Cedarwood Lakeside Motel & Conference Venue

The most amazing location on the lake front. Loved the view from the apartment,

The property is tired didn’t like the look of the swimming pool or spa as need renovation. Carpets in apartment need replacing just felt a bit dated and tired .

Wonderful spot just out of town, next to the lake and we were located in a room directly adjacent to the lake. Staff were very knowledgeable about local attractions. Rooms were very clean and contained everything we needed.

Room size was enough to fit a double bed and not much else. People with mobility issues need to take extra care. No Sky TV (Cable TV) was available which would have been a plus.

The motel unit was extremely clean, tidy, well equipped and organised. Good heat pump. Netflix. Beautiful location, with amazing views of the lake and surrounding area at the back of the motel. Friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of information provided. Parking close to the unit. Reading books and dvds available to borrow.

We were disappointed that the advertised pool and spa were cold and not clean. We were looking forward to using them, but were unable to, especially in winter. The outside garden and pool area could benefit from hiring a gardener to make it more attractive.

The location was nice, right in front of the lake. We didin't have a lake view from the room, but we could just go outside. Big queen-sized beds and a kitchen. Very comfortable.

When we arrived at 4 pm, we went to the reception to check-in, but no one was there. We rang the bell, which we were supposed to do, but no answer. After 20 mins waiting around, a guy came out, probably sleeping, and asked us our name and ID, and gave us a key and told us our room was right there. No apology, no explanation of the facility, nothing. We had to ask other guests how to check-out early morning and also, they told us about the bugs problem at night. If we didn't know that, our room would have been covered with the bugs!

Good location at lakeside about 4 miles out of centre near the Airport . Helpful staff . Clean and comfortable accommodation in cabins at reasonable price . The complex is a bit dated and could be benefit from a refresh . Particularity the leasure facilities.

The Little swimming pool looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned for a long time and same for the hot tub which was a shame as would have been great to use either or both in the good weather . The whole open area and lawn in centre just looked scruffy .

Loved it, waking upto the sunrise shining through our window and the sounds of the beautiful Lake. Stayed here for 2 nights 3 days and it felt like home away from home. The staff were lovely. The Room 9 we were in had everything a house would have! The pool and spa was really nice and theres also another room with a Spa that stays open 24/7 and how good is that! We got to stay in until 11am so we could catch up on sleep from doing activities for 2 days straight! This motel is everything good for a family, I’d love to stay here again!

I didn’t really like the shower at all! The water pressure was not it, especially if you’re away on holiday and the only thing on your mind at the end of the cold day is a nice hard hot shower!

Sheets were not clean. Had weird stains. The kitchen towel had horrible smell & didnt feel dry The entire cottage could use some more light. It was very dim in living area. The kitchen appliances are very aged. A soap dispenser in kitchen & bathroom would have been nice. The TV took way too long to connect to wifi & was frustrating to use.

Fantastic view from our end room through large windows and doors to the Lake. Quiet and peaceful local area. Jetty (though popular with water birds as a perch) gave good access to Lake. Spacious rooms. Although we didn’t use them the pool and spa looked great.

A bit far from main centre of Rotorua but that is also why we chose it (peace and quiet and security). A local shopping centre was not far away (included groceries, fuel, take away food, etc). Gardens and lawns would have looked better with a cut and weeding but it had been wet. If like everywhere else, staff are probably hard to find. Furnishings, kitchen and bathroom were standard but comfortable and clean and all we needed for a restful, good value 2 night stay. The bird life love the jetty so watch your step!

We loved the location by the lake. The property was very clean and comfortable. A peaceful location not far from supermarkets and the main attractions of Rotorua.

There was no one on reception when we arrived at around 5.30pm despite saying it was open till 9pm. The door was locked. The next day no one was on reception again when I wanted to buy some washing powder. The children’s play area and pool are a little run down.

Loved the family/ child friendly room, amenities and the location was so picturesque! Was so relaxing with the lovely views away from the hustle and bustle of the city! We so enjoyed our stay and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Very cost effective especially when you want to enjoy the sights, sounds and many fun/ scenic places to visit in Rotorua! Loved the restaurants too!

The only downside was the many roadworks which made getting to and from Cedarwood challenging at times as there were many events happening in Rotorua all at the same time.
