Slow Gili Air

The villas are absolutely amazing. You get to choose your breakfast every morning and it gets brought to you on your own porch next to the pool. The place is very clean and you can see the staff put a lot of pride in their work. Everyone was very accommodating and the villa itself was wonderful. It’s centrally located on the island, but nothing is really far. It was so good that we even extended for another 4 nights!

Nothing we didn’t like! It might be good to know that Gili Air is part of Lombok, where the main religion is Islam and so several times of day you hear the mosque’s call for prayer. This also happens at 4am but with some earplugs, we had no issue with this.

We stayed for a few nights and loved the fact that the villa has its own private patio. The interior of the villa is very cozy, it has a mini-kitchen with the necessary utensils. The villa staff is extremely caring, helpful and friendly. We recommend trying spa services, great attention is paid not only to the massage itself, but also to additional rituals. The breakfast menu is wide and varied, the food is delicious.

In order to additionally order dinner or lunch to the villa, the menu selection is extremely small. The bikes they rent out could be better maintained , have a light on the front so they can be ridden after the sun goes down.

We loved everything about the place from the moment we got there til we left ! The villas were run by great German guy called Chris who was really nice and helpful. They upgraded us to a double villa as we had a bad experience with the flights over there. It really made up for it! The bungalows were well equipped and very comfortable. The beds were super comfortable with high quality bedding ( changed every day ). The air conditioning worked well plus the fan. We adored the bathrooms “inside outside “. basically no roof so you felt very much in nature. We loved looking at the stars at night when spending a penny. The Villas were Cleaned every day by very nice friendly efficient staff . Our breakfast was brought to us each morning and nothing was too much trouble. It was tasty and there was a variety of options . The pool was a delight and the gardens surprisingly big and well kept. We loved the privacy and often stayed at the villa most of the day . we be if there best places we have ever stayed. Should be rated 5 star not 4. The spa was really handy too. The therapists were very skilled and we loved indulging ourselves there frequently.

Nothing it was perfect .

Spacious villa, comfy bed & a cool outdoor shower/bathroom with nice toiletries to use. Beach towels, beach bag & sun hats in the room for you to use which was handy. Breakfast was delicious, the smoothie bowls are a must! Open space & pool area nice.

Not really a complaint, the fridge was full with drinks & snacks that you could buy so not much room to put your own things in which was a bit of a pain. Water refills were at reception rather than having your own machine. Staff couldn’t do enough for you, this was a bit much for us but that’s personal preference.

This is a really beautiful place to stay - it’s slightly off the beaten track so lovely and quiet, but still only 3 minutes from the (west facing, good for sunsets!) beach and a 5 minute horse and cart ride from the harbour. The facilities are all fantastic - the villas are gorgeous, with a huge private garden and lovely pool, and all very clean. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had in Indonesia. Very helpful staff - arranged a snorkelling boat trip with Captain Madi which was great. The spa is also lovely - one of the best massages ever from Wafi.

Fairly expensive (although arguably worth it)

We loved privacy and comfort of this place, communication with the staff was smooth and if there was anything we needed, it was arranged for us ASAP. We loved the pool and the spacious garden and massages were very relaxing as well.

They never repaired our room phone which wasn't working already on the day of our arrival and we have to keep asking for water but otherwise it was perfect and we truly enjoyed our stay. It was one of the most memorable places we have visited in Bali during our 2 month travel there.

Absolutely incredible property. We had the best time here and didn’t want to leave. - 10/10 breakfast - Extremely helpful and friendly staff - Easy to book trips (highly recommend private Snorkelling) - Wonderful massages in a beautiful spa area - Comfiest bed - Beautiful property overall and our individual villa was too - there was even thoughtful thoughts such as filtered water for brushing teeth (in glass bottles to help reduce plastic) - Can fill up reusable bottle in reception - Short walk from the harbour and in a great location overall. Turn right out of the hotel to follow along to the most beautiful sunset spots. Other side of the island has amazing snorkelling Recommendations: - Pink Coco for amazing food, cocktails and sunset views. The staff are amazing too. - Grand Sunset for a quieter place for a drink and to watch the sunset - Juju Restaurant and shop - Slow Spa

Having to leave!

It’s a small place with just 9 villas in a quiet location. Nice decor, outside bathroom, all that one might need. Great SPA.

I had an impression that swimming pool cleaning system wasn’t working, would improve that. Also there was a big outside space of my villa and I’d expect nice garden and instead it’s just empty place and partly dry grass. I’m a keen gardener, so always look for nice gardens.

Lots of room in the villa and great private pool to cool off in the afternoons. The grounds were beautiful and the entire vibe is upscale. They are in a part of the island far from most things so the night sky on most nights are amazing.

Had some construction noise during the day on their spa. Spa appointments were being done in villas adjacent to ours but generally not a problem but there’s a giant gap in the fence that let us peer in and vice versa. Some noise at night from near by properties but not to the fault of the resort, and it might not be audible if in the back villas.

The staff were absolutely great, villa was amazing, and the breakfast in the morning was excellent.

At the time we stayed there was no bikes available to use for free from the villa, as they were in the process of replacing them, wasn't too much of an issue as you can hire them elsewhere. Also, be ready for the 0445am wake up call from the prayers, which is played every morning from a loud speaker in the village 😀
