Kantiang Bay View Resort

Great location on a fantastic beach. The bungalows are set in a nice garden area and the adjacent Why Not bar is excellent. Hotel serves very good Thai food throughout the day. The nearby village is good for essentials shopping and some good restaurants for breakfast etc. Staffat hotel friendly, helpful and good for organising onward journeys etc. they also have a good motorbike hire facility.

The bedroom and balcony were very good but the bathroom poorly maintained - the electric shower doesn’t work so cold shower only and there were two holes in the ceiling which gave access to the odd lizard! I blocked up the holes with plastic bags but the hotel did nothing about it despite me reporting the problem. The room wasn’t serviced once during our 5 day stay so no towel change, I arranged to have the bins emptied and no sweeping - I borrowed a brush to sweep the room and balcony. The breakfast is poor and we had it only once, options in the nearby village far better. Everything is priced separately, so boiled or fried eggs don’t come with toast or bread, and it works out v expensive for what it is. Also no Thai breakfast dishes available.

The location on the beach really is fantastic. We were in a bungalow, set slightly away from the Why Not bar. 20 seconds from the sand, on a very un-busy beach which is not rocky. The bungalow was comfortable, and was more or less what I would expect from a hotel room, and had been recently built. (Note, there were also visibly older buildings as well - which may differ in experience). The village has great restaurants and amenities (in particular the Himalaya restaurant is great). There is a good coffee shop on site.

It is situated on the same plot of land as the “Why Not” bar, which starts playing loud music at about midday, and stops at about 11:15pm. The music is very loud and could be much quieter - when in the bar you can barely hear someone talking to you. I feel like people may actually enjoy the bar mar if the music was quieter so they could talk! The restaurant is fine for a soft drink, but most of the food is very bland - I recommend eat elsewhere. It’s not a big problem as there are so many eateries within 5 mins walk.

This spot is a piece of heaven… literally. On the more quiet relaxed part of Koh Lanta, attached to the iconic Why Not bar where the DJ, live band, and staff keep you happy entertained and in the best spirits all night. brilliant service, unbeatable vibes, I couldn’t recommend it more

Almost everything!! The guy in the reception was really helpful! The facilities where clean and well maintained, right by the beach and next to why not bar which was very nice. The rooms were very clean. The massage spot, literally on the beach, good and cheap. The location is very nice. In total, a very nice experience in a very nice place which felt easy going and calm.The only thing that someone could consider as negative, is that some of the stuff of the restaurant couldn't speak english very well so there were some misunderstandings. At the very end though, everyone was trying to do their best, they were very helpful and kind. We loved it there!!

Incredible location in a very quiet bay in Ko Lanta - a much nicer place to relax than some of the other beaches on the island. There is an incredible sunset if you walk further up the beach too. All the staff are very friendly and helpful - Nicky even helped us by posting something we lost to Bangkok which was so brilliant! Lots of amazing food and drink options, helped by the excellent bar and cafe on site (the fresh coffee is very good). The staff also helped us arrange a snorkeling boat trip very last minute, and all airport transfers. Also very good WiFi on site.

Rooms are quite basic, it could help to have little things like a chair and table. But for a simple relaxing stay it's great.

Stayed in room 04 on the 1st floor, overlooking the sea. Room was very clean, spacious, with big windows to enjoy the fabulous sea view. Fridge, kettle etc. No bugs, ants or mosquitoes. Though not a private balcony (area shared by 1 other room) there are tables & chairs outside the rooms & a useful drying line. Food in the beachside restaurant was very good. The Why Not bar had live music/dj & not overly noisy. Didn’t keep us awake &, during our stay at least, seemed to be all over by 11pm (or did we just sleep through it😂) The beach is beautiful, flat and very quiet. There is a 7 Eleven, ATM & a good selection of restaurants close by. We tried The Drunken Sailor cafe & Indian restaurant & were both excellent. We booked our onward ferry/taxi at the resort.

Bathroom was a little dated & shower water pressure not the greatest. However, not a major issue for us. Happy hour at Why Not would have been nice - just saying 😆

I loved the location of the hotel. The beach was beautiful and the restaurant and bar at the hotel were great and really convenient. The 7/11 is next door and there are local restaurants within walking distance. This is a really quiet part of the island, which I loved. If you want to get about and you need to use a taxi on the island it can be a bit pricey. I was too scared to drive a scooter.

I think the cleaning standard of the room could be better and please leave more toilet roll!! The shower had no pressure and hardly any water came out.

The location is so nice! What a beautiful beach, what a nice sunset. Our room was big and quiet, air con worked well, bathroom also ok. The staff was nice,funny and helpful. The restaurant has lots of options and there is live music and a fire show that they repeat every evening. Also other restaurants and bars close by. We could rent a motorbike in the hotel and move around quietly.

It would be great that the hotel has some equipment to rent (snorkel or sup). We could rent a kayak at last that was great, but as the beach is so nice, some more options would have been amazing and they can take also advantage of the business.

Loved it. Simple, clean bunglaows right on the most beautiful beach in Koh Lanta. Great restaurant attached with well priced food. Wonderful massage ladies with a sala right next to the beach so you can hear the waves as you relax (utter bliss). Why Not bar next door has a fantastic DJ playing perfectly mixed 80s to present day hits that you had forgotten you loved. Nightly family run fire show. Kids loved it. Grown ups loved it. Hope to return.

The music from the bar didnt bother us in the evenings (maybe because we were mainly in the bar enjoying the music : ) but I imagine it could get noisier in high season.

The resort is right by the sea, at a magnificent beach in Koh Lanta Kantiang bay, which we fall in love with on first sight. Relaxing atmosphere, perfect beach for long walks, crab spotting & lovely sunsets. The resort cabins are newly build and clean, good size, incl. all comforts. Restaurant and bar next door, with decent food & drinks, so you never have to leave the beach. 7/11 at 5min walk.

Cabins could be equipped with a broom, so we can keep the sand out.. 😂
