Dickman Resort "The Boutique Hotel"

Firstly I loved the Hotel and the rooms. Because as a solo traveller in all I stayed in a fantastic selection of rooms. Then the hotel front desk office staff were excellent especially Thilina, then my rock Damith and the reservations Manager Danu. Also my thanks go to the Mr Dick Deekman who helped me stay in the resort longer because of delays travelling into India (December 2023). The breakfast called the Royal Dickman Breakfast was excellent. The fruit platter, Sri Lankan Omelette and Mango juice was so good. The service was also of a very high standard from all the team working together. I sat around the pool for six days and who could resist the weather, complimentary watermelon slices and ice cold smoothies by the pool.

There was nothing to dislike really.

Breakfast: the fruit plate was so good with usually 5 fruits included - tasty and fresh. Also it was available from 8 until gone 12. There was a range of both sri lankan and English/European breakfast. Coffee good too. Pool was available all the time, warmish with comfy beds/towels Room - spacious and light; large bed with cool clean bedding - very comfortable Staff - very responsive - always ready to help, cheerful, attentive. Reception staff organised trips, taxis, etc. Evening staff - ordered in food for us and arranged table, etc. Ambiance - quiet, beautifully and very tastefully arranged.

This is the most wonderful place to stay and we absolutely couldn't fault anything about our time there. Lovely swimming pool, beautiful huge room, super efficient air con. All the staff were absolutely lovely, helpful and very friendly, it was like spending time with friends. Lovely little extras like a bowl of fruit in the room and fruit juice brought to you every afternoon by the pool, and a pool table if you want to while away a bit of time playing games. This is a fantastic place to escape the world and a wonderful place to stay if you prefer the friendly boutique experience to a generic hotel.

The staff at Dickman’s were sooo lovely. Loved chatting to them, and they gave us super helpful travel tips and advice. They really went the extra mile to help us. The pool is beautiful, we hung out there for the afternoon and had a lovely sandwich from the bar and the hotel even gave everyone a fresh juice on the house. Hotel is really cool, has a pond inside with turtles and fish. Room was great, good size, super comfy 4 poster bed with a great mosquito net. Good aircon. We slept sooo well here. Colourful room with personality. Very clean. Breakfast was not included in our booking so can’t comment on breakfast.

Dickman resort is a real gem in Negombo. Beautifully designed garden and amazing rooms. We stayed in the Mango suite which was absolutely the nicest we have stayed in in Sri Lanka. (all rooms have different themes) Biggest, most comfortable bed, coffee machine, large TV with movie channel, lovely shower and good wifi... The pool outside the door was lovely and the sunbeds comfortable. The staff were pleasant, knowledgeable and very service minded. The breakfast is not good. 100 m away was the beach promenade with all the hustle and bustle, but at the resort it was quiet and nice. We will choose this hotel more times.

This place are on our top 3 list in Sri Lanka.

Every single person from the staff is just super helpful, they do everything to make your stay perfect. I was there with two friends and we were so sad to leave, the accomodation is so beautiful you feel like youre in a dream. And the breakfast is delicious, they give you an amazingly beautiful fruit platter, it's so worth every single cent. A huge thank you to the staff! We will be back for sure

This is the small boutique hotel that can. The staff are absolutely incredible. They chatted, they told many jokes and they looked after us in a way that a 5 star hotel could not. The service was second to none, the breakfast delicious, the room comfortable and the pool spectacular. And the fact that it’s LGBTIQ friendly just makes it even better. I loved my stay here.

I can’t think of anything at this point, it was a great stay.

I was upgraded to a suite as it was my birthday. The whole staff made such a super fuss of me as I was traveling alone. Did everything they could to make it special including cards and gifts. What wonderful boys. Literally couldn’t have hoped or wished for anything more. Totally luxurious. I will be back!

There are no dinner options, but staff were super helpful in assisting me where to go outside of the boutique. Not a complaint at all.

It's the second time we've stayed at the Dickman. Friendly and welcoming staff, the Red Room was very large and well equipped. Lots of arty/interesting/quirky pictures and ornaments. The ducks under the curtain rail were pure genius (to raise the curtain) and made us laugh.

Taxi's can find it a little hard to find the entrance to the hotel as it's not obvious.

Staff gave a very warm welcome and were extremely helpful and friendly all the time. The place is fantastic with its bright colours and unique decor. Location is suburb. Our room was hugh and very nice to be in. The breakfast is divine and the pool is lovely to spend time there relaxing. It is one of our favourite places that we have ever stayed in. 😍
