Santiburi Koh Samui

The beach was amazing with possibility for long walks. Not all hotels in Koh Samui have such a nice beach - great sand and great for swimming and kids friendly. As one of the first luxury hotels on the island, the hotel is situated in one of the best parts of Koh Samui - incredible garden and beach. The beachfront villa was amazing and just next to the beach. It is the more expensive option, but I highly recommend it. The food at the beachfront restaurant was also excellent and there is a nice selection of fresh fish for lunch, but you can also reserve a fish for dinner. It is amazingly delicious, prepared whole, steamed using Thai herbs like ginger & lemongrass. The free ice-cream every day was much appreciated by our daughter. The hotel is also not far away from the Fisherman's village (nice restaurants and bars, marketplace every Friday evening) and not that far away from the Buddhist temples Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai) & Wat Plai Laem. You can order a taxi by Grab mobile app (similar to Uber) or a hotel car (a little bit more expensive). I highly recommend this hotel to both couples and families.

Beautiful relaxing beach surrounded by palm trees which give natural shadow. We had a villa with beach access. It was nice to make just few steps to go the beach. Great breakfast.

Very bad matelas. Super hard. We slept very bad every night. And even the matelas in baby cot of our child it was similar quality. You have an impression that you sleep on the wood. Really necessary to change

Definitely among the best resorts I've stayed at. Outstanding green territory and private beach, amazing huge pool (biggest I've seen in my Thailand travels so far), excellent service, and delicious dining at the beach restaurant. Breakfast was also great. Spa was excellent, we went for massages every day. Tennis courts and other activities available. Good distance to the airport and Samui attractions. We arrived for 2 days just to check it out and ended up staying for 7 days! Rooms-wise, I would certainly recommend a villa. (We spent some nights in both villa and non-villa, and villa wins, I would only return to the villa.)

The nearby village was not very interesting. Basically, not much to see within the walking distance outside the hotel

It’s position on the beach. The style of buildings and architecture. How it all blends into the local flora. Very restful and peaceful

Santiburi is probably among the top resorts in Asia. The property is very well maintained and the gardens and landscaping are amazing. The beach and the beach service are top-notch. Our villa with a plunge pool was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent with a wide selection of European and Asian dishes, tropical fruits, and eggs cooked to order. The service staff are accommodating and attentive.

The resort is 5 stars. The only negative is that you need transport to go for activities or to go for lunch or dinner outside the resort. The neighborhood surrounding Santiburi is safe, but not particularly attractive.

The resort is very beautiful. A very well maintained park surrounds the resort. The beach villa we stayed in was amazing and had a small pool. Just a few steps to the sandy beach. Beach is super nice. The water is not crystal clear but great anyhow. Breakfast was very good and there was a huge selection of food. Staff is very flexible, and if you want a smoothie with a flavour that is not available on the menu, they will make it for you. I tried the spa as well and had the best treatment of my life (and I had many) - the yoga facial with jade stones. A pregnant woman (unfortunately I can’t remember her name) gave it to me. It was heaven! Kids club is also good - friendly staff and lots of toys for the little ones.

Sometimes the limited English of the staff made it impossible to communicate. We forgot some pens and a book in a restaurant, but could never locate it because the staff didn’t understand what we lost. Also, the staff could circulate more frequently to take orders on the beach (we had to go to the beach restaurant and ask for things to be delivered to our sunbeds).

An incredible resort. The staff were wonderful and super helpful (especially with dietary requirements). Highly recommend downloading the resort's app, where you can see a range of interesting daily activities the resort puts on, as well as the history of the area, ordering room service etc etc. We went slightly on off-season so it was quiet but the beach feels very private. We had a great stay here.

The prices for extras were Western and quite steep. The food and cocktails were delicious, and the spa was lovely, but they came at a price! It is expected at a resort like this, but it does add up!

EVERYTHING!! 1. The food!! Whatever chefs they hired for Santiburi are clearly world class chefs who have made some of the most tasty food we have ever ever eaten. Especially with the chef at the Thai restaurant! They literally spoiled all other restaurants for us. You might think it’s a bit pricey but trust me once you eat it you’ll feel like the value is 10x. 2. The staff and hospitality. Their promptness and attitude made it feel like you were always their number one priority. It was our honeymoon and my birthday during the stay they went above and beyond to make us feel soooo very special. They brought us cakes on both occasions, sparkling wine, set up our room reallly cute and even gave us hand written notes. 3. THE SPA O M G. Len spa has our whole heart. We originally only went in for one couple massage and ended up taking a whole package for our stay because it was seriously the best spa experience you’ll ever have. We went 3 days during the week we stayed there and every time the service we received was BEYOND.

Absolutely nothing. Which is very rare for us skeptics to say. But literally everything was just a paradise. They always made sure we were hydrated by offering complimentary water everywhere we went from the pool to the beach to our room. The wifi signal was strong and consistent. The staff were consistently so pleasant and made us feel so welcome. They had complimentary high tea every afternoon, ice cream trucks that rolled around everyday. Literally it’s just paradise.

slightly outdated. requires a proper concierge for a 5 star. very friendly staff. good breakfast. great facilities for kids. excellent two bedroom suite with daily fruit. the property requires freshening up. mae nam beach was great - quiet and very clean private beach. only one beach house restaurant on the resort.
