Excellent breakfast.

The place was very nice, but they have cats all over the property both inside and outside. It appeared that they did not go into the rooms but roamed elsewhere throughout the property. Our friend has a severe cat allergy and was very stuffed up in the morning.

Perched on the top of the a hill overlooking Regua's bridges, this cozy guesthouse feels secluded and at the same time is only a quick drive or walk to several sights and restaurants in the city. The staff were friendly and eager to recommend activities. The room was a good size and contained a nice shaded balcony, in the event you wanted to hide from the sun. Those who want to swim or lay out in the sun can enjoy the pool. WiFi was strong and fast. Breakfast had a variety of options and an array of fresh juices. We rented a car, but the property does offer transfers should you take the train there. We will be back!

Best B&B I've ever stayed. This old house has been perfectly maintained and redesigned to fit a handful of guest rooms. Walking in represented felt like time travel and an amazing experience to the senses. Breakfast had a lot of options and wi-fi was superb. Was worried about this as I stayed at this place for 5 days while working remote, but connection was above expectations with an average speed of 250mbps. Staff was also very friendly and helpful when it came to recommendations for wineries and restaurants. Location was great too because the town was 5 minute drive away which was very convenient if not wanting to drive much for restaurant options in the evening.

Being close to town means its not as quiet as being in the middle of nowhere like other accommodations in the area may offer but was OK for us. I would recommend use this accommodation to visit the wineries in the area and maybe move to a accommodation in Pinhao area to visit the ones in that area to avoid driving ~40 mins each way to Pinhao.

We stayed in a wonderful room outside the main house with a terrace overlooking the pool and gardens and the beautiful terraced landscape on the other side of the river. The host was warm and welcoming as he showed us around the property. The breakfast was made to order along with selections of breads, fruits and cereals. They also catered to a gluten free diet. The hotel was close to town so if you wanted you could walk there. All in all, a lovely, comfortable hotel that we wished we could have stayed longer at

The breakfast offered was delicious, pastries/bread, delicious cheeses, variety of fruit juices, egg omelettes. The view from our bedroom door was unreal and the pool was relaxing. The hotel is only a 15-min walk from the train station and there is a shortcut path that is even faster. It is a steep uphill but very doable. There were many restaurants in town to eat at, the host was able to give us some great recommendations. The Douro Museum was also a fun place to visit.

- Location is walkable from train station and the nearby restaurants/bars. - Beautiful property, all around, with great views. - Friendly staff. - Good breakfast. - Comfy enough bed. - Huge double shower.

- Imperfect ventilation or plumbing in the bathroom; some stinkiness remained. And from I remember, there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, as is common in Europe. - If you are thinking of walking up from the train station, note that it's an uphill walk; perhaps not advised for suitcases. (I.e., nothing too terrible.)

The property is a lovely old house full of lovely things. The room was very comfortable and the whole place was very clean. The pool was excellent and there was a jacuzzi too. The young woman who welcomed us was friendly and helpful and allowed us an early check-in. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choices. It made a great base to explore the Douro and I'd advise anyone to give it a try.

beautiful house, very good room bathroom, clean and comfortable. great staff, special thanks to Paula and Manuela. very friendly and nice! we could charge our electrical car at the house which was also perfect. feel like home (with great breakfast)

no snacks or small foods in the kitchen, since we were traveling with kids, it is handy. our first room was with bad smell, they quickly replaced us in another room (nice but not triple) and we got short one bed (replaced by extra small bed) for our son. that was a bit uncomfortable for us

It was like a mini-oasis. We loved the pool and the honesty bar, the cat friends, the lovely garden, and the view from our room. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and we got a great night’s sleep. The breakfast was adequate, and we enjoyed the fresh fruit and eggs.

We didn’t really see many staff members/hosts. Our check-in was early, which we really appreciated, but it seemed very rushed, kind of as if we were an inconvenience to the man who checked us in.

This Casa is meant to be your second home while in Regua and you also get to be pampered. The kitchen opens for breakfast at 8:30 and you can request your eggs to be prepared for you as you wish. Manuel, the son of the owners, spoke English and was most helpful. The home is decorated with exquisite taste, the pool a lovely lounge area, birds sing to you from their cages, 3 kitty cats are available for play, and some rooms have a balcony to enjoy the sunset as you look out over Regua and the Douro river. Our four day stay was a delight and we were sorry to leave.

My only complaint is the dog in the neighborhood that liked to bark early in the morning.
