I had the studio, which has a small kitchenette, which was great for not having to go out every day for dinner (as I stayed five days). The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I had to do the "early breakfast" as I had to leave for work before eight in the morning, which meant they brought whatever I ordered to my fridge during the afternoon (I never thought it would be possible to get a daily avocado ;)) The rooms are enchanting if you like something special and from the studio you look directly on the gracht. Thanks again to the great staff! I had a wonderful time.

The only thing you should know is that in the studio you can´t open the windows in the room, but only in the bathroom. I don´t know about the other rooms.

Room was good with a lovely view of the canal. The property was in a quiet location but with easy access to the city. Breakfast was very good, and staff catered for individual requirements. Having it delivered to the room was especially good. Although a bit small the room was very clean and had all the facilities required. The room would suit two people who weren't planning on spending lots of time in the room. Utrecht is a great place to visit with lots to do and is well located to explore other cities.

A room safe would be a good additional so valuables could be left. Although not an issue for us the spiral staircase is steep.

It's a characterful old canalside house and our room overlooked the canal. It was very quiet and restful, with no traffic passing by. It was lovely to wake up to the canal view and have a delicious breakfast sitting by the window in our room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the old city of Utrecht, which is peaceful and untouristy, and picturesque. We stayed here and travelled into Amsterdam, only 25 minutes by train. Highly recommended!

The water pressure in the shower was a bit low, but that's all.

First of all, this is a charming hotel in a wonderful location on a canal. For one night we had the large family room with the garret, and it was so nice (though steep steps!). The room was large and sunny. For the other nights, we had a very nice large twin room. Bathrooms were very nice in both rooms - lovely, fluffy towels. Linens were very cozy. Every morning, a large silver tray of delicious breakfast items was delivered to our room: eggs, croissants, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a very nice selection of jams, etc. The room has a Nespresso coffee maker and electric kettle with plenty of coffees and teas (and chocolates!). There were plenty of outlets for charging electronics. The rooms are very eclectically decorated with crystal chandeliers, antiques, groupings of vintage photos - very nice homey feeling - totally unlike a regular hotel room! Lovely staff!! They made us feel very welcome and helped us with directions, etc. Plus, they have the most delicious goodies in the lobby!

It wasn't much of a problem for us (in our 70s) but there isn't an elevator (we knew this beforehand). The staff helped with our suitcases when we arrived and would have when we left but we didn't bother them as we had to leave very early. They did offer to bring breakfast and help with luggage, we declined. Only one issue, we had a problem contacting them the night before we left, ringing the lobby bell several times in an hour and calling. If we had been locked out, it would have been a problem with no one answering within a reasonable time. Other times they answered and we were informed one morning when our breakfast was to be late - by only 20 minutes! Very nice.

Breakfast was abundant and delicious. Fresh fruit and juice, yogurt, quality bakery articles, coffee etc. Everything you need to start your day in lovely Utrecht. The room was spacious, well-lit, quiet and had a nice view on the canal.

Some room furniture and other amenities (e.g. in the bathroom) were a bit run down, nothing to put you off, though. It would be nice if there were a breakfast room. Being an old building, there is no elevator and climbing up and down the stairs can be challenging when carrying heavy luggage (fortunately the friendly owners will gladly offer to do this for you).

Lovely, comfortable and very clean small property with a unique, quirky atmosphere. We instantly felt very much at home. The location is great, very close to the center yet very quiet. Breakfast was served in the room and was very copious. communication was easy and despite coming late we could check in very smoothly on our own. This hotel really didn’t feel like a hotel but more like a special secret homestay for those lucky enough to know about it!

There is nothing we didn’t like. Something to note though : We stayed in the family room which is lovely and has a mezzanine with two single beds for the kids. This was perfect for us but the steps to the mezzanine are EXTREMELY steep so this room should definitively not be booked by families with small children (ours are teenagers so no problem ).

A beautiful hotel, full of character. My room was spacious and had a wonderful view of the Oudegracht. The location is very convenient, less than 10 minutes from the train station (careful: it's the Utrecht Vaartse Rijn, not the Utrecht Central Station) and also very close to the city's busy center, where one can find the majority of the shopping and dining options lined up along the canal. The breakfast is served in the room and it is more than adequate. If you have any specific requests, they are accommodated. A truly wonderful stay!

There was a something that the housekeeping had forgotten, but it was taken care of as soon as I mentioned it. I wish I could have stayed for more nights.

The location is perfect...nice and quiet at night, and during the day for that matter. Breakfast was delivered to our room promptly at the time we chose. We loved watching traffic on the Canal each morning as we ate our continental breakfast. We will be happy to stay here again.

I won't say that this is something we didn't like; it is really more an observation, just to let people know in case they have mobility issues. There is no lift.

The hotel (more spcifically a B&B) is peacefully situated around 20 mins walk from the station and city centre. The room we had (D on the second floor) was a good size with small table and chairs, separate bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. From the 2 large windows we had a lovely view over the Oudegracht (old canal). The young female employees we met were both charming and very helpful. The excellent, substantial breakfast (rolls, croissants, boiled egg, cheese, ham, jam, fresh orange juice, fresh fruit salad and joghurt) is served to the room at the time designated by the guests.

Please bear in mind, though not necessarily intended as criticisms: As in many old houses in Holland (which this is) the stairs are steep and hence not easily negotiable for persons with mobility issues. There is no guest lounge or dining room. The water pressure, at least on the 2nd floor, was rather weak, which made showering a short, water-saving affair. One point for the management: the floors could be cleaner (i.e. washed with water between guests and swept or vacuumed every 2nd day).

fabulous location on the canal lovely breakfast in the room good vegetarian options. Quirky and characterful

As it’s an old building it’s very creaky on the floorboards you can hear people next door walking around and you can really hear the front door slam hard! Windows are single pane so can hear outside noise and no A/C but it being an old building it’s to be expected Oh and staircase is crazy steep! No lift Nice but sleep was a little affected
