. I would like to point out the great service of the entire staff, especially Jenny, Beam, AE, Maybee, Rina, Kevin the Sou Chef, Paolina, and also the Head Chef (which I lost his name card…) . All of them were great and gave us personal service, did absolutely everything to make our stay perfect. We will gladly return for a longer vacation.

The resort is very big and up on a hill, so you have to use a buggy to get around. Though I must say that the buggies are very comfortable and efficient so it is not a big issue as long as you aware. The beach isn’t so much nice so if you are looking for a beach it’s better to go out of the resort.

The hotel grounds are massive and well-kept. The rooms were big, spacious, with an open concept, yet everything could be closed for privacy. All the staff were phenomenal, without exception. Mr. Carl was amazing. He is everywhere all the time, and extremely on top of things. Mr. Omar was very polite and took good care of us. It is clear that there is an excellent chain of communication amongst staff, which really helps in tending to clients needs, and they did go above and beyond in every aspect. We used the company at the hotel (Oceana) to book a couple of trips, and all were really good. The spa village is massive and amazing.

There's nothing to dislike, but we would have preferred to have more activities within the hotel (around the beach and spa). The spa treatments and dining options were a bit high priced. Maybe that could be reconsidered. Also, it usually takes a lot of time for food to be served in the different restaurants that we've tried (average time from in to out is about 2 hours)
