H4 Hotel Solothurn

View from the corner suite (room 606) was amazing! Location near the Aare River, centre city, and train station is a huge bonus. Staff were helpful, friendly, and attentive. English-speaking staff are much appreciated! Clean and comfortable accommodation. Liked the bonus half-bathroom near the entry of the room. A perfect spot to host a couple of guests for evening drinks with spectacular views of the Solothurn Cathedral.

Would have loved a microwave for heating small food items. Traveling as an American, would have liked to have washcloths in bathroom, although I know this isn't standard in Switzerland.

A large, clean room and bathroom in a great location. A short walk to the train station (5 to 10 minutes) on the banks of the river. It was a short walk across the bridge to the Old Town. Had a part view of the river and some of the Old Town monuments from my room. The food at the on-site restaurant was also excellent!

It was a very hot and the air-conditioning didn't work well. You also needed to use the room key to keep the aircon on, which took longer to cool the room down when I'd been out for some time. The hotel also took an extra $100 upon check-in, as a "hold" fee on my card, which took several days to be refunded after I'd checked out. I understand that this has become normal practice for some hotels but it would have been good to be notified of this before I'd arrived, so I could plan my finances accordingly.

• Very tidy, comfortable, modern and luxurious rooms. The huge windows to the floor makes the room brighter and give you a breathtaking view to the river and the city cathedral. • The breakfast is very delicious, so much variety of food and drinks. In general the food in the hotel restaurant is very good presented and tastes good. • The staff is super friendly and always ready to help you. • The hotel also has a bar at the very last floor with a magnificent view again as well as a welness center where they will take care of you and make you feel very special. • The location is great - the train station is 5 mins away by walking, there are many bus stops around as well. The city center, old town is also 5mins away, there are a lot of stores, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and places for a walk and relax nearby the river. I highly recommend this place and the town in general because there is definitely a lot to be seen there. It is an aggregate of many architecture, culture, history and beautiful views.

the view was nice from the the room toward the river and feel comfort about the size of the room and facilities except Aircondition.

the air conditioned wasn’t working for two days and it was quite hot , we informed that it wasn’t work for a week before and we tried to keep windows opened to keep the room cool but we suffered from the insects.. I had booked to another hotel and far away from Solothurn and come back after repairing the air condition

The staff was very friendly (reception is open 24/7). We could leave our bags there until the room was ready for check-in, so we could visit the city. The location is beautiful and near the train station, which was good because we travelled by train. The room was big enough and had everything we need (tv, shampoo, towels etc.).

The price for the breakfast (30 .- per person) was a little bit expensive for us. The breakfast was good but not worth 30 francs.

We had a beautiful view of the church and river. We were on the first floor so we didn't see much of the river but the church view at night was spectacular! The room is spacious with seating area. It also had a coffee machine and the mini bar was included with the Business room. Buffet breakfast-is worth it if you like big breakfast. Only a 5 minute walk to the church and center. I look forward to staying here again.

We wanted to use some of the extra facilities from the wellness that required chips (coins), but no one was around to help us. We only had 45 minutes until closing so I thought this could have been the reason.

Excellent location and it is worth paying a little extra for a river facing room. We had gorgeous views, a complimentary mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities and everything we needed to make out stay comfortable. The only additional charge was parking in the basement at CHF15 for the night. This is more of a corporate hotel but we loved it for our holiday and would have liked to have stayed longer.

When we tried to visit and use the complimentary spa facilities at 10am in the morning there were no staff members in the spa and no one to help us or guide us in the use of the facilities. Not a big deal but we would have liked to use the coin operated jazuzzi.

We took the business(not for business I just think it's how they name it) room, the view was impressive, right by the river, even more, stunning at night! The location couldn't get much better, the area outside is pedestrianized so super quiet and no cars to spoil the view. The staff service was exceptional, we were looked after by Mortiz Bachoff who was simply 5 Star.

Only a couple of small things, no robes, and slippers in the room. But were free of charge just had to go get them from the reception/spa area. The spa area isn't the biggest and was busy most times of the day. The jacuzzi baths are coin-operated which is a bit of a faff. Covid didn't help the situation for sure, but still not the best spa. The sauna is nice, with a window overlooking the river.

We loved the view from our room across the river and the location was excellent being central to the city where we meet our friends who live locally. Parking outside the hotel was ideal.

service . thanks to the nice and helpful lady at the reception we were able to upgrade to a suite. Booking badly informed us and our 9 years old daughter would have had to sleep in the same bed as us otherwise!!!
