Hotel d'Allèves

I was only there for one night on my way home from completing the Tour Du Mont Blanc. The hotel is in a central location minutes from the bus station which is very convenient. Pretty basic, nothing fancy, and felt more like a 3 star hotel than 4 star. Comfy bed, big windows that open, normal sized bathroom. The best part of the stay was the breakfast! It was the best breakfast on my entire trip!

I arrived around 5pm with a pretty big problem - I had just completed a 10 day trek and needed one outfit washed to fly home in on an international flight. First thing upon arrival, I asked if there was any way to wash one lightweight shirt, and pants. The answer was No. Simply no. No suggestions either. I asked if they had some detergent and again the answer to that was no. I ended up washing the outfit with shampoo in the shower and blow drying it. I expected at least some sort of help being that this is a 4 star hotel in Geneva, not a hostel.

We loved everything about this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful (very unusually, though I always ask for it, they had put the correct work address on the bill and noted allergy problems even before we arrived). So often people seem to be miserable, but the staff here were all delightful. The decor is beautiful, with beams, bare walls, and other lovely touches. I should add that they upgraded our room, so we had a really brilliant room. The wifi was good, the breakfast was excellent, especially the collection of fresh fruits and berries. It was quiet, a short walk from the main station and from the centre of Geneva (in between the two). I would say even that for the quality and the comfort it was good value for money.

Breakfast was great, including the made-to-order omelets. My favorite part of the stay was the beautiful detail in the decor of the hotel - you can feel the history and it gives this very nice hotel a little bit of extra charm! One example, is the medieval stone staircase with carvings inside the hotel - interspersed with some lovely modern art pieces. This is also located in a great part of Geneva.

The hotel is in a building that is about 300 years old. It is very updated in a way that emphasizes the charm and style of Old Geneva. It has very interesting modern art from an earlier age decorating the rooms and hallways. It had a breakfast room that served an excellent breakfast.

I liked everything about this Hotel. However, It is a 4 star hotel without a bar or restaurant that serves lunch or dinner. However, there are some really nice restaurants within a short 5 minute walk of this hotel.

Room was excellent, facilities were excellent. Staff were friendly,courteous and helpful.. The proprieter was at breakfast every morning and was engaging and waited on everyone. My only complaint was that as a vegan there was little choice, i had fruit and toast which was fine, I had black coffee which was fine, but I thought there would be plant milks i.e. oat milk and perhaps mushrooms or tomatoes on toast, but it seemed eggs and omlette with cheese and ham was the order fo the day....

See above. I don't want to complain becasue the hotel was great and eveyone helpful and friendly... However,I don't think generally Geneva is the most vegan friendly city. Lots of cheese and meat and chocolate - but this is the whole city not just the hotel...

I loved everything! The breakfast buffet is amazing with such a kind and attentive staff! I know we took a little long to eat but the staff never said a word and politely took great care of us all the way to the end. The gentleman waiter is out of this world! The bedroom was outstanding, very large and elegant, with a beautiful bathroom, and a separate toilet. Everything was amazing from the moment we walked it, huge smiles from the reception, who was outstanding and catered to our every need. We are so delighted to have found this gem, we definitely will be back!

I can only say one thing that I didn't like, the pillows were too soft, they're down pillows and while many people may love these extremely soft pillows that go flat after a few seconfs, I prefer a firmer pillow. Maybe you should do one firm pillow and one soft to insure that the customers have a choice? Aside from this, everything was outstanding.

Close to the train station and the lake. Staff were very helpful and friendly, a credit to the hotel. Our twin room was very spacious, clean and had complimentary bottled water. Breakfast was delicious, a good variety and very welcoming staff member.

I loved the whole atmosphere of this hotel. There are tastefully selected paintings everywhere, so you feel like you are in a museum. I also loved their breakfast. Though they may not offer a great variety of food, they offer, again, carefully selected items that are tasty and good for the well being. I stayed for two nights and Mousieur made me a very good latte macchiato every morning. I am definitely coming back, next time with my husband.

Nothing really, only that you have to climb up three steps of stairs after getting out of the elevator. I suppose that the building is quite old and did not have an elevator originally, so it did not fit perfectly well in the building when they introduced the elevator. You may find it a trouble when you have a big suitcase, but it is not a big problem after all.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were assisted with parking immediately and our room was ready. Our room was spacious, elegantly decorated and the temperature was perfect. There was a fruit plate, two bottles of water and a couple of Lindt chocolates in our room. Fresh fruit is always welcome when I travel. The bed was comfortable with adequate linens to keep us warm on December nights. Breakfast had a great variety and there was great service. All in all, the staff was wonderful, friendly and warm.

I just wish we had stayed more nights in Geneva!

This hotel is a gem - so close to the railway station, Lake Geneva, multiple restaraunts and Old Town. Really well priced for Geneva too which is a bonus. Staff were amazing - very welcoming and helpful. The room was charming. It was super hot when we stayed and we loved coming back to our cool air conditioned room. The fruit platter on arrival was delicious and the huge bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was really spacious.
