Minx – CityHotels

The location was great. It was close to the city centre and other interesting for me areas. The hotel's staff was very open and supportive. I have forgotten 2 items in the room, which were promised to be delivered via post to other country.

The single room was really short No warm dishes for breakfast except scrambles (on demand/request). Very few channels in English. The hotel does not guarantee parking slots in general (some limited on demand, the rest parking slots are recommended by the reception).

Very helpful and friendly staff, especially if like me you are a non-German speaking traveller. Short taxi ride from the Hauptbanhof. City map given on arrival, with clear instructions on how to get to major attractions + approximate walking times, and the hotel marked with nice clear cross proved to be far more useful than Google maps. Room card came with a little envelope with excellent information about breakfast, the free wi-fi and information for after reception hours. There is a lift to all floors. I booked a 'comfort' room which was just as in the photos, and was a very large space - table , three armchairs, dressing table and wardrobe . The bathroom looked new, everywhere very clean and quiet. Big plus during my stay was finding a large ,standing fan in the room , as temperatures regularly went over 30C .As the electricity is NOT controlled by your key card, it meant that I could leave it on low to come back to cool room - bliss. Short walking distance from Dom, treasury , Carolus centre and Rathaus in the old town. I strongly recommend the Carolus Thermen spa, which is only 9euros after 5.00pm for 3 hours, and a lovely 15 minute walk away through gardens with lovely fountains.

This is the first place I have found without an extensive breakfast layout, but for me there was still plenty - scrambled eggs, cold meats , cheeses and yoghurts plus breads.

The location was excellent just a couple blocks to downtown. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was also pretty good. We just booked one hour before our entrance time so was over our expectations.

Everything was perfect. Definitely we can come back for sure !!

Room was modern & comfortable. The location was great, easy 5 minute walk into the centre of Aachen. Superb for going to Christmas Market in the evening. Breakfast was excellent- full range of options, freshly cooked eggs and everything was replenished quickly but efficient and friendly staff.

Some noise from other rooms or downstairs but nothing too distracting.

Location was perfect! Staff were super friendly and allowed us to leave our luggage when we arrived in town some hours before check-in time. Breakfast was good and mattresses comfy.

The bathroom was small. Shower was fine but the space outside the shower cubicle was very small and hard to manoeuvre.

Simple room, but everything that we needed. Friendly and helpful. Small fee to lock away our bikes in the garage.

Location is close to the old city, with a variety of important historic buildings. The city has a very nice friendly atmoshere and is close to the ancient warm water sources of Aken wich are freely accessible.

Although the city seems to be very prosperous there seems to be a lot of people who cannot affort a normal living. This group finds its way into the garbage cans to scrape up the discarded plastics and cans.The situation looks a little bizarre compared to the displayed wealth of the rest of the population.

The hotel is extremely well-placed being within a couple of minutes' walk from the centre of the old town. Car parking in a multi-storey was a little further away and at 16 euros per day expensive. Reception was welcoming and helpful and the room quite basic but clean, well-maintained and wholly acceptable. The bathroom was, unsurprisingly, small but had everything and breakfast in this busy establishment was well-supplied and served with great efficiency.

Great location across the street from the Altstadt. Very clean and modern room Elevator very helpful. Kudos also to the staff for sending an extremely detailed explanation of parking options and access to hotel entrance. That was the BEST i have ever experienced.

Parking is not close nor cheap, but to be expected for the location.

Very good location, only a 6 minutes walk from the Dom. Room was clean and comfortable.

On check out day, the reception was all locked up at 8.15am when it said check out was from 6am so we had to leave the keys in the breakfast room.
