Plaza Hotel, Philian Hotels and Resorts

Overall our 3 nights here was a decent experience, and pretty good value for a city-centre hotel. The location is excellent, right in the centre of Ladadika, an area full of bars and restaurants, although also nightclubs which means noise into the early hours. This brings me to my next point, which is that the staff are excellent, especially the lovely Elpida for whom it seemed nothing was too much trouble. When the aforementioned nightclub noise caused us to request a change of room, this was done efficiently and quickly with no charge for the slight upgrade and she also arranged for a small packed breakfast to be provided on our last morning when we left before 5am. Breakfast was pretty good too, a buffet with plenty of choice right up to the 10.30 finish, with attentive staff on hand.

The rooms were only average, with some lighting issues, and the bathrooms were not well laid out.

The location of the hotel is perfect, just a few minutes from Aristotle Square. We stayed in a clean 2 bedroom family room which was big enough. The staff is very professional and helpful. Breakfast was great; full of delicious options freshly cooked and consistently served by friendly staff.

The hotel is an old building and the rooms seem to have been partially renovated. We stayed for one night and were satisfied with the hotel. The parking lot is not on the hotel grounds but we were informed about it. The hotel gives you a ticket and you can park in the car park 2 minutes away by paying 7 Euros per day on the hotel bill. We did not have a parking problem because we got the support of the hotel staff. However, this is a general situation in Thessaloniki.

The location of the hotel is excellent. The room and bathroom were spacious, clean and modern. The hotel personnel is always friendly and the breakfast is wonderful!

The parking arrangement is rather inconvenient. One has to first drive to the hotel, in order to take a parking card for the nearby parking area (at the harbour). Driving to the hotel is a bit of a mission. All navigation systems lead to a street with a sign "strictly no entry allowed". Apparently, the sign is not applicable to guests of the hotel, but when you don't know it, you drive in circles, looking for other streets with access to the hotel. Once you check out of the hotel, the same parking card has to be given back to the reception.

The staff at the reception were extremely welcoming and helpful, a great start! The rooms were comfortable and clean. The hotel is located very close to the port, an easy 10 minute walk (with luggage) to the ferry itself. There are many taverna's and reasonably priced restaurants all around as the hotel is located in the leisure quarter of the city.

Maybe a kettle in each room would be a possible enhancement. Nightclubs in the area do stay open late so you may experience some muted noise in the room but only if you are awake anyway, it shouldn't disturb your night's sleep.

Very good location in the heart of the city and at the sea side. The breakfast was very good with lots of options. The personal at the reception, kitchen and cleaning very kind and helpful.

It was very noisy during the night. It is an area with lots of bar/clubs. A bit unpleasant was the lady from the bar who rejected any of the requests off “menu” without any other suggestions. The lady from the reception which welcomed us was instead very, very kind and helpful and tried to find a solution for everything we requested.

I eat very little especially in the morning. But the breakfast was good and a large selection and everything was fresh, I really enjoyed it. We arrived by ferry and on foot within 5 minutes we arrived at the hotel. I was afraid it would be noisy because of the proximity to places of entertainment and the port, but to my surprise it was very quiet.

Fat people may be uncomfortable with large luggage in the small elevator. It didn't bother me much, but insulation in the shower was not perfect

The hotel is located in the center of Thessaloniki. There are places to go everywhere around. The rooms are very clean and quite comfortable. The staff is very helpful. There is also free parking available, something very important for this city. We needed to stay one more night and they responded to us immediately. The price was very low based on the quality of the hotel.

The area is crowded and it's quite noisy. Of course it is not something that the hotel can improve, this problem exists for all the hotels in the area.

The Breakfast is very good (typical greek food and european breakfast) incl greek pies, sweets, eggs, feta, olives, fruits, etc. For a proper coffee (espresso, cappuccino, etc) you need to pay extra - the coffee is done in the cafe next door, it is good and affordable. The stuff is very friendly and helpful! If you travel with the car, the hotel can arrange a secure parking place (3 min walking) for 5 EUR a day - it's very convenient and comfortable.

Lovely boutique hotel. In the heart of Thessaloniki at the Ladadika, where all the entertainment and food is. The hotel offers close parking at 7 Euro per day, great price for the location. The staff are exceptional. The price for the room was also good for peak season.

There is a downside to living in the city sometimes. The only thing I did not like, is that there is a rooftop bar or club next door. The doof doof music was going from around 12am till about 3am or 4am or even later depending on the night.

The staff is exceptionally nice and polite. The service is excellent and really quick. The place is clean and and well looked after and the decor is also really pleasant. The location is exceptional as well.

The hotel is very central and late at night there is noise from the clubs around. However I used earplugs and was fine. Also because the Hotel is in an old area there was a burst pipe and there was no water for the whole day. Having said that everything else was so perfect that we didn't hold it against them. There was nothing they could do.
