Hotel Montbrillant

The hotel is directly behind the central train station, Cornavin, which made it perfect for me to get to work, and get out of town easily! It is in the center of town, so could have traffic noises, train noises, and people, but this is Switzerland, so it was pretty silent sometime around midnight until about 6am. The hotel is being renovated, but it didn't affect my room or the entrance for the rooms with kitchenettes (like mine). The kitchen was decently equipped, I had a table and 2 chairs there, plus a coffee table and two chairs for any possible guests. The staff was super helpful. I'd defintely stay there again!

If you are sensitive to noise, don't stay here. While it's pretty silent from midnight to 6am, it can be noisy otherwise. That didn't bother me at all, but it might bother some.

I enjoyed staying in a spacious studio like room with a handy kitchenette. It allowed for easy preparation of simple meals and storage in the fridge. The convenience of the location coupled with these amenities made our stay quite pleasant.

The room's air conditioning was a standalone device with a tube hanging out of the window, which unfortunately faced the train station. This setup forced us to choose between enduring the noise from the trains with the window open or using the air conditioning. Additionally, the proximity to the platform allowed people to easily peer into the room unless the curtains were closed. Nonetheless, the location and convenience made up for it, so it was still a good stay overall.

The hotel has a great location and an amazing staff. It is only 7 min away from the airport if you take the train. The train station is right next to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions about the different places we wanted to visit. The rooms are very spacious and clean. We were very happy with our stay. Because of the convenient location of the hotel, we did not have to take public transportation and instead walked to visit the places we wanted to. The hotel even sends you a free public transportation card. We will visit again.

Everything was great. They were working on setting up a gym inside of the hotel.

The staff were exceptional and the location couldn’t have been better! The washroom was fully modernized and the bed very comfortable.

Property was slightly dated, but not enough to take away from the positives.

Location: Just behind the Cornavin (Geneva) Station = Super close to the public transport and shops & restaurants open on Sundays and holidays; Sufficient and efficient service: No frills, but quite enough. If you need something (e.g. CH adapters for electric devices, iron), you can ask for them from the reception.

The room is small, but if you know about it in advance, the size is not unreasonable. You can hear arriving trains and station announcements as this hotel is so close to the station that you can see the passengers. The room appears to be sound-proof, but you can still hear them and it may disturb those very sensitive to sounds (I was okay).

I am now using the Montbrilliant locations in Geneva more often, and feel very comfortable doing so. Easy to get in with the doorcode, no hassle with checking-in (arriving late eg.) and always clean rooms. Noise from outside and other guests very minimal in most of the rooms.

I really have a million emails from VISIONAPARTMENTS in my mailbox.. they ask 10x for your passport scan to give you your door code, and keep on doing so even if you have provided them with it. Also.. it needs to be send every stay, while I stay there often.. This process can be much improved. In some rooms the bathroom drainages stink.

I liked being close to the train station. I liked the quality of the front desk staff. All were very civil and very courteous. Oscar is an excellent hotel person and he is some skillful with languages. The young Russian was very professional. My sink filled up with water and it was nearly impossible to release the drain. I had to enlist the assistance of the front desk. I really appreciated the free transportation code.

The sink got clogged. I was in room 310. When I would leave the room the light didn’t always come on and i had difficulty seeing the keyhole to lock the door.

Hotel is some 20 meters from the train station Cornavin and taxi's and 40 meters from a busstop. The rooms are comfortable and come with coffeemaker/water heater, safe and water and coffee free every day. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is optional and basic but sufficient. Hotel is some 5 tot 10 minutes walking to Lac Leman/ Geneva Lake. Lots of cheap restaurants (Chinese, Indian, Turkis etc) in the neighbourhood, also supermaket Migros and Coop and warehouse Manor.

The hotel literally looks at the side of the trs station. I was first offered the 2nd floor room but it was very noisy during the day with traffic and the window does. Not shut out enough noise. I'm a light sleeper. But they transferred me to the 5th floor and it was perfect. The rooms are a good size, clean and small tea/coffee station. Staff were friendly and helpful. This is a pet friendly hotel and there were a number of people with dogs staying when I was there if that's an issue for others.

Lower rooms might be a little noisy with traffic.

Location couldn't be more convenient since it's right next to the train station and dozens of restaurants. My room was comfortable and shockingly quiet, given the busy street and loud station right next door. Staff on check-in day were extremely friendly and helped with my bags, although the receptionist on check-out day didn't speak anything other than French, which made things slightly more challenging.

Breakfast offering was absolutely not worth 18 Francs, particularly if you're not a meat-eater. But it's optional, so just go to one of the many nearby cafes for breakfast instead. My room had a thermostat where I could at least appear to adjust the temperature, but it never responded to anything I did. I would set the temperature lower, and when I looked at it a few minutes later it would simply be reset to its original setting! Therefore it was a bit too warm for my tastes at night.
