Parador de Antequera

Really great hotel. It’s the only luxury option in the town and it does it really well. Beautiful views over the valley and mountains and a really peaceful retreat from the town. Art work around the hotel is lovely, hotel kept immaculately. Super easy to get into Malaga for either a trip to town or for flights. - there’s a bus / coach that leaves early and is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Antiquera itself is one of my favourite towns in southern spain. Really beautiful old town.

One minor moan from an early riser- the bistro by the pool doesn’t open early so if you want a coffee with a vista you have to walk down into town (about 5 mins)

A clean and spacious hotel with comfortable beds and friendly staff. There was a nice pool and it was a peaceful place to stay. Civilised guests who don’t fight over sunloungers. Lovely views from the restaurant and garden areas. I liked the fact everyone had their own bamboo tongs for the buffet breakfast which is a great idea and so hygienic. They serve good strong coffee at breakfast. It is very close to the bus station

Really can’t think of anything. I would only suggest they consider installing a bird bath on the lawn outside the restaurant. I’m sure the birds would love it and the guests enjoy watching them

Easy 10 minute walk into central area very close to bus station only 5 minutes away. Very modern clean and airy pool area was very nice but too cold during our stay to take advantage of that facility which was a shame. Reception staff were very helpful at checkin also with info and directions.

Service at breakfast was poor staff were not attentive had to get up and ask to order a cooked breakfast also request more coffee and even a spoon for cereal pity really because the buffet set up was excellent great choice restaurant was very nice with great views just felt the service could have been better.

Excellent quality food, clean throughout. Helpful friendly staff. An area of few tourist so little English spoken. A good base for exploring Andalusia and to the town of Antequera is charming with many good clothe shops, restaurants and bars, beautiful architecture and clean well maintained streets and public gardens. As typical English travellers we would have appreciated tea making facilities in our hotel room but that really was our only disappointment. We would recommend the parador and hope to return soon

This is a great Parador, modern and not too big. We stayed here while on our way to Portugal. It's out of the way in Antequera but close enough to the centre to walk. We enjoyed the facilities (pool and restaurant) and rested really well before the next leg of our journey. The breakfast offers a nice selection of food and the coffee is excellent.

a free bottle of water in the room would have been a nice gesture

Location, Facilities and the restaurant were all very good. Nice large room and comfortable bed.

Most things were good, but the service in the Cafeteria was at best atrocious, the staff were very friendly there, but they were very rarely there. we waited 35 minutes for drinks after our order was taken. I think the staff are having to cover too many positions in the hotel. In the morning I had to go to reception to pay for morning coffee as the waitress had moved from the cafeteria to the restaurant. Not the staff at fault, but certainly the mangers.

Comfortable beds, big bathroom with bathtub, excellent outdoor pool in a pleasant environment, excellent location, 3 minutes' walk from Antequera bus station, and about 20 minutes' walk to the center of town. Good variety of food for breakfast. Overall, highly recommended as a base to explore Antequera.

A welcome drink (detox water or juice) in the lobby, as some 4-star hotels from other chains offer, would be a welcome addition to the guests' experience.

Whilst Parador Antequera may not have wow factor of other paradores, it was really comfortable, convenient and good value for money. A great location close to the town centre, which so many interesting historical sites to visit. Close to the Alsa bus station which means it’s really accessible. Bedrooms have a corporate feel but still very comfortable and clean.

We loved the views from the elevated position of the restaurant. The breakfast was delicious.

Unfortunately we were misled about the pricing of dinner. We were led to believe that each guest was entitled to eat a three course meal and have a wine / beer for 34 euros. Our bill with 2 glasses of wine 2 main courses and 1 dessert came to over 90 euros. Consequently its doubtful we would dine there again. Views from ground floor locations were obscured by bushes needing to be trimmed.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Staff were fabulous and it is a 10 minute walk into town. Great pool with views over the valley!

The only downside is that we had no balcony. It seemed that there were very few rooms with such. We booked standard superior and were pleased with the room except for the access to outside from the room.
