Great location. Neighbour to St Nicolas Stairs, also in the heart of Gemmayzeh. 15 minute walking distance to Saifi Village, Martry's Squre, Roman forum and so many touristic places. Really helpful and kind staff. Also the atmosphere of the hotel is great. Delicious breakfast from Lebanese cuisine. Clean rooms with 7/24 electricity. If i visit Beirut again, will definitely stay here. Perfect place with a fair price! I

Wi-Fi was weak. But it's acceptable in current Lebanese situation. It would be great if there's a little wardrobe in the room. Our room was at 4'th floor and there was no elevator.

It's a great place to stay! My favourite thing was the great atmosphere, it's very social, easy going and it's great for meeting people. The location is great and the area is very safe and has many stores and restaurants nearby. The dorms & bathrooms were clean and there was free shower gel & shampoo in the showers. There are enough toilets on the floor so you wont have to wait to use one. The AC & electricity works great & without issues, the free breakfast in the restaurant down was superb, and theres free drinking water too downstairs. It has a lot of plants too which looks super nice and adds a nice touch. The people working there are super nice and will give you great recommendations and help you swiftly with every problem. Best hostel in beirut!

The staff is nice and helpful. They arranged for us to check-in in the middle of the night. The location is ideal, in a safe and trendy area. The breakfast is really good and served in a great area where you can chill with a nice drink in the evening too. You can meet a lot of very interesting backpackers from all around the world.

The stairs can be challenging with a big suitcase.

A nice hotel/hostel set in a nice and quiet neighbourhood (Sursock) on the picturesque Saint Nicholas Stairsway. Staff were friendly and every morning a hearty and delicious breakfast was served. The room itself is comfortable and clean. There is a nice vibe to the place, and the hotel itself has a very charming shabby-chic decor.

- Be prepared to walk up and down plenty of steps to get to the hotel. - Was difficult to control the water temperature in the shower, it either gets too hot or too cold. - Electricity took a break every morning for a couple of hours. Not sure what time it stopped in the very early part of the morning, but it usually started up again around 730/745am or so, Due to the situation in Lebanon this is normal. I just worked around it so not a deal breaker. - Facilities are a little old.

The Grand Meshmosh is located in a lively and arty area of Beirut (Gemmayzeh), very close (even walking distance) from other relevant areas in the city: Mar Mikhail, Ashrafiye, downtown and Hamra, at least. On the rue Gouraud, one can find uncountable eating places and cafés, as well as nice little shops and art galleries. The hotel's atmosphere is very friendly, with a welcoming staff that would always be there to answer my questions regarding how to arrive to places, how much to pay for this and that, what to visit in the city, etc. Enjoying the delicious Lebanese breakfast in the hotel's patio with a view on the St. Nicolas stairs was one of the best moments in the day. My room, located in the annex building, was very quiet and peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and good quality linen and towels were provided, which made my stay very pleasant. I would definitely reccommend the Grand Meshmosh hotel to anyone seeking for an affordable, non-luxurious but nice and clean place, with nice food and nice people.

Its location was literally perfect; on the Nicolas Stairs which is famous. And it is just a few steps far away the Gouraud Street which has a lot of cafes, bars, and restaurants. The Hostel itself also has a good bar and restaurant. The best things about this hostel are its location and its atmosphere; it is cozy and cool. Also, its breakfast is very good. It is clean enough but the building and the equipment are quite old so sometimes you can think that it is not clean enough but it is not about cleanliness it is about the appearance of the equipment. The beds are comfortable. The night staff was very good but I can't say the same thing about the morning staff; they were a bit morose. Finally, if you are looking for new, modern, and super clean equipment and a place, this hostel is not for you. But if you are looking for an excellent location, cozy spirit, delicious breakfast, and nice people, it is the right place. If I'll come again to Beirut, it is obvious that I'll stay here again.

If they put liquid soap instead of solid one, it would be better. And it would be better if they change the sheets and quilt cover because they were a bit old; there were some tears and dirt.

Really wonderful people running the hotel/hostel. They will do their best to help you figure things out, which means a lot because Lebanon is a bit insane right now with currency changes and power and internet outages. I recommend getting a sim card at the airport because by the hotel it's complicated and expensive. I also recommend downloading a Lebanese dollar exchange app on your phone. You probably won't get exactly what they tell you at the exchange office, but close. And definitely come with flexibility because no matter how people try, there will be challenges along the way. It's Lebanon after all. But that being said, and as a huge traveler I can truly say that my time in that amazing country was some of the best traveling I've ever done.

I loved my time there. Thank you.

Lively neighborhood, Near to the center and seaside avenue. WiFi, electricity, warm water all the time. Possibility to heat and cool with the air conditioner. Breakfast available and eating place (also bar) downstairs. Restaurants in the street everywhere.

Private rooms could be still chilly in the winter time.

During my stay at The Grand Meshmosh Hotel, several aspects stood out. The reception staff's willingness to resolve a booking issue with a discounted room upgrade was a customer-focused highlight. The hotel's central location near downtown Beirut and Mar Mikhael is a significant advantage for exploring the city. The hotel's bohemian ambience added to the overall experience provided excellent value for the price.

The absence of an elevator, which could be a challenge if your room is located above the first floor. However, this is somewhat understandable considering the hotel's size and location. Also, for future guests booking dorm beds, I'd recommend requesting lower bunks in your booking, as the upper bunks can be quite high and somewhat difficult to access.
