Super 8 by Wyndham Koblenz

we have stayed at other locations of Super8 and knew what to expect. The rooms are small, lack of closets but the price is right. we’re cycling the Rhine and we seamlessly got to hotel, without fighting too much traffic. Supermarkt and restaurants are near and it’s walking distance from Dom.

No secure bicycle parking right at hotel. Apparently they have a place a Km from hotel. At 11 pm someone opened our room. We were afraid all night that other keys possibly were coded with our code. aaWhen I mentioned it to reception we discovered that a staff person accidentally had opened it. I would have appreciated the person would have identified himself and apologized. it would have put our minds at ease.

Nice and quick check-in. Convenient location and good vale for money (the comfort is ok, with new infrastructure).

The beds are too lightweight and they move. I requested adjacent rooms, and paid for big rooms via booking. But at the check-in I was informed that adjacent rooms were only the small sized bedrooms. I ended up at the small adjacent rooms but I got no refund for not staying in the big rooms. The bathroom deserves larger doors, it feels like at a youth hostel. The toilet is nearly doorless, and the shower ends up leaking to the sink area. The breakfast can get an upgrade. In the end it's ok for 2 nights.

The hotel has a very central position, in the old center and close to the train station. Everything was very clean and even if the room wasn't big, it was nicely designed and comfortable. The breakfast was good and with much variety. Definitely recommend for a short stay.

There was not much space for storing the luggage, but it is enough for a short stay. Also there is a construction site from the city in front of the building, but that is not the fault of the hotel of course. Maybe a storage room for bikes would have been useful, cause there are a lot of bikers and the bikes had to be parked on a hallway. There is the possibility of using the same bed sheets and towels for a longer time (for climate purpose, of course), but the staff doesn't seem to be aware of it, so even if we didn't request new ones, they still replaced the old ones. Would be nice to pay attention in such things.

I was a little hesitant to book this place, because of some recent reviews complaining about building noise and lack of curtains etc. I booked anyway and am very happy I did. There are still building activities going on but it wasn’t much of a hindrance (I couldn’t take the stairs at some point and the entrance is moved to the side of the building). I have no noise complaints at all, the room I was in (2nd floor, in the back of the building) was very quiet. The location of the hotel is perfect. Room was brand new and had light blocking curtains. The window was easily opened. Airconditioning took me a while to figure out (there’s a tiny button on top that activates it, then you can just adjust temperature and humidity as you please), same with the bathroom ventilation (still no clue what the different buttons are for, but I got it to work).

The side entrance is next to the smoking area, so you have to walk past that every time you enter/exit the building.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of my room and this hotel in general. The room was really nice. There was a desk, couple of small storage options, dark curtains if you want to sleep in longer, and the room was very clean! The reception was also super nice and spacious with a small snacks bar.

The only thing I would say is that I don't think they had a double bed option, only 2 twin beds. And the beds were kind of light in terms of moving from their spot.

The location is very convenient, on the way from the train station to the old town. The staff is really nice, our room was ready before checking in so we could drop off our belongings and rest a bit before exploring the city.

The cleaning lady was very eager to get in since early in the morning. Our sleeping in plans were interrupted three times! Don't forget to place the "do not disturb" sign on the door :P

Great bedding, good shower (despite silhouetting through glass side to room), good views from floor 9, nice towels, fresh and modern. Warm welcome and great location for Altstadt and sights.

No hooks for towels in bathroom or surfaces for wash bags etc. Water spreads from shower despite my angling and reduced power. Bed corner close to desk and case stand so bit of bottleneck. A kettle would have been great but not often provided so not a surprise. Safe but not set up so couldn't use. Batteries still in packet!

I loved that it was right in the centre. Also, the hotel was really clean & the staff were super friendly. I found the room lovely. It was clean & comfortable & for one person it was a really good size.

The room could have done with a wardrobe or dresser but because I was only there for 2 nights I just lived outta a suitcase. It wasn't too big a hassle but would have been nice. The breakfast was very, very basic

Excellent location, great staff at reception. Brand new hotel. Near tourist information, old Town with many places to eat, and enjoy local beers and wines.

Breakfast expensive, local establishments offered same for lover prices. Elevators to small and to slow. Room clean up late. Hotel was new but still under construction. Missing coffe maker in room, no body lotion, no hair conditioner. Which is difficult to deal with Iwhen flying in from oversee.

The receptionist (Cosmin) went out of his way to make our stay pleasant and comfy, even before arriving there. He called us to confirm and gave us instructions. He helped a lot with explaining how to get to some local attractions that we wanted to visit. Thank you once again! It is always nice to be welcomed with a smile. The room was big and clean and the location is great. Just a walk away from the old town.

The room needed some more storage space for clothes.
