Southern Sun Cape Sun

One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in at this price point. Stayed on 29th floor with spectacular view of the city and waterfront. Everything was clean and well kept. Excellent towels and bedding. Coffee, Tea, Bottled water in room, with fridge. On the edge of the central business district, so walkable to museums, Company Garden, City Hall, Long Street. Long walk to V&A Waterfront due to a lot of blocked/fenced routes (use google maps to guide you). Not too far from Cruise Ship Terminal. Best breakfast in any hotel, w Western and Indian options, many pastries, fresh fruit. Baggage storage available for persons w/ late flights (us). Many cautioned us about safety-not walking after dark almost anywhere in Cape Town, but we had no problems. Uber from this hotel to V&A, Botanical garden, Table Rock Tram is very economical (~35% of US prices).

The rooms are very spacious, and the views are stunning.

Underneath the bed, where piles of dirty, please inform cleaners to clean underneath the bed and move furniture when cleaning, also it was very difficult in getting through to the reception most of time, as the phone keeps ringing and no one response to to calls. On arrival, it was one person attending to guest on arrival, which is quite unprofessional for a big hotel as that. A porter had to go inside to call them out to attend to the guest,which is unacceptable.

Wow the hotel looks exactly like the way it appears on booking apps clean and beautiful. Staff were so friendly and helpful I use to visit hotels and this was my first time were my luggage was carried to my room and back to the car when we were leaving, I only saw this in movies. We also liked the indoor swimming pool. We were on the 27th floor and lifts were working properly every day. The food was delicious with variety of choices. I'll definitely come back for another great and wonderful stay.

Pool gym together beauty shop pool needs to be away from two I mentioned no color scenery by pool no views from pool area pool area must have light grenery lounges ambience of relaxation was none of that at pool also ppl working out next to pool is big no no for me entire pools wall needs to be glass to view scenery with beautiful plants scrubs lounges entire sun roof over the pool area was no lounges chairs that were there was soaking wet most of the time was impressed by that at all

Its may good for some guest , but as me with young child and cape sun having 32 floor this is very high . The windows open up so wide without security mechanism in place to stop it from opening up so wide as my young child could have reached over and fell out. just like to bring this to the companies notice before there is a lawsuit and something terribly happened🤞🏻

Gosh! Where do I even start? My entire stay was just amazing from food,the place,rooms and to the greatest staff they have there, wooow! Those people are angels I tell you. We were traveling with kids youngest being (22 months). The staff was sooo helpful and loving , everyone was calling PK🥰, at breakfast they d even keep him busy, entertain him while we eat.. as a result of their kindness and hospitality, we have decided that everytime were in CPT ,we going to stay there.

If they can just have childminding facilities, it would be great

The hotel is in city centre almost near every attraction.. It is very safe as the are securities in the property and the other thing I liked is that you cannot go up the lifts to the rooms without your room key… the lifts require your room key

My husband just didn’t like the steepness of the parking lot… but we got used to that… it’s not a train smash

I had a good time, however the guy serving me a light meal cheated me on Sunday the 7th- he did not produce a bill saying there was a problem with the machine. He said my bill was R375 and upon insistance I realize my bill was R300.00 I had already paid the tip of 10%. I was dismayed and disappointed. I am a seasoned traveller and he undermined me.

Nice hotel. Mostly very pleasant staff.

Poor internet connection. Reception called me at 23:00 in the evening that we did not check in. I had to go down to show the receptionist the paper slip that I got when checking in. After that he looked at their paper records and found the one that I signed. PLEASE look at your records before you call people late at night.

The location of the hotel is perfect for walking around the city! Our room had the best view of Table Mountain and on the other side of the building one would have amazing views of the city and ocean from the higher floors. Breakfast had everything one could ask for. Staff throughout the hotel were exceptionally friendly. It is also a great stay for families.

The indoor pool is cold but I guess it is geared to the gym area.
