Melia Luxembourg

Breakfast: good, good selection, nice tables, friendly staff. Room: good bed, plenty of space, good desk for work, sufficient power outlets to charge devices and connect PC. Other guests, and I, found the rooms very quite. Lead to great sleep but also concentrated work. Location: Just what I needed, as I was at a conference at the adjacent European Convention Centre Luxembourg (ECCL). Also close to the airport and the (free) tram line that connects the area with the city centre. Restaurant: Enjoyed 2 dinners, one in a group of 4, one alone. Both good food (tuna steak one evening; burger 2nd evening). Staff friendly and helpful, also for quick drink first night, upon late arrival.

Breakfast begins too late. The first morning I was one of a handful of other guest who had to request a brown paper bag breakfast as we needed to be at the ECCL at 7 am but breakfast only starts at 7. The brown paper bag breakfast was miserly, no beverage at all, and only a ham and cheese sandwich on plain white bread, a very unripe banana and a small dry bun. Surely a 4-star hotel can be more flexible. After 3 days/3 nights I had to call housekeeping to get 2 towels which had been used 3-5 times each replaced. Again, most 4-star hotels replace towels after 3 nights, during a 6 night stay.

The staff is excellent. Very cordial and helpful. However, the location was a bit far from the city centre but that's fine. There was a room service as well (charged) but we had to call a few times to get things done. In sum, I think their staff is the USP. They were kind enough to reach out even before my stay to ask about food preferences, allergies. Also, they let us know that there is a concert scheduled in front of the hotel so would you like to change the dates. This was really good gesture.

We loved the design of the hotel and the location; it’s not in the historical city center but you can get there in about 10 min with the tram (public transport is free in Luxembourg) or you can also walk (25 min). The plaza and the surroundings are beautiful, with museums, towers and the philharmonic just ours; the restaurant was great but you want more variety there are also other options really close by and the staff was very welcoming and professional. We even had a small issue with one of our restaurant bills but it was handled beautifully at the checkout. Another nice touch: great quality toiletries. We loved it so much we stayed for one more night. Overall, I have nothing but great memories from here and we will surely come back.

Awesome hotel staff, very soulful ambience, well designed hotel room with excellent sleep experience - comfy & perfect sized bed, our favorite bathroom` amenities Rituals AND amazing view to Luxemburg downtown (we had last floor room with fantastic panoramic view - endlessly thanks to reception` folks). Great place to stay for 2 weekend nights to explore magnificent Luxembourg town. Btw Luxembourg` philharmonie and our favorite Michelle restaurant just few mins away

Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of food choices including lactaid milk!! The room was spacious and comfortable and you could choose not to have it cleaned for the duration of the stay. Nice and spacious working area. Sports center was amazing, especially the dry sauna and the hammam.

Have a drinking water fountain at the sports center. Fan/heat/AC adjusting in the room was not easy to control/adjust. The bathroom had no fan. The bathroom door could not be secured in place when open. It would have been nice to have a yoga mat in the room.

Everything in Melia Luxembourg is great: convenient location, big parking with electric charging nearby, pleasant new building, very friendly and welcoming stuff, delicious breakfast, amazing city views from the room. Really loved it and will definitely stay again when in Luxembourg!

Some details, not necessarily related to the hotel. Electric charging in the garage nearby was turned off during weekend (why?). We wanted to used the hammam in the hotel, but it was small and was already taken, so we had to wait.

Staff was extremely kind once we arrived. Location is great, it is close by to center and easy to take tram with 5 mins walk. Has a great walking path just outside, nice view and relaxing atmosphere. Rooms were clean, breakfast was also better than expected with a lot of options. There is paid indoor parking nearby and also free public parking which is a great option. Even got our nice Christmas chocolate when leaving, overall really nice experience.

Room was very comfortable and plenty of space, huge bed. Great breakfast, plenty to select from and chef can do fresh omelettes/eggs to your liking. Small gym and nice sauna, plenty of fresh towels etc. Located outside of town close to the Philharmonic/European Gov buildings, but is only a few minutes walk to the tram which comes every 3-4 minutes on weekdays, circa every 6 minutes at weekends. When on-board only takes 10minutes into town center. Free public transport is great in Luxembourg! Staff were friendly and helpful.

Housekeeping entered into the room on the first morning (0910) while we were still there, even though they were told not to when they called to the door. This was annoying. Mentioned it to reception after that and it didn't happen again for the remaining 2 days we spent there.

The hotel is located in a quiet corner and has lovely views over the surrounding areas. The staff was extremely welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast restaurant was surrounded by pine trees, giving you the feeling of bein immersed in a little forest. You can walk to the city centre or take the tram which can be reached after walking 2 minutes. The family room was spacious and I could enjoy a bathtub.

There are merely a few points I did not particularly like, namely that there is no hotel parking, only a separate covered parking for 30€/day nearby. The spa area is nice but far too small, with just two loungers. However the sauna itself is very nice. The family rooms all face the back of the hotel, rather than the city centre so you cannot enjoy the benefits the hotel offers to the fullest.

Excellent location in modern district, right next to concert hall and MUDAM, and easy to walk or get tram to the old town. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Comfortable room and excellent breakfast.

Only one thing - we were surprised and uncomfortable to find that dogs were allowed in the restaurant during breakfast. Don’t feel this is hygienic, and one of the dogs was barking so not relaxing. Would think twice about booking breakfast for that reason, which is a shame as everything else was great.
