Hosteria Las Quintas Hotel & Spa

I don't usually write long reviews, but I'm making an exception for Hosteria Las Quintas. Mexico is full of hotels with this type of concept - colonial style rooms, some gardens, pools, restaurant etc. There are several even in Cuernavaca. This is the best I have stayed in. Although it doesn't look much from the outside, what you can't appreciate from the photos is the size of the property. The gardens are very large, full of stunning vegetation and well laid out so that nothing is on top of anything else. Even when the hotel is busy, you don't feel it too much. The attention to detail in the hotel generally is exceptional. The rooms are large, attractive and well designed, down to the smallest detail. There are electrical sockets exactly where you need them, the shower doesn't spray water all over the bathroom etc. This sounds simple but it's very uncommon in my experience of these hotels in Mexico. Whoever designed this place really thought about what it's like to be a guest. The restaurant is large and very pleasant, overlooking the gardens, with super efficient and attentive staff. There are two good sized swimming pools, one with a jacuzzi, and a third natural pool filtered by plants for dipping in. The staff are extremely friendly and overall it's a very relaxing place to stay. The WIFI quality is excellent - I had to do several video calls both in my room and in the restaurant while there, and it was completely reliable. I'm sure that prices depend on the seasons and of course the room, but I had a suite with a lovely terrace overlooking the gardens, and the value for money was extraordinary. The cost of a Holiday Inn in the USA/UK. I live in Mexico City so I'll certainly be back here, and if you're thinking about booking and the price range is what you're looking for, you won't be disappointed.

Two tiny things that weren't a problem for me but could be super easily done: The weights in the gym are ancient and incomplete. For the cost of a new set, and given that they'll last like 15 years, it seems silly not to replace them. It was the one part of the hotel that looked 'descuidado', which stood out given how immaculate the rest was. Not putting candles on the restaurant tables at night felt like a missed opportunity, as it's such a nice space. Again, not a complaint but an observation.

Friendly staff - as I had a pretty exposed ground floor level room reception changed me into a more private room after the first night without discussion. Beautiful grounds - if you can look past the sometimes a bit garish decoration/statues you will notice the beautiful greenery. The little lake is stunning. Location - ok. Not in the center but it’ll take you 10 minutes and around 70 pesos to get into town or to interesting restaurants.

Internet connection could be better.

they should REALLY BE CAREFUL with accommodations. you cannot mix family&CHILDREN, with single CHILDLESS PEOPLE!!! pleaseeeee RESPECT humans who chose NOT TO HAVE KIDS! you cannot be awake on a leisure WEEKEND at 6:23 in the morning to nasty kids noise!! you cannot accept kids under 14 AT THE JACUZZI!!! (it’s not even healthy for them) you have, PLEASE, YOU HAVE TO SEPARATE KIDS FROM ADULT AREAS!!! put an area for kids and families who DONT CARE TO BE bothered BY KIDS NOISE, PIERCING ABERRATION NOISE AT 6 in the MORNING!!!!!!!

First of all, it is necessary to highlight the wonderful gardens that surround the entire hotel area. It is a great place to relax, recharge and get inspired. The accommodation was also great - clean, spacious enough, with a small terrace. Every day the cleaning women came to ask if I needed to clean the room. The hotel staff was very kind and I thank all of them for such a great experience.

The only thing that I would change (or add) - there could be a fridge in the room.

The hotel grounds are set up as a large courtyard with wonderful gardens and a very calming atmosphere. It is encircled by an historic stone structure that creates an oasis of tranquility, peace and relaxing. The gardens are marticuslary maintained and complemented with art pieces. The staff is very nice and attentive The room was very large in traditional Mexican design, and the king size bed very comfortable. Everything is very clean and functionally equipped The balcony is amazing, overlooking the gardens. Breakfast was included and also excellent. Overall an outstanding experience.

the room was reasonable (especially considering that we booked it at the absolute last minute). The breakfast and restaurants were excellents. The gardens are beautiful.

It was uncomfortable that the room was on the ground flor and one of its walls was a large window, so we had to keep the curtains closed.

The room was incredibly comfortable. Loved the private patio, the balcony view, the comfortable beds, the jacuzzi tub, the Spanish tile. It was such a relaxing and rejuvenating stay!

I didn't like that there wasn't filtered water in any of the common areas. They provided us with a few small bottles of water in the room, but I had to ask multiple times at the restaurant for them to fill my water bottle for the day and night.

This is a beautiful hotel with open and nice gardens, the hotel is clean and has a beautiful Mexican style. The Sunday breakfast is absolutely nice with gourmet food from Mexico, France, Japan, etc...

The only bad side is that other guests went out on Saturday night (which seems common in Cuernavaca as people from Mexico City goes over there for the weekend) and got extremely drunk and woke us up at night (at about 3 am), they were loud and rude and the hotel staff was unable to control them.

has beautiful gardens and even though it’s an old hotel they have tried to renew some of their furnitures and installations. congratulations for a very clean and peaceful hotel !

it was very complicated to arrive because there is a lot of traffic but it doesn’t matter because you may think it’s going to be noisy but it doesn’t!

Swimming pool and gardens are fenomenal. Very well kept and the landscaping is nice.

I asked if we could do late checkout ( an hours, 2 tops) and even though I understand it was a busy weekend and it was all booked, I think that the response and the attitude towards it could have been better. My parents had a dessert on Friday night and they said it was bad and the restaurant was empty. Wish they would have loved the dessert.
