Parking on arrival was easy, there were staff who spoke English well, the room was a good size, very clean, comfortable and decorative. Breakfast was delightful (the colourful and decorative crockery is available in a shop at the hotel!) and the hotel is an easy walk to the town centre. An absolute plus was a small play room with toys and books in the reception area which kept our two young grandchildren entertained on many occasions.
The only issue for us (two ageing grandparents) was that the shower was in the bath and there was no grab rail to help us get in and out. The floor of the bath had a good non-slip surface though.

Super clean and comfortable. The girl at the front desk was very helpful and super friendly. Their parking does have special places for electric cars. Decor was amazing, and the breakfast buffet simply superb. The location is great. Good value for money. We definitely recommend Aras Hotel and will stay again when we are back in Zamora.
The only small detail was that the airco in our room did not cool down and was a bit noisy. It was not that warm and for one night, we managed.

Excellent first impression when you enter the hotel lobby, very stylish and at the same time simply laid out. The checking desk being a simple desk, the atmosphere conveyed is minimalistic and also very welcoming with a very calming colour scheme. The hotel boutique is also very attractive, selling homewares that you'll see across the hotel, including the bedlinen. The breakfast room located on the 1st floor is a succession of room modules decorated with a lot of flair and style, visibly designed to accommodate business and party events. The buffet breakfast feels relaxed and is very well appointed with quality ingredients. We really appreciated the fact that free public parking is possible in front of the hotel, we were lucky to find a free space within 2 minutes of our arrival but otherwise there is alternative car parking on the avenue opposite the hotel along the old city wall. Be mindful that the car will be exposed to the sun for a good part of the day, it will get hot! The hotel is also perfectly located, very close to one of the entrance of the old city, so it was easy to go wander around everywhere and not having to worry about areas that could be noisy with the touristic hustle and bustle. Indeed our night was super quiet, never heard any sound form other rooms nor from the immediate neighbourhood or traffic. We were left delighted by our short visit of a small provincial city with many wonders at a period which was perfectly quiet for us to enjoy.
The only negative note would be relating to the shower head above the bath tub. Obviously an afterthought in design. The tap situated in the middle means that the shower hose and head are now almost aligned with the edge of the protective glass panel. This means you have to angle the shower head in an awkward position, which it did not seem to easily want to adopt, to prevent a lot of splashing outside the perimeter of the bath tub. It would be wise to rethink this basic point for that particular room on the third floor.

The decor of this hotel is lovely very fresh and inviting. It was great having a locked garage for our car which is just around the corner from the hotel. The room was pretty with windows which open for fresh air and robes to relax in after a long day. The breakfast room was elegant with a good buffet breakfast including gluten free options. The hotel was just on the outside of the old wall but an easy walk into the old town.
Would have been easier to be able to access the garage from the hotel but it was only around the corner.

Very nicely decorated and furnished hotel on the edge of the old town. Pleasant staff. Comfortable, spacious and quiet room. Nice breakfast with ample choice. Plenty of free parking outside the hotel.
The only negative was the ridiculously convoluted log in procedure for the wifi. We had four devices that we tried to log on with and each one had to go through the log in procedure at least three times before it was connected. It took nearly thirty frustrating minutes before we were fully connected. There is no need for this and it can easily be simplified.

The reception staff is very friendly and professional. The hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms are spacious. There is a little room on the E floor where you can seat and enjoy a drink, and some small pastries for free. Nice touch.
There was no air conditioning, just heating. We were extremely hot, having to open the windows during the night, and therefore the traffic noise. The cooked food was set in a separate, and dark part of the breakfast room, not noticeable. I believe that we were not the only ones to miss this. A sign would help this problem.

Staff were very friendly, I liked the way you could reserve a spot for your EV, prices are very good and breakfast was decent. Location is also great.
The hotel could try a bit harder with reducing the use of single use plastic. For example in the bathroom the soap dispenser which could be refilled was empty so we had to use the small bottles of shower gel to wash our hands which is wasteful.

The room was large and very pleasantly decorated and relaxing. We were very comfortable. The toilet was in a bit of a niche and not being slim and having a bad knee at the time it was a little bit of a challenge but I managed. We initially thought that the location was a bit suspect (we drove in) but when we arrived it was okay. Nearest restaurants were about a 10 minute walk (uphill). Staff were really lovely and we muddled through language wise, they were very pleasant about it (we always feel bad that we don’t speak more Spanish) and some places can be a bit snotty about it - not here. The dining room is delightful, right up my street! Crockery and tablecloths all a mis match but went together beautifully- I loved it. Usual choices for continental breakfast plus bacon and eggs, all fresh and tasty. And when we checked out we noticed they had an attached shop just off reception so I was more than happy to purchase some of the aforementioned crockery and couple of beautiful scarves. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again. They do have their own parking but if you can find a space there is a large car park just in front of the hotel and the staff were good enough to tell us that it was free and safe to park there. It is a modern hotel (inside) but it has oodles of charm and retains character.
More space for the toilet.

A beautiful boutique hotel with collocated linen and leather shop. Bedrooms lovely and beautifully furnished. Staff excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Hotel ideally situated to explore the old city and city centre. The breakfast offer was mouthwatering and extensive. Our second visit and we intend to return next year.
Nothing.

We stopped in Zamora on our way from Madrid to Portugal to break up the journey. We chose the Ares Hotel because of its location and great ratings. The Hotel does have its own parking, but there is free public parking right in front of the Hotel. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice. Zamora is well worth a visit in its own right, not just a stopover. There are lots of historic sites to see, great views from the top of the castle! Nice local restaurants and bars down narrow cobbled streets and in the plazas. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Language was a bit of a barrier as I don't think this place is on the tourist trail for English speaking tourists. However, these are the things that make a trip like this interesting; Google translate was vey usefull! If we were to pass by Zamora in the future we would definitely consider staying here again.
