On My Way Jiufen Youth Hostel

The location is great, literally a stone throw away from the old street. Considered that I stayed during the weekend, during new year holiday no less, the value for money is absurd.

The bed, wooden frame looks nice and all, but it cracks with every twist and turn, espeically for upper bunk. Upper bunks have no curtain, so whoever turns on the light/open the door will (probably) wake up someone on the upper bunks. There is only one shower for (potentially) 18 or more people, and the shower is conneted with the upstairs washroom. I flat out did not shower on my last night of stay.

You won’t be able to find it right away but simply for the fact that there are so many little streets. The place is tiny but comfortable, the owner is really nice and English won’t be a problem. The bunk beds are comfortable and each guest has his/her own locker. Definitely recommend if you are travelling solo and if your stay is going to be one/two nights! You’ll end up making friends with the other travellers!

Shampoo and body wash are provided but to have towels as well would be great!

I'm glad I didn't have to climb stairs / uphill to reach this property. The location is just perfect! It's in the old street area and you don't need to walk that for to the main crowd, but it's in the quietter side of it. The staff was also helpful and kind, they allow me to keep my luggage before and after my check in time.

I've stayed in 3 OMW Hotel in Taiwan, and I think all of them has the same standard for bed, which from my opinion is a bit thin and not that comfy.

Absolutely mind-blowing amazing because the social environment (living room) provided me with opportunities to meet beautiful human beings from all over the world, including the boss (who is extremely nice to us!)

The only minor thing is that the upper bunk beds seem to be a wee squeaky so some people feel sorry to wake others up cuz of the noise. But I still slept well in the bottom one with a person above me so shouldn’t be a problem.

Very convenient location, good value for money

My bed was super creaky, to the point where any movement would make a sound. It was also extremely difficult to find the location - we were walking in circles before almost giving up. They need to fix the location on google maps as it is incorrect (showing it’s on the top of the mountain rather than being closer to the old street)

Hands down the best location in Jiufen. Next to the Main Street but still quiet and peaceful. Free water and tea (maybe also coffee but I don’t drink it so idk). Lovely common area, social vibes - great if you’re looking for a company but also enough privacy if not! Rooms are spacious, bathroom inside and another one outside. Basic kitchen utilities to use.

Staff there is very nice, cheerful, fun and helpful. It is right in the middle of the hot spot in Jiufen (markets) but surprisingly quiet that doesn't disturb your sleep. Free coffee/drinks to offer. Flexible staff, wanting to offer your needs.

Not much to criticise if you are expecting backpacking/hostel stay.

Stayed here for 4 nights over the lunar new year in the female dorm room. Comfy bed, very clean, plenty of hot water, laundry/dryer available if needed. Hostel owner was lovely and gave me some great suggestions of places to visit. Location is amazing, literally just off the main old street, but set back enough to be super quiet, also very convenient for the main bus stops. The kitchen has tea and coffee, a fridge, microwave and hot plate available for use. 10/10 would definitely stay here again

The hostel location was literally in the middle of the old street. You can walk easily to all the famous food shops and photo spots. The owner was super friendly and helpful. Even though you travel alone, the atmosphere will help you make friends easily there.

Lovely place to stay. The room was nice and big. The location could not have been better! Right near the bus stop at the start of the old street.

The room was a bit hot at night when someone turned off the aircon. Not the fault of the place though!
