Kathleens Country House

The bulding, room and staff were very nice. The breakfast food was very good and the ambience of the entire place is beautiful.

The shower flooded into the rest of the bathroom, so either the water is to powerful, or the drain isn't sufficient to handle it. A minor compaint, but I wish I could have had my own coffee as I had at other stays on our trip. I wasn't given enough at breakfast. The location is easy to get in and out of, and has good parking, but it's a bit far outside of the main part of town.

Excellent facilities and kind, friendly, attentive staff. Alice, the new owner, is an absolutely delightful lady and carries on in full the traditions of Kathleen. The breakfast was excellent and we appreciated the helpfulness of Margaret, the head waitress, and her colleagues.

Alice and her staff were very welcoming and helpful. The House was spotlessly clean and very well presented. It is in an excellent location. Easy parking and beautiful grounds. Our room was very good- traditional and comfortable. The breakfast was generous and delicious.

Nothing- all good

The country house was close to Killarny (5 minutes by car to an easily reachable parking spot) and the house itself looks amazing and also the interior is quite stunning. We had a large and nice room with a really comfortable bed, but my husband is rather tall so it was a bit too short for him. The breakfast was amazing and the only time everything was orderer from a breakfast menu with great choices. Also our host Alice was very nice and helpful to make our stay as pleasant was possible.

Our shower could not be closed properly as the mechanism to move the shower doors was broken.

This is a real gem. Wonderful staff particularly the lovely young lady who was in charge. Made me so welcome and gave me a hug when leaving. I left a face cream in the bathroom and she rang me to ask me if I'd like it posted. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Beds are extremely comfortable. The whole house is like a home with lovely seating areas for guests. Excellent parking and location. Great value for money. Wonderful breakfast and coffee constantly topped up. Great attention to detail.\ The best B&B I ever stayed in. I will back.

Excellent, homely, scenic, clean and comfortable. We were down for a funeral and my partner was able to come down last minute unexpectedly but I was still only charged the single rate, we just had to pay for the extra breakfast which I thought was so nice of the Manager and eased my already tight budget. Location was perfect as my family live in The Firies and funeral etc was there also. Bed was lovely and comfortable for the little time I got to spend in it.

I don't like to take from all of the many good points of this hotel but I would have liked a barista coffee, its just something I'm used to having with my breakfast and I'm unable to drink instant.

Kathleen’s Country House is ideally suited for exploring Kerry. Muckross House, the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula are very accessible, and when exploration is over, a mere five minutes by car brings you to a car park close to Killarney High Street, with a restaurant and/or public house every 50 metres. (And the parking is free after 18:30) The hotel itself is well laid out in attractive grounds with friendly and helpful staff. We spent a week there in May 2022, and would recommend it unreservedly to anyone who would like home comforts with all that a lively town can provide within easy reach.

Lovely hotel located a few kilometers outside of Killarney - close enough to drive into town quickly but far enough to be quiet and serene. Room had a nice pastoral view, beds quite comfortable. Coffee & tea in room (electric kettle), biscuits a nice touch. Breakfast was splendid.

Room was a bit chilly, even in July. Tried to turn on room and bathroom heaters (hot water radiators) but neither would heat up. Staff kindly gave us an electric space heater to compensate.

The staff were extremely welcoming and happy to answer any questions and make recommendations. The room was immaculate and well fitted out with two comfortable chairs and plenty of space. The breakfast was exceptional with loads of options and staff more than happy to meet extra requests like an earlier time. The location was ideal just a few minutes from Killarney but very quiet.

I like a larger bath towel - a bath sheet, but that is just my preference.
