Barbara Piran Beach Hotel

The hotel is located in the beautiful lagoon,which has amazingly clean water and not very windy. it is just 15-20 min walk to centre of Piran by the path next to the sea shore. The stuff is very nice and friendly and the hotel is quiet clean and neat. the beach part wasn’t working yet-we came before the main season started,but it looks like it should be an awesome one.

I don’t want to sound very criticising,but the advert in booking is not giving a proper introduction to the hotel services included into the list. Guests need to be aware that they will have extra costs for parking,spa (which is actually just wellness saunas) and deck chairs.

Terrific location on a quiet stretch of coast very close to the busy tourist area of Piran and Portoroz. A mile walk or a €14 cab ride from the Piran town center. Beautiful clean ocean for swimming right in front of the hotel. Lovely balconies off the rooms, lovely terraces for breakfast and bar/ food in the afternoon and evening. Great staff!

Not good for anyone with mobility issues - lots of stairs to get anywhere - for example, to get to the WC from the bar there are two flights of stairs. There are lots of steps between levels and ridges at thresholds, no grab-bars in the bath, water access down slippery steps after walking across a slippery deck. Some bannisters, but not all stairs have them. No sand beach.

The location is fabulous with a great sea view stretching from the bay of the hotel to the old town of Piran, the fiesa walk takes about 10 mins and you are in the hubbub of the old town. Food options at the hotel are good and the prices are very reasonable. The hotel decor is fresh funky and quite cool. Room had an amazing view, really good spec bathroom and a fresh feeling.

Parking is a pain!!, the hotel offers a valet garage service for €19 a night or a nearby public car park at €15 per day. They need to do better to have the spaces near the hotel available. We travelled in August , so peak season but still expect better availability for such a big hotel.

We were very happy to be advised that our room had been upgraded to a larger seaview room with a huge balcony. We liked the new decor (we have stayed here before a few years ago). The breakfast buffet was very varied and well stocked. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and we love the location of the hotel as it is only a short and pleasant walk into town.

We were disappointed that there was not a kettle in the room to make a hot drink in the evening. We initially thought that our hairdryer was broken, but it later transpired that the lights flanking the mirror shared an electrical circuit with it meaning that all the lights needed to be switched on for it to work (which wasn't obvious to us or the front desk when we queried it). The air conditioning unit also seemed to have issues caused by neighbouring units, but the very helpful reception staff sorted it out for us.

The staff were exceptional - all of those we met were friendly, efficient and helpful. The room we had was quite newly renovated with nice sea view towards Piran. Only about 15 mins walk along the coastal path into Piran. We had dinner which was excellent and good value - fresh fish and vegetables/salad. Breakfast buffet was great - extensive and included in the price. We were happy.

Extra charge for parking - but to be fair to hotel the parking is limited so by charging I guess they keep it available for guests. Many hotels charging for this now. Something was wrong with the shower head - it did not fit in the fitting so could not adjust height etc.

The hotel is located in a picturesque bay. Inner city of Piran can be easily reached in 20 minutes by walk. Breakfast was excellent with a more 4 star variety. As a nice gesture there were also Easter specialties served. Rooms are okay but nothing extraordinary. Bathroom was clean, beds were comfortable. We can only recommend.

There are limited number of parking places that can be problematic during summer period. Parking place costs 11,90 euro per night. Hotel is situated on bottom of a very narrow and steepy street. Not the easiest one to access but don't be afraid when you see the road for first time :)

Pets are very welcome in all areas.

Hotel team was helpful, friendly, always at our service. Breakfast was OK, the table was full. The hotel was right on the beach and not far from the old city. At the beach there were enough sun beds and umbrellas. It was easy to access water. I liked the best the hotel staff, location, and the hotel parking.

The room was the smallest one I've ever been. I should pay more attention while I was making the reservation.

Very nice hotel, located just in front of the beach so it takes 3 minutes to go from your room to the sea. Breakfast was good and fresh. Our room was big enough and with a very nice view both of the nearby lake and of the sea. All the staff was very polite and helpful. The bar on the beach has a good menu with good prices.

Seeing the price of the room, the parking should definitely be included in the rate and not to be paid extra (19.00 euros per day)

The staff were all unbelievably friendly, polite, and professional in everything they did. So much attention to detail, everything was taken care of perfectly. Also, while the hotel was fully booked during our stay, it didn’t feel like it. The breakfast buffet was also very good, and the food at the beach bar great, especially at very reasonable prices. The location is perfect right on the sea, a perfect couple get-away!

The only small improvement is that the coffee at the breakfast buffet could be better. We ended up ordering from the bar, which cost extra, but was much better.
