Best Western Plus City Hotel Gouda

The hotel is located within walking distance from Central Station and the old town, the shower was big and the 'bathroom' stayed dry while showering. The breakfast smelled amazing (did not eat there) and the staff was very friendly and competent.

There was no separate bathroom, sink was behind a shoulder high wall and shower had an open entry right next to it. Additionally the light sources were distributed quite strangely, there was no room light for the bed area and the entry light was the same switch as the shower light.

For anyone driving into Gouda, the location is actually the best of both worlds. The parking garage is easy and links up directly to the hotel (follow the sign to the right... even though the hotel is to the left). The city center, as well as the train station, is easily walkable. It makes a nice base to explore the area. The breakfast is outstanding, with all the expected basics for international travelers, as well as a few rotating treats (poffertjes one day, omelets the next). The interior is also quite quirky at times, and quite interesting. A really excellent hotel.

Perhaps I misread it, but the hallway signs didn't always seem to direct me to my room by the fastest path. Otherwise, nothing really to nitpick.

The place offered me a decent deal for a two night-stay, my room was large, the bed was really comfortable and the room had a lot of amenities, Wi-Fi coverage was excellent in my room on the 1st floor. All things considered I would say I was satisfied with the stay at the hotel.

I would say that the breakfast could be improved for a little bit, especially for a four-star hotel. I've been in many three-star hotels where the breakfast was more consistent than here. Maybe a few more dishes would change the scenery!

We had a large, comfortable room and the breakfast was excellent. The location was good - it's right on the canal on one edge of the town centre, so you don't have to drive far into the town (the car park was well signposted), but it's only a short walk into the town centre along a canal down some pretty streets. We had dinner in the hotel one night and there was a limited menu, but the food was good. The 12 noon checkout meant that we could spend plenty of time continuing to explore the town on the day we were leaving. The staff all spoke good English. I would stay here again.

There was building work taking place across the road from our room, but this wasn't the hotel's fault.

We were given a room upgrade, which provided us with a very pleasant experience, as the accommodations were very spacious, very comfortable. Very good breakfast and attentive service. Very well located: quiet place, but close to everything. The restaurant does not have many options, but offers very satisfying meals, worth trying.

Nothing to mention. The apartment view was to an internal area, but, of coarse, it happens.

The hotel is connected to the neighboring parking garage and close to the city center. The room was very nice.

It would’ve been nice to have a discount for the garage. Arriving in the early afternoon, there was no small store to get food in the hotel, or even a vending machine. The restaurant next door was not open yet. The closest restaurant was in the center.

This hotel has all the ingredients for a great stay in Gouda. Comfy beds, nice bathrooms, ours had a lovely bathtub for soaking away our muscle aches from a long bike ride. Also has secure overnight bike storage which was important to us. The breakfast is sufficient but very crowded although to be fair we stayed on a Friday night so should be expected that the hotel is fully booked on a May weekend.

This is a good choice to meet all the comfort expectations. However the location is a bit outside the center of Gouda.

The room is amazing - I would not recommend rom with 🛁 bath tub -I slipped because of the water and hurt myself really bad there is a high concrete at the side of the bathtub -but except that room amazing staff amazing location amazing -also only bad thing I could add the temperature -was no heating -no way to make room warmer than 20 degrees - they had whole hotel in automatic air condition at 20 degrees -only way to make room warmer was to turn off air condition -for the cold air -and extra blankets -no heating device no way to put air condition to warm inside the room -the only negative thing we had about this -amazing breakfast -amazing room amazing bed all amazing except the 🥶 cold in the room -and if by mistake you were opening the lights during night the air condition was starting again for 20 degrees -which it happened to us and imagine making ice cold room over night keeping you at 20 degrees

Freezing rooms -no way to heat room -automatic air condition for the whole hotel at 20 degrees - just to turn that off and extra blankets - no way to turn air condition at 23-24 degrees let’s say -no heat device in the room -great beds great cleaning staff and rooms everything amazing except this thing that kind of turned us into ice buckets over the night

The room was spacious and comfortable with the safe deposit box, the refrigerator and electric kettle. BBC and CNN among the TV channels.

The wifi was a little bit slow. The level of cleaning varied from day to day like missing soap, toilet paper or coffee cups and plastic glasses. The reception was helpful, however.
