Hotel Don Pepe

This hotel was in many ways the highlight of our two week touring holiday around northern Spain. The bedroom was not as large as the typical Parador bedroom, and it was modern so lacked the character of some of the historic hotels we stayed in. But Ribadasella was an absolute find, the location of the Don Pepe was unbeatable with its magnificent view over the beach and out to sea. The breakfast buffet was very generous, we dined at the hotel on both nights on their very affordable 28 euro fixed price menu and the food was of very high quality. The staff without exception were the friendliest and most helpful of any of the hotels in which we have stayed. The bed was very comfortable and though the hotel lacks aircon the ceiling fan kept us cool in the exceptional October heat. We would be very happy to return but would stay longer than this time,. Top marks.

Lovely hotel , we stayed on the first floor with balcony to the sea . Love the sound of the waves crashing . The room was decent size , beds confortable . Shower very good . It is a pity we didn’t stay longe to enjoy the room and his mini balcony . Another bonus is the free breakfast , very nice and decent ; Servíng cold meats , bolleria and toast . The staff is very friendly . Very close to the caves too! Parking available around the hotel - free .

The hotel is small and the balconies are so close to each other that you feel that you are on top of each other , but that is so insignificant when you have that view !

The hotel is really well situated. Our comfortable room had a balcony overlooking the beach and sea, well worth booking a room with a sea view. The room was comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful. it was nice to have a cafe bar. Breakfast was very good. it is really well situated for walking along the coast, the nature reserve behind and for walking over the bridge to the old town and the bars. This is definitely a place we will return to, Ribadesella is so beautiful, and a hotel we will happily return to. Thank you Hotel Don Pepe.

Great location and the rooms with sea view are worth it as you really do get a great view. Helpful staff who were very reactive to all requests. There is a small underground car park (for an extra fee) which is difficult for bigger cars but very secure - in low season there are plenty of spaces in the street outside the hotel. It is very easy to walk into town for dinner (15 minutes max). Breakfast was good with great coffee. Good value for the great location.

Rooms might be a bit basic for some tastes.

Everything! from the minute we arrived to when we left and beyond that was beyond exceptional! staff at reception, in the bar/restaurant were welcoming g and helpful . The room had a fridge with bottled water and glasses in the fridge … Then I left my special earrings at the hotel and was in another hotel 20kms away . The hotel delivered the earrings to my new location going beyond expectations in a major way special thanks to Yolanda and to Luis Pablo Gonzalez de Cabo and team you are very special people

The room was marvelous! Clean, bright, and spacious. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Location is great, in front of the beach, close to centre and everything (groceries, laundry, restaurants). We had dinner in Don Pepe restaurant since we were a bit lazy to walk far (we are on Camino and had long walk on that day😃), surprisingly the food is tasty! and the staff amazingly good. So basically Ribadesella left us great memory during our Camino trip.

We were very happy to have found this great hotel. The location is wonderful, just in front of the boardwalk and a few steps to the beach. Breakfast was included in the rate and it was delicious. The best for us were the bicycles that we could just take around the town. The room was perfect and the beds were very comfortable.

Prívate parking has a charge. This was overlooked when we made the reservation. Luckily we found parking on the street which was free.

This was our third stay at this hotel, 5 nights this and last year, and we feel very much at home, always given a warm welcome. Ideal location with the beach so close, just beyond the promenade that stretches right the way round the bay. Wonderful sea views from comfortable room, good breakfast and evening meal an option in nicely appointed dining room.

We have been staying in Ribadesella for over a decade and this was our first visit to Hotel Don Pepe. On our arrival we were disappointed that we had not chosen to stay there previously as it was exceptional in every respect. The decor, cleanliness and most of all the staff, each member of the staff was friendly and went out of their way to assist.

We are sorry that for many years we have been wasting our money by staying in other more expensive hotels in Ribadesella - in the future we will ONLY be staying in Hotel Don Pepe.

We arrived very late and left next morning so spent very little time at this hotel, which is a shame as wonderful location. Booked cheapest room, didn’t have a balcony, which we knew but although it was in the eaves it was spacious, was obviously a family room as had 4 beds! Good breakfast and staff happy to let me take coffee back to room before breakfast.
