Kook Hotel Tarifa

Breakfast wasn't great (OJ and yogurt were yucky). Had to go to front desk to reset a/c. Electrics powered by key card inserted in slot by room door. I strongly recommend you leave the key card in and have either a night light or one of the two bathroom lights on. I took the key card out, woke up in the middle of the night with no lights, had to feel around desk for my key card, then gingerly make my way to the room door to insert card in slot and turn on bathroom lights. It was a bit of an annoyance. Every member of the staff was super, just really nice and helpful. Room was well furnished, bed very comfortable. Knowing what I know now, I will return as I have to go to Tarifa every three months.

Everything was exceptional. Incredibly cool hotel. Perfectly clean. Super cool design, without being over the top. Clean lines, cement design. One of the best hotels I've stayed with for this price. The staff is extremely nice as well.

The sole tiny mistake I would say in all of it is the breakfast. The cheese was bland, the bread was nothing special, and you had cheap, supermarket quality Italian ham. The fruits were amazing, the chia bowl as well. Everything top notch, but Italian Prosciutto? Really??? In Spain??? Get some regular Jamon in. I'm sure you can find some good one for an ok price.

everything was perfect and over the expectations. the hosts are super welcoming and a common kitchen with fruits and beverages is complementary with the stay. all the areas and rooms are really well designed and The fact that I am an architect specialized in boutique hotel (the firm is ovre.design) can confirm that. the room is cozy and detailed in every aspect, from the interior design to the comfortable bed to the beauty amenities you will find. Of course from the professional point of view I would have chosen some finishes differently but that’s a technical side that influences the hosts more than the clients. I especially appreciated the warm lighting effect, that makes you feel calm and energized at the same time. the staff is amazing, ready to welcome your request and to give you tips about the city. I ‘ve slept in hundreds of hotels in my life and I can surely tell this one (within its price level and clients target) is absolutely excellent.

We loved the Kook hotel! Decorated funky in a very cool way. The mattress was comfortable and the room was very quiet with a nice hot shower and good water pressure. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much. The hotel is really clean and the breakfast was fantastic and really healthy. Coffee, flavored water and fruit was available 24/7 at no extra charge. The location was close to everything and only about a 10 minute walk to the ferry and beach. The roof top terrace was also really nice with a view of Morocco in the distance. I just wish we could have stayed longer!

The accommodations were very cute! The bed and pillows were so comfortable, and the room itself was decorated very nicely. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here— it truly felt like I was in Spain. Above all, the part that stuck out to me the most was the high level of customer service I received at this hotel. Since my friend and I were leaving early in the morning before the breakfast buffet was going to open up, the receptionist was sweet enough to prepare us a little something the night before and leave it in our room’s refrigerator so that we would have something to eat when we woke up. The spread included some ham, cheese, yogurt, fruit, and coffee. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone looking to stay in Tarifa!

I am used to having a 24/7 reception, which this property did not have. Our stay went smoothly, however had there been an issue of some sort, this could have been an obstacle.

Stylish hotel and room with a lovely green wall in the main area and spectacular views from the rooftop. The old part of town is small so everything is within easy walking distance. We had a fantastic dinner around the corner at Silas 19 on the recommendation of the hostess. Breakfast was good and complete and it was so nice to have fruit, coffee/tea available all day at our convenience. Only there for one night, but would have happily stayed longer.

The staff was amazing! We had an early ferry to catch, so they brought a breakfast tray to our room the night before! The breakfasts were wonderful. Room was large and exceptionally clean. Loved having a king-sized bed.

The only negative was a lack of privacy in the bathroom. There was a hole cut for a door knob, but no knob. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying and something that could easily be fixed.

Breakfast : Was okay ! Plenty of fresh fruits available as different choices of milk, coffee and honey. The coffee was excellent as was the variety in tea. Fresh made orange juice. 3 choices of bread and small pastry. A big plus was the coffee, cold water, flavoured water and fresh fruits available all day long and for free!!! Interior : loved the decoration, inside and outside. With well-known products of Bellerose, records on the wall, the black and white photography, the art, books, games, the colours, the plants, the outside breakfast room, the furniture, perfect for a beach located hotel ! Bedrooms : a wonderful bed and pillows as the size of the bedroom. No noise during the night at all which is for me a plus ! Loved the products of Nuxe ! The roof terrace : this was fantastic with a view on Africa and the old town of Tarifa. I loved it ! It felt like being back in Marrakesh but the only thing you have to deal with is the wind.... Every evening before bedtime, I sat on the terrace with a cold beer enjoying the wind, the sea, the view... Location of the hotel : just perfect ! Close to a parking lot and in the old town. The staff was amazing !!! So friendly, helpful, all sweet people !

Breakfast : could be a little bit better, more choices... Would be great to have a possibility of having an omelet or scrambled eggs, tortilla or..... instead of only a cooked egg every day. More choices of homemade jams instead of the ones you find in all these big hotels...As a boutique hotel, you could think about offering more bio products. Several kind of yoghurts would be great. Sometimes smoked salmon... It would also be great if there was a possibility to have breakfast inside at a more comfortable table and chairs.

I had the most wonderful time at Kook. The energy, the vibe is so positive in this place. The design is exceptional. With all its cool vintage pieces, mainly from Belgium, it made me feel like at was at my hipster granny's for the weekend...or as we say in Belgium "bij de bomma". I could have stayed much longer. The staff is so kind. ❤❤❤ The toiletries by Nuxe added a luxurious touch to my stay. Towels were soft and fluffy and smelled like fresh linens. (Please don't change the softener you are using, it is wonderful). The bed and pillows are of top quality. They thought of everything but my favorite part of it all were the little cat paw marks in the shower. They must have had a little visitor during constructions 🐈 and I think it just added to the overall loving, chill vibe of the place

The Kook Hotel is a true gem in the heart of Tarifa's old town. We only stayed one night, but we really wished we could have stayed longer. Everything is so beautifully decorated and the attention to detail is amazing. The staff was also super friendly and the breakfast in the morning was just delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back if we are in Tarifa again.
