Hotel ten Cate Emmen

I really liked the idea of having a little tea-coffee corner in the room. The bed was extra comfortable and I loved the idea of the slippers that were made in a way of helping the environment. The amount of variation of the food at breakfast was really good. The armchair in the room was really comfortable.

It was a bit cold in the room after a while. While I was sleeping I did not feel cold, but the slippers were an excellent idea. I missed the option of having bathrobes in the rooms, but it was not necessary. The chair was not as comfortable as the armchair.

The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful. They spoke multiple languages, normal for Dutch people. The hotel was very clean, you could smell the detergent, it was a nice healthy smell. The restaurant looked very nice, trees and plants filled a dinning area, we didn't use it, but in hindsight I wish we had. Breakfast was good, there was enough to eat and drink. You could even get a coffee to go. We left our car in the spacious car park and rode our bicycles into town. Bike path right into the town and 2 minutes max from the zoo.

There was nothing that I felt was missing.

The lighting in the room was very muted, especially the ceiling lights - enough that it was annoying. A small fridge in the room would have been appreciated. The room was the first on the floor after the elevator, which did lead to some noise from other guests passing in the corridor.

Friendly staff, comfy bed, nice room and bath. I only stayed for a night so didn't use many of the facilities, but breakfast was pretty good. Person at reception did their best to help me find a quiet room. Easy walking distance to city centre and Wildlands.

This is only really applicable to light sleepers, but the hotel is right next to a main road, and although the hotel seems well insulated against noise, I'd still recommend earplugs. More veg options for the hot breakfast would also be good.

We back to this hotel again after 3 weeks of being there with ours son(mini boss) . Staff very friendly We love the ladie from breakfast in black hair (she was working yesterday and today on breakfast) She was very nice and smiling women. Also the gentleman who was working on night shift are was very nice. Reception team very friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere at all. Food in hotel restaurant was delicious

Amazing place, very gokd localisation just 10 minutes to Zoo and city centre. Staff very friendly. We arrived about 3am we get the key card to the room and we can pay when we wake up. We wake up late for breakfast but we still was available to have breakfast. The arts on the walls stole my heart 😍 definitely recommend and definitely we will be back if we will be around ❤️❤️❤️

everything… staff- friendly, attentive, professional, excellent! Rooms - clean, comfortable, and beautifully presented. Food - scrumptious, delicious, great breakfast, the best steak I’ve ever eaten! Bar - great beer and fantastic G&T. Cannot fault our stay and will hopefully go back.

Free parking available. Breakfast was delicious. Restaurant and bar offer excellent drinks and food. The hotel is located just a few mins away from the small zoo and a 10 mins drive from beautiful forests where several hiking paths are clearly marked. If you love nature, it’s a must!

it would be nice with a doorbell, so you are not stuck outside at night if you don’t have a phone (or it’s out of battery) and you come home late at night!

the hotel has good and helpful staff and very good restaurant with interesting menu and friendly waiters.

For a 4* hotel the room was a little small and dark. There was not AC in the room.
