Hotel Altes Brauhaus garni

Perfectly located in the centre of the city with good parking, priced at either €13 or €18 depending where you want to park. It’s a big hotel, very tastefully decorated with large clean rooms, comfortable beds and most of the facilities required for a comfortable stay. However in the so called “superior” rooms there is no air conditioning! However, there is a small fan. The description of the room facilities states there is a “minibar” which is in fact a vending machine in the foyer. There is a fridge in the room but that is empty. The restaurant is closed (at the time of writing) but the breakfast was very good with hot food options and plenty of continental options too. A very nice hotel in a good location with good parking. Nothing special about the superior rooms but if you are driving/riding to this beautiful city you will struggle to find a more convenient hotel.

The walls are quite thin and the cleaners start very early so don’t expect to have a relaxing sleep in beyond 8am

Underground parking is 18 Euros per night but to be expected in a restricted parking zone.

Almost perfect but wifi terrible. Value for money / central / seamless lift connection from parking garage (additional €18) to hotel room floor Few minutes walk to the Plönlein “Pinocchio” house which is probably the most photographed subject in Rothenburg. (Go there before breakfast to avoid the crowds) Large family room which fits 2 adults & 3 children comfortably. Ample spacing between sleeping areas, sitting TV area, dining area & Kitchenette without need for walls to separate the areas. Comfortable spacious bathroom. Warm & friendly staff who are very helpful. Great breakfast. Should have stayed longer at this location and use it as a base to explore neighbouring towns.

Terrible wifi

We liked everything and the hotel exceeded our expectations, the hotel is situated in an excellent quit area inside the town walls and close to the historic centre. The properties advertisement is absolutely correct 'HISTORIC CHARM. MODERN COMFORT. TRADI­TIONAL HOSPI­TA­LITY" We only can recommend this property. Very friendly and helpful staff, the manager knows his job and there is a good vibe in this hotel. Breakfast is excellent.

The Wifi connection, however this is secondary.

This hotel is very well positioned within Rothenburg old town, perfect for our stop off on our "Romantic Road" trip. The room was very comfortable. There was adequate off road private parking and the charge point for our EV was easily accessed (charging cost paid directly to the hotel). There was a lot of choice at breakfast.

The hotel seems to cater for large groups. Although there was a good sized communal seating area downstairs, there was no bar in the hotel.

* Lovely Location - being inside the city wall of the old town, once you step outside it’s only a 1-2mins walk to reach the Main Street where the famous fairytale shots of Rothenburg are taken. The hotel and it’s room are also very modern :) *Personal Touch - upon arrival into our room, a greeting card with a photo of Rothenburg was addressed to us and wishing us a pleasant stay! Accompanying this was also some sweets, a big bottle of sparkling water and tourist maps etc. * Breakfast Assortment - anything you could ask for was on offer and we especially enjoyed the traditional food like Weißwurstchen and Pretzel. * Parking - €18 per night, underground, which was practical. Otherwise, €13, outside behind the premises. Both options were pretty reasonable.

* Nothing. We honestly had a wonderful night at the hotel and walking around the fairytale town.

The location was ideally located in the old town!! Restaurants and shops just down the street, but on a quiet side street. The front desk and breakfast staff were pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast was generous and delicious! We were in the large family room which had a nice living room and kitchen and slept 5 people. Note that the room is not air conditioned, but there are numerous windows on 3 sides which kept a comfortable cross breeze (temps in low 80s during day). The bathroom was spacious and the tub large (however the shower was 3x3). We would come again in a heartbeat as a family or couple.

The entire property was beautifully situated with in the walls of Rothenberg ob der Tauber. The parking was easy, convenient, and incredibly safe. The rooms were clean and had the amenities we looked for. The best part however was the kids amenities we weren't expecting and how the staff treated my 2 kids. They were so sweet and understanding and quick to help when things became confusing or overwhelming.

Our only complaint was that it had air-conditioning listed but in reality it was a table fan. Normally we wouldn't mind but it was a weekend that there was a heat warning in effect.The room itself though was situated by a shaded garden so opening the windows was helpful to bring the temperature down a little.

The staff at the reception was professional and friendly. The room was located at the attic, so the view on the town and the fields was beautiful. Also it was pretty big. There was a bath in the bathroom too! Everything was clean. I am not going back to Rothenburg any time soon, but if I would I would come back to the hotel. I will definately recommend Altes Brauhaus to my friends.

I had a room booked until 11:00. Despite that the housekeeping lady banged at my door TWICE to check if I already moved out. Maybe she should check with the reception staff if the guests have already checked out first, instead of disturbing them?

Very beautiful, traditional hotel in fantastic location in the heart of Rottenburg ob der Tauber.

We were not told about night-time fireworks, at first we thought was a gunshot!, then realised was fireworks and wished we had stayed out longer to watch. Also wish we could have stayed longer.
