Le Mans Country Club

The food was excellent and beautifully presented by the brilliant team of chefs in their black aprons and tall black chef's hats. Their kitchen was on show for diners to see - fascinating to watch them quietly cooking a variety of lovely meals..

We did not like the bath with shower incorporated as part of the bedroom. As no non-slip mat was provided the base of the bath/shower was slippery, and as the glass screen was fixed it was very difficult to get out of the bath. without slipping. The wooden surface of the sink surround was impractical and there was nowhere to leave the bar of soap by the sink when not in use. The wide mirrored surround around the bath was ridiculous because the spray from the shower made it wet, causing water ingress at the bottom corner of the mirrored wall.

Set in very peaceful grounds- the chateau itself is very impressive. Staff are great, as is the food in the restaurant. We have stayed here annually for many years on return journey from holiday and it is consistent in service and experience.

Only two areas really that would make things better for single night visitors: air conditioning in the rooms in the Orangery - they really do get too warm in summer. Also a room service menu that caters for families and late arrivals - 4 or 5 simple dishes. Currently you have to order from the main menu which is classic and really best experienced in the restaurant.

They are currently refurbishing the rooms located outside the hotel. The hotel has had some big transformations and looks amazing . our room was beautiful, brand new , brilliant shower, and warm. The bedding was fab .. Done to a very high standard.. loved it . thank you

We were firstly given a room that had not been refurbished and the outdoor building it was located in was very noisy and very busy with work men doing a very good job, but we had no running water so we asked for a new room of which we got a newly renovated one .. just didn’t understand why we didn’t get this in the first place .

Beautiful building in a wonderful setting. . This time we stayed in the main building which was worth paying the extra for as the rooms are much more spacious. The bedding was good quality and lovely fluffy towels. The restaurant was very good and reasonably priced too.

The first time we stayed here was in the Orangerie which is basic and does not reflect the splendour of the chateau. There is no air con in the rooms and due to the insects, we were not able to open the windows.

Lovely building in very picturesque grounds. Friendly welcome, shown to nice room on second floor with views over the park. Had a drink on the terrace, then meal in the restaurant. Varied menus priced from 55 euros, food good, friendly service although English a bit limited but better than our French! OK breakfast with tasty omelette cooked to order. Not cheap but would stay again if in the area.

Rooms really need aircon but probably difficult to install in an old building.

The venue is beautiful and the staff incredibly friendly. If you want a much more upmarket place to stay whilst in the area that isn't over the top on price then I would highly recommend the country club. This is way nicer than staying at the hotels nearer the circuit. It was an easy drive to the track about 10 minutes. The hotel is far enough away from Le mans that there is no light pollution and it's quiet at night. Highly recommended

Room and comfort of the beds exceptional. Opening the windows to the lovely gardens was just lovely

Breakfast is a lovely buffet, however supervision could have been better to prevent guests mishandling the food. Cooked breakfast really good and exceptional quality, likewise the fresh products and bakery items

Beautiful building and grounds. Restaurant on site which was brilliant, they catered really well for me and as a coeliac this was great. All staff spoke very good English.

The bedroom was too hot even with the windows open.

Utterly gorgeous! We’ve been coming here for years. Nice rooms, excellent restaurant and wine list, dog friendly. They even have EV chargers! Gorgeous grounds, peace and tranquillity. Just what you need nowadays!

Outstanding setting in the grounds of a former hunting lodge. Excellent accommodation. Modern, haute cuisine restaurant.

One waiter reluctant to engage (language issue?) and failed to provide the later wine that we ordered.
