Hostel Los Duendes del Sur

It was my second stay in this hostel and I am sure I will be back for more. The reason: the atmosphere there is simply amazing. I had some mobility problems at the time, so wasn't able to walk very far, therefore I just wanted a place where I could just chill for most of the day and meet some nice people. The common areas make it really easy, I like the rustic feel of the interior and a nice terrace and garden. The staff are so friendly and helpful, I would like to give special thanks to King George, I really enjoyed chatting to him and he kept the place nice and clean. I stayed in a single room, which was rather basic but also quite charming (made of wood, nice decor).

During the first two nights, I could smell quite a strong drainage odour in my room but at the time it was raining heavily, so I am not sure if this was coming from the hostel or from outside. It improved with the weather though.

Whether you like staying here depends a lot on what you're looking for (and who else happens to be there). I liked it. The atmosphere is laid-back and the staff helpful and friendly, they do everything they can to accommodate you. The area is quiet (and somewhat run-down) and you can find peaceful beaches and beautiful cliffs, or go anywhere on the island by bus. It's a bit remote, but I liked being away from the hubbub. The place itself is not always quiet, though. It's a small place, and not very soundproof - if others are in a party mood, you won't be able to get away from it. On the other hand, it's a good place to meet people. It boils down to living at close quarters with other people and probably dealing with some chaos that comes with that, but also unexpected encounters and fun spontaneous moments.

I got no complaints...best hostel on the Islands... great location,bus stop nearby.near shops, hypermarkets,Euro-shops beach nearby..2mins away. great kitchen, great garden... best place for Digital NoMads,or for very good for short term stay if working locally owner has re organised hostel.ie .the chaos of the past is gone.no smoking weed in garden,etc, it's simple... respect for each other,

I sometimes like a coffee or tea in early hours,,but kitchen close at 10 !

Cozy hostel with a climate. It was clean and staff were friendly. Nice garden to chill in. Good price-quality relation. You have shops nearby and it's 15 minutes walk to playa amarilla and montaña amarilla. The situation with bathrooms is not that bad as somebody described - there are 3 of them :)

The rooms don't really are sound proof so light sleepers better take ear plugs (I'm not a one so for me it was ok)

I had a very nice experience in this hostel. The staff was very helpful. The atmosphere is very relaxed and positive. There is a Huge Benjamin tree in the garden with a very comfortable hammock and a lot of other spots where you can either relax or socialize with the other guest. There are some nice cliffs and a beach very near to the hostel where you can get in the water fr a swim or just enjoy the sun. A great thank you to the staff and I will see you again the next time I visit Tenerife.

Facilities, staff location close to sea,supermarket, pubs, buses,restaurants, lovely place ,highly recommend 👌

In a nutshell, nothing ,I will be back.1 problem, toilet shower rooms ,if one used have to walk in big dormitory, to access, which may disturb residents

I go to Las Galletas for a weekend class and stop a los Duendes when t can't stay with friends. I live on the island. When I go I just need a comfortable bed and a clean shower. I really like that the bathrooms are clean.

It's very basic. I don't mind because I need cheap and functional but people should know that this is basic efficiency over cozy.

Good location, nice quiet beaches nearby, staff very attentive and helpful and was a pleasure meeting you.

Nothing , id recommend to any friend or traveller, you will meet some people from all walks of life there!

What a lovely, homey place! The staff in this hostel were all so friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was really special. Guys, thank you so much for making me feel so welcome! The hostel has an amazing vibe and nice outdoor areas. It was very good to chill out and also easy to meet new friends. As for the amenities, there was everything that I needed and I could see that the rooms and common areas were frequently cleaned. I also liked the location: close to the shops and bus stops and a slow walk to the beach took less than 15 minutes.
