Lovely hotel right at the beach, & a short walk into the town (approx 20 mins) There was a great choice on offer at breakfast & the lunch/dinner menu was excellent. The bar/restaurant terrace was a great place to eat or relax with a drink. Staff were very helpful. The room was very comfortable, spacious & quiet

The room was a superior double with sea view which was listed as having a terrace. I had hoped this was large enough to use for sunbathing but it was only wide enough to sit at the table & chairs provided. One other small niggle was the sliding door that doubled as the toilet & shower door, which was very rusty on the inside, not what I expected compared to the quality of the room otherwise.

Absolutely spectacular. Gorgeous views, beautiful landscaping, and gorgeous design and touches throughout the hotel make this hotel the perfect spot for a relaxing stay.

The only thing that could really improve is the staff. Overall they could be friendlier. The girl at the restaurant answered our questions about the menu in Catalan even though we were asking in English and don't speak Catalan. The breakfast staff had an attitude.

The hotel is gorgeous and in an ideal location. The rooms and the surrounding area are lovely and the breakfasts were just fantastic. Really enjoyed the property.

One small thing was the presence of a Nazi Swastika on a retaining wall on the main road leading to the hotel. We were actually quite shocked to see this and asked that it be removed. The people at the front desk were sympathetic but at the end of the day told us that they couldn't do anything about it so we had to see this for the entire time that we were at the hotel. It was very upsetting and something that should have been addressed immediately.

Oustanding hotel. The place is whimsical, next to the sea and close to the ruins of Empuries. The historical and contemporary parts of the hotel are archtecturally interesting. Beginning my day with a boardwalk walk before a wonderful breakfast was great. The spa is a quiet place among the pine trees. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I have received very good advices about cultural visits and trekking on the GR92. Would love to come again.

this hotel is not luxurious but it is full of charm in front of a very nice beach and promenade which gives access to many beaches and surrounded by nature. The restaurant is very good and for the quality well priced. The staff at the restaurant and the cleaners were also great, our room was absolutely cleaned to perfection every day.

The hotel has seen is best days already, there are lots of little things falling apart that did not bother us but they could be fixed easily. The service is a bit hit and miss, the staff at the reception could be more welcoming and explain a bit more the facilities etc. The breakfast is not very good, little choice of sweets (but in Spain that is often the case), the a la carte also has nothing sweet (pancakes etc).

Dog bowls in the room when we didn’t have a dog! Whilst I’m all for welcoming well behaved dogs in a hotel I do not like the idea of having had dogs in the bedroom especially when all the seat covers are not cleaned after each changeover. Rooms should be set aside for dog owners and customers given the option to stay in rooms that are accepting of pets. Gardens could be slightly more managed.

Location was superb. Excellent breakfast. Very nice restaurant for a lovely dinner.

Staff was not at the level of a rather expensive hotel (except for some few exceptions). They forgot to clean our room on our second day there. When we arrived at 21h. after having walked all day, the bed was not made, there were no towels and nobody had clean the bathroom. I find this to be a pretty serious mistake for a hotel of this level and I would have expected a sincere apology and perhaps even some gesture on the hotel's part; but we got none.

This is a lovely hotel with a great ambiance and friendly helpful staff in a great location overlooking the sea. It has a small (public) beach immediately in front of the hotel. It is located away from the hub-bub of central l'Escala very close the the site of the Phoenician/Roman settlement. The Terrace is very comfortable and is a great vantage point to watch the world go by.

This is a top 4* hotel, so one expects to pay premium prices. However I felt that charging for the use of the pool and the cost of breakfast (the same as a 3 course meal with wine in nearby establishments) were a little excessive. Whilst the staff were very friendly and keen to please, service was slow at times and often I had to go to the counter to get service on the terrace. I would also have expected coffee-making facilities in the room and room service, neither of which were available. Nevertheless I do not want to paint too negative a picture, I would book again and recommend to others (in an informative way) as the upsides definitely outweigh the downsides.

10 out of 10. Location on the beach is unbeatable! Hotel is on a quiet beachside path that links the beaches north of L'Escala. Perfect for a relaxing February break (also gorgeous in summer but with a busier vibe). Building mixes old seaside glamour with modern architecture. Overall a very cool/relaxed vibe. We had a room with a sea view and sunrises were spectacular. Breakfast and dinner are served in the seafront restaurant and food is great. We went to Ultramar restaurant in nearby L'Escala for dinner one evening and it was also a really great experience.

My only negative comment - it seemed like the hotel restaurant was short staffed. The service was still good but that was only because the staff were working so hard to fill the gaps The stress of the staff was visible. Still giving overall experience a 10

The setting is beautiful, staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There is an extremely relaxed ambience everywhere in the hotel. No one is rushed or rushing around. The breakfast is exceptional. Wonderful location for a holiday.

One night the toilet cistern ran all night. Very difficult to sleep especially if you are a light sleeper.
