We absolutely loved staying here!!! The hotel ambiance is just perfect!! Really well looked after, tidy with great attention to detail. Everyone that works here are really friendly and helpful. I would come back to Chiang Mai just to stay here again!! It's outside the city but well worth it. There are very lovely restaurants by the river at walking distance, staff helped us get taxis to get in the city. We also downloaded the app Grab to get taxis - it's like Uber and works really well. One night we ordered dinner from grab and had it by the pool, it was so peaceful. Breakfast was delicious, very fresh and served in a lovely area, surrounded by plants. I asked for a vegan breakfast and it was always perfectly prepared and served with a smile. :) I can't thank the staff enough - Sie specially helped us lots. However everyone else is so competent and friendly - Thank you

There are no words to express our gratitude to the staff for making this stay a very special one. Kan, the manager is simply terrific. A very lovely and insightful person who took care of us like if we were family. The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are beautifully designed with Thai motives. Other comments say that it is an oasis and it is true. We have travelled around the world and we have never felt the sadness of leaving a place like this time. We cannot recommend enough this magical place. It is close enough to city center but away enough not to be in the busy touristic areas where authenticity is lost. We moved around with the Grab app and it was perfect. Thank you for making is feel so welcome!

Staff greeted us with juice upon arrival and gave us a warm welcome. They were extremely helpful in booking tours for us and working hard to meet our every need. They made us feel right at home with many special touches in the room.

Best of all, this 'Village' has absolutely the calm restful effect of countryside Thailand of my early travel years in the 1970s... Of course...minus the pool ! The pool...must be given a mention too......blue, cool & inviting in the heat of May-June monsoon With strong Jacuzzi waterjets on the edge of the pool sitting on a perfect bench edge built in ..it's a revitalising sensational moving aqua massage. The lush tropical garden surrounds & the placements here & there of older 'antiquities' like the aged wood ,wise man sitting at the pools edge under Torch Ginger plants was for me one of the many appealing touches throughout both in rooms & garden. A refreshing place to stay & return too each day. The staff all are all gentle & helpful in their very natural Thai manner & certainly made my stay feel very relaxed & many interesting conversations were shared over the 5 days I spent there. Helpful with anything I needed.. I will hope to stay again , in this garden Oasis from the heat & busy-ness of Chiangmai.

I had some cnvsn ,commenting on the difficulty for myself, as an older person, to get in & out of the pool safely, as there is no form of handrail at the corner where you get into the pool. In fact there is also no step to the ground except for the actual pool ledge & for me that was potentially dangerous for a fall & I strongly feel the owners could rectify this in a way that doesnt detract from the surrounds. Not only Millennials are travelling ! I recommend that this small ' remodel ' of the pools accessibility for less physically stable people like myself would allow everyone to safely enjoy that refreshing pool. It didnt stop me from loving it every day , but it was quite risky getting in & out naturally as any of the younger guests could effortlessly do. 😎

This hidden little oasis is incredibly welcoming. The staff are smiley and attentive and will go out their way to help you. Breakfast was tasty with a good range of cold and hot options. Plenty of fresh fruit. Omelette, cereal and some great Thai sweet products to try. Rooms are decorated in rustic thai design, plenty of towels, comfy beds, lots of fresh bottled water daily The pool is idyllic in its own lush little garden.

It is out of town so a tuk tuk needed for most things. Plenty available on the Main road close to the hotel. Standard 120Bh to most places around town.

This hotel was outstanding, when we walked through the gates we were in awe at the beautiful scenery. Everything was super clean, the authenticity of the hotel is amazing it’s like you’re staying in the middle of the jungle (in a good way!) The staff couldn’t do enough for you, bar drinks were reasonably priced, one lady booked our elephant tour and sorted everything out for us, we were due to be picked up at 7am and breakfast didn’t start until 730, so she told the kitchen to open at 630 that day instead, incredible service. Very kind, friendly and welcoming staff/ atmosphere!

The location isn’t central (which is kind of nice as it’s away from the noise/ old town). So if you are wanting a short walk or no taxi journey from your hotel to the centre of Chiang Mai/ Old town, this isn’t the hotel for you. A tuk tuk cost us roughly 100 baht (which is nothing) one way. The bar was a menu on reception with limited drinks on there, we spent 2 days by the pool relaxing because the scenery was outstanding however a proper bar with bar snacks/ lunch options would of been ideal.

This is an absolute Pearl in Thai hotels. We got a very nice big family room, with more than enough rooms for our entire family of 5. The hotel greeted us every day with the greatest warmth and smile. The breakfast was small but covered all our needs, and the kitchen created a nice omelet. absolutely a hidden gem. A little way of the old town, but only a few hundred meters from a cosy street food place with something like 15 different venders.

there are only 4 sun beds… but then again only 11 rooms.

The property is very beautiful and serene. It is kind of hidden in a back street where it’s quite and peaceful. the property has lots of good spots to hang out around the garden and pool. The wifi here is good. The breakfast was so wonderful, I really liked it. The room is plenty big enough. They provide you waters daily in your mini fridge which is nice. The Staff, especially the reception woman, is super kind and helpful. She made our stay great and helped us when we needed it.

The location of the hotel is too far of a walk from the old city, but not a big deal because it is a 10 min Grab ride away. The only improvement I would suggest here is to get a softer bed. The bed was very hard and hurt our backs.

a secluded oasis at the end of a lane . quiet, lovely gardens. quaint traditional style Thai hotel. staff exceptional. Pang and Sy could not of shown any more hospitality. Nothing was a problem in making our stay perfect. Delicious freshly prepared breakfast. good selection every day . Stayed 2 weeks and would do the same again next year.

remoteness from city attractions in central Chiang Mai however Grab taxis were inexpensive and reliable the uniqueness of Hongkhoa Village made up for this

This hotel exceeded our expectations for service and quaintness. It was an oasis with a gorgeous pool, teak wood, antique decor, the Lanna vibe. The bonus was discovering the breakfast area which would have bestest any restaurant or cafe setting in the city. And the staff was exceptional. Their smiles and offers to help outmatched any US or European hotel I've stayed. We had several special requests and each were handled with quickness, responsiveness, and efficiency. When we had a little extra time, but not much, they even suggested & arranged a private driver for several hours before heading to the airport at half the cost of using Grab app.

I cannot think of anything that could have been better. The service, food, setting, spacious of the room & bathroom, were all exceptional.
