Grand Hotel Terme & SPA

This hotel is the best one I have stayed at in the past month in Italy! The rating should be much higher. It’s silly that it’s not! Efficient and kind staff, clean hotel, spa and rooms, beautiful decorations everywhere, I can’t even believe the spa! 3 saunas! a huge quiet resting room for after sauna, oh and ice! so you can ice and cold shower after sauna, the main hot tub/spa is gigantic and open until 1am! Spa and saunas close at 8 but you can also use them in the morning because check out isn’t until 11:30! I can’t say enough good things about this place!

A pool with salted water has nothing to do with the thermal bathes that are in neighborhood. This is not clear from description.

Grande Hotel Terme is a hotel of the past but still operating today despite the challenges of the pandemic and the issues, as a result, the whole town has faced. Once upon a time a thriving chic resort town the place suffered due to the lack of tourism and the pandemic. This hotel has managed to survive and despite some small issues, this was very good value for money. I had come for a rest after a month of walking my feet off. The room I was given had a great view although the aircon was somewhat weak. Luckily keeping the blinds closed as one should during hot days helped. My room (612) is located adjacent to the pool and rooftop and I loved this as I am a keen pool user. I had two extra spa treatments - a relaxation massage and a great pedicure. Both staff were delightful. The amenities of the pool - 2 thermal pools, resting areas and a 3 different types of saunas was fantastic. Staying there during the week I had the place almost to myself! Kindness and thoughtfulness are key in hospitality and tourism so if this Hotel wants to earn more money, rebuild itself and also help the town a greater focus on current trends, and needs of other Italians, foreigners (doesn't need to be alot) will make the great reviews and more paying guests roll in!

Traveling in Italy without very much Italian is at times tricky. For example, the wait staff had no English so they had to suffer my bad Italian :) :) However, as a hotel with lovely English speakers at reception, it would be a great idea if the menu could be translated for lunch or dinner. I also never knew that I could have eggs or what else was available and this could have been explained to me 1. by the reception English speaker or 2. by a fact sheet given to guests that serve the hotel in a way that makes it easy for non-Italians. I did order an omelet which cost extra which I found odd but oh well because Breakfast is great and caters to healthier options along with a superb array of cakes and brioche and meats & cheese. The interior is most likely still original and is now tired but one has to understand the economic problems the area has suffered in recent times. Chianciano Terme is past its glory but it has such huger potential - only they need keener marketing to make this the case.

I liked the hotel and for the amount of money paid, its facilities are amazing. The food of the restaurant is delicious and the choice of food at breakfast is vast.

To be honest, it does not look like a 4-stars hotel therefore it did not completely meet my expectations. It’s not very well kept. The staff is nice and very polite, except for the ladies who work in the spa. My friend and I both had a few moments of discomfort because of their attitude towards us. Nothing too serious though, for instance they did not smile once.

Extremely young aged staff requiring me to wear a mask between saunas and pools. "Requiring" is an euphemism.Recruiteers clearly didn't train them properly on how to deal with a client.Too bad I'll have to book elsewhere next time. It's a shame because location and room were just fine.

The thermal spa is small but cozy - fortunately the place was half empty and we could enjoy it for ourselves. Breakfast was tasty and the place is clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful

The hotel is dated, it has old rooms with a green carpet on the wall, a red moquette on the ground and furniture coming straight from the 60es ( a bit Shining’ Overlook hotel feeling). No place to properly hang or dry the bathrobes. Some areas in the SPA (like the shower ) would benefit from some renovation work. I found it quite pricey for the overall service
