Puri Raja Hotel

Great hotel. It’s proper Bali. Two pools. One with swim up bar. Other with pergola bar. Breakfast included in raised open air restaurant where you can watch the waves on the beach Rooms have been refurbished. Decent sized bedroom and bathroom. Patient or balcony with twin settee out front. The managers and staff are superb. Most people at the hotel have been going for years - because it’s good The breakfast is first class and is included. Other meals are good and are well priced. We’ve tried other hotels. Some far bigger and more expensive but we keep coming back to Puri Raja

No complaints at all

We loved our stay at Puri Raga the restaurant is beachfront and breakfast is made to order. We stayed in the Super delux room which was refurbished during Covid as were most of the other rooms and the pool areas. The gardens have also been well maintained and are one of the things I love about this hotel. It was our 5th stay and it was soo good the see a lot of the same staff. I used the Spa for a massage and a facial and would recommend anyone staying to give it a go. We would most definitely stay here again.

· Everything about our stay at the Puri Raja was amazing. The staff are exceptional, so friendly and welcoming, ready to help in any way they can. The food was delicious and very well priced. My sons loved the all you can eat breakfast that was included in our stay and I must say the pancakes are the best. Our rooms were made up everyday and were always left very clean. The beds are so comfy, I wanted to bring my pillows home with me! The location was awesome, right in the middle of it all, great restaurants and gift shops galore!! The restaurant overlooks the beach, with great little beach bars all along. But the best of all was the sunset cocktails at the pool bar. We will definitely be returning!!

Great location across from the beach, front pool was great and rooms were comfy and clean. We booked very last minute whilst we were in Bali and the staff were extremely helpful to assist us so quickly

The pool chair covers are extremely hot to touch when in the sun because they are leather material

Puri Raja is a hotel we have stayed at so many times on our Bali holidays. This time as a couple but over the years with our teenage kids and with family and friends groups. We come back because the hotel makes the guests feel welcomed like family. They are quick to help if needed and genuinely the staff work super hard to make nothing you ask for to ever be a problem. There are 2 pools, a great restaurant over looking the beach and rooms are plenty big enough and have been nicely updated and renovated during Covid. New bathrooms too. Breaky is a great combo of all you can eat..fruit and cereal you serve yourself and then the hot meals are ordered and bought to your table. Eggs, pancakes, indo food, porridge, smoothies, mixed juices etc. We love it and the view is great. The hotel is on the beach but the property runs longways back towards the shops and restaurants. From room to lots of shops, supermarkets and pubs and restaurants is a 5 min walk! Beds are huge and rolm is promptly serviced during our breaky. They have lots of ground level rooms and has lots of ramps for accessibility. One thing we love about this hotel is how they have kept so many of their long term staff (not only after Covid but over years of our stays) where we know other hotels are known to get rid of experienced staff in favour of young new cheaper staff. We love their loyalty. Def a 10 out of 10 from us.

Nothing we didnt like.

The restaurant is opposite beach and the breakfast was great so were all the staff The grounds are beautiful well established and cared for as soon as you enter the hotel there is a great feel of calmness. The Hotel is 33 years old and are separate blocks of 2 stories, this is not a hotel for those who want modern pristine hotels but for those who want the old feel maybe a bit cracked around the edges, me I have been here a few times and it is the only place I want to stay, a lot if the guests are returning ones.

Wi fi could have been better

We enjoyed having the beach view at breakfast, the choices were varied & always tasty. Wait staff were excellent, friendly & happy to be of service

We did have a problem with our toilet leaking from the flush button all the time. We needed to turn water off at the wall after flushing & place towel on tbe floor to absorb water. We did advice several staff of this issue who tried unsuccessfully to resolve.About 9 days into our stay one of our room attendants got an "engineer" to replace the working mechanism in the tank. After that no problems

Great staff, great location

Beautful and very green garden. Very friendly staff, the pools are of a good size and clean (in the bigger one, one can swim lanes, in the smaller one there is a pool bar and the cocktails are delicious!). The beach is jsut across the street. No bustöe or bisy road. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is modern and everything functioned perfectly well.

The lavish green garden attracts mosquitos and these inadvertently find a way into to rooms. However, the staff provided us with a spray and t he problem was solved. Electrical mosquito repellents would be a good idea though.

Three years since I last stayed here, as we usually do, because we love the helpful staff, the beautiful grounds and the lovely service in the restaurant, and two pools to choose from. Delighted to see the owners have used the quiet time to upgrade rooms. In 124 (on the ground floor halfway along the pathways) there was a nice new toilet, shower corner with standard and rainhead nozzles (no bath now), modern vanity, new tiles. We had twin beds, very comfy, big fluffy pillows, and good aircon, not too noisy. New power sockets, also featuring two usb sockets for charging phones with own cords. New LED downlights meant the lighting was brighter in the room. The restaurant has had a makeover too, and has a nicer ambience. They still have bubur ayam on the breakfast menu so I had it three mornings running, so yummy. Puri Raja is not high end resort, but it is a very pleasant place to stay, gardens lovely and staff helpful and welcoming. A nice place for families with a great kiddy section in the beach end pool, and a lovely quieter pool nearer the reception end for us oldies to float about in, or to do lengths.

The one thing that puzzles me is that they renovated the rooms but have kept the tatty little fake wood trays on the bathroom counter for toiletries. They must be at least 15 years old now. The manager once told me when I suggested they replace them that they use them because no-one wants to steal them (like they would nicer trays) but in a beautifully renovated bathroom they just look old and scruffy and make the bathroom look less classy.
