Airways Hotel

There's so much to like about the Airways. Its location above the airport is sensational and they make full use of the views across the runways. The design makes it one of the truly exceptional hotels of the region, with comfortable roomy common spaces to encourage guest interaction and a feeling that you're staying in a giant mansion rather than a hotel. I love the books scattered liberally and attractively everywhere, the airy feel and the aesthetics. The staff are keen to please (although sometimes still learning on the job). The fitness centre has a small lap pool that's cleverly incorporated into the space. The wifi works well. A particular shout-out to the staff in the Business Centre - several times I ran to them with a short notice printing request and a USB, and they cheerfully did it instantly and in colour. Compare that to an equally expensive hotel (starting with H) that we were in for a couple of days, and where I had to send a request by email three times in order to get a poorly printed black and white sheet a couple of hours later - much less fun showing that to a Departmental Secretary the next day.

Only minor quibbles were that the hot water system was on the blink in the older wing, and they were having problems with the lift. Also, while I appreciated an upgrade to a 'loft' room in the new wing late in the stay, I couldn't get the telescope provided focused on anything, let along the planes.

the quietness and the well-furnished shared spaces. the bar and restaurant staff were very friendly. the transportation when i needed to go out of the hotel, the guys were very helpful and punctual with their service.

my access card at one stage did not allow me to get into my floor, so i had to come down to the reception again and waited for quite a while before i got served. (there was a group ahead of me that was checking in so i had to wait to get served and my access card to be activated again)

Room are Amazing the Coffee Shop and Mini Chocolate Shop was Super Good FO, HK, Café staff & Spa staff was amazing We love stay in Airways because the Accommodation and Good spa they have

The food are not in my expectation as they have new chef My Nutella Pizza is uncooked, the Beef Lasagna was cold. Staff in Restaurant was not aware as I ordered waffle in Breakfast never have it until we finished

it was clean, smelt beautiful, comfortable, the majority of the staff were fantastic. The service at the airways is exceptional from the time I was collected from the airport to the time they dropped me off. The gym and pool were great and the lounges very nice. The food was tasty and the selection at the breakfast service covered all tastes and diets.

There was nothing I didn’t like! it is expensive but it is worth it and compared to others I have stayed in Port Moresby- it is by far superior in every way. The only experience I had that was not to the usual high standard was when I tried to book a massage- they were booked out and the lady that served me was less than pleasant and not very helpful - but that was the only thing!

The Airways is one of the most stylish hotels for business in the Pacific. It’s not a resort but it is very comfortable and airy, with beautifully designed shared spaces and generous rooms. The location above the airport is amazing.

The hot water was hit and miss

Our room was so far away it was ridiculous, especially as hotel seemed almost empty. Maybe we were penalized for using booking,com? Strange squeaky noise all night outside. No elevator and we had to schlep our 4 bags down at 05:30. No apples in room (our friends got apples!)

Always an absolute pleasure to stay here... although I must admit that the pool area is starting to look a little tired.

Slight hiccup at check in process. It took 3 attempts (carting my bags back & forth each time) to finally get the room I booked. The first room already had another guest in it & the second had a different bed configuration to that requested.

Very nice hotel close to the airport. Staff was amazing en very helpful. Big room with comfy beds, airco and well insulated. Amazing buffet style breakfast and for dinner options out of 3 restaurants. Free shuttle bus service to the airport.

Very friendly, helpful staff in a very accommodating resort style accommodation. The treetop restaurant over-looking the airport is a gem.

The staff are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The food was very good & lots of choice. The security is first rate. Lots of lounges & seating areas. Very close to the airport.
