Royal Hotel Thessaloniki

excellent property, newly refurbished I guess because the carpet on the corridor was really nice and smelled good comparing to other hotels. beautiful restaurant with some modern designing elements combined with elegant vintage ones. sumptuous elegant lobby and nice bar. modern rooms and really nice balcony. the staff was extremely attentive, helpful and cheerful. too bad I did not take their names , but all from the gentleman on the reception, the cheerful lady at restaurant, the guy at the bar and restaurant in the evening, housekeeping ladies, all genuine professional workers. being a hotelier myself, it was the first time when I felt treated the way I treat my guests in the 5 stars hotel I work in central of London.

The staff was very attentive, one day the pool was full, but the staff still managed to bring out some sunbeds. The breakfast was really good, even though every day was the same. The last day we checked out at 6 am so they prepared a small breakfast bag for us. The location wasn't the best, the beach is a 12-15 minutes drive, but it compensated with the pool. The good things was there weren't too many kids, during our 6 day stay we only saw one or 2 kids at the pool.

The coffee offered with the breakfast was just plain brewed coffee, for any other coffee we would have to pay at the bar, I wish they had at least a small espresso machine.

We really enjoyed the hotel. It has a beautiful atmosphere, and all the staff are very kind and energetic. They always strive to make our stay even more enjoyable. We liked it so much that we have booked it again for the last day of our trip! Breakfast was good !

There were a few minor issues. Firstly, it's difficult to find online taxis, and getting to the city center takes a bit longer. Additionally, the restaurant is far away, but the hotel itself has its own restaurant, which is convenient. The prices seem reasonable to me! The food is also delicious, although the beverage selection wasn't very exciting for us. However, the hotel's location is truly beautiful and peaceful.

Almost everything was exceptional, including the room (suite), the facilities and the staff. The room really spacious and included everything needed; it had a large living room area and a lot of light coming in from the windows. The view is also really nice, overlooking Perea from one side and Kalamaria (Thessaloniki) from the other side. The location is not bad, it's quite close to the airport which is convenient but quite far from the city center, in case someone wants to go there.

The WiFi is not great from the suite we were living in. The signal was weak in some places, causing the connection to go off and on a lot. Since I had to work for a couple of days from the room, I had to use my 4G connection instead.

Lovely modern hotel, spacious and airy with attractive public areas; lobby, foyer, bar, restaurant and outdoor terrace. Plenty of parking. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Our sea view room had a lovely outside terrace and fantastic views over the gulf and the city of Thessaloniki. Attractive and modern en-suite bathroom with great shower and nice toiletries, robes, slippers and a hairdryer. The hotel was very quiet and the staff were extremely helpful. We enjoyed drinks in the bar and dinner in the restaurant, good food and a great wine list. Breakfast was very good with excellent coffee options.

Everything was excellent.

The hotel staff are really wonderful and accommodating. Despite what other reviews have said, the hotel is wheelchair accessible, you need only to inform the hotel of your needs. We also enjoyed the restaurant, and the views from this property are really amazing! They even prepared a take away breakfast for us because our departure was so early.

The hotel is a little outdated, but provided everything we needed. We had a problem with the air conditioning not working in our room, but the staff quickly and easily changed our room. It also would have been nice for the pool to remain open longer.

The hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly, particularly in the restaurant. Breakfast was great and the vicinity to the airport is good.

We arrived at 10:00 pm and fortunately the restaurant was still open. However, the bar closed at 11:00 pm which meant that we could not get a drink after dinner. No-one was able to get a drink for us, as the bar was closed until the following day. We were leaving the folowing day, as we only stayed for one night, so that was no good for us. This was disappointing for us, but everything else was very good.

The hotel advertises that it provides free shuttles from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport. Actually we could not get free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. The hotel excused itself that shuttles are not available after 22:00 p.m. When we asked the next morning to get the promised free shuttle to the airport' the hotel excused itself that we should have ordered the free shuttle 48 hours before. Because of the false hotel's advertising, we had to pay for a taxi for both directions 38 euros.

We used this hotel as a one night stopover as we were coming in to the airport. The hotel has ample parking, the reception area is lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was great with a small balcony. The bathroom was lovely. We used the restaurant for dinner and the selection of food was great. Breakfast the next morning was a lovely spread. The view from the room at night and by day was spectacular.

For someone driving who doesn't know the road - the hotel could be tricky to find in the dark. We are used to the road but still had to look carefully. There are signs to the Royal Hotel however.
