Hôtel De Wimereux

Room was a very good size, staff friendly, breakfast good, all very clean, secure parking a bonus. Centrally located and 5 minutes walk from a beautiful beach.

Breakfast was fine, but with only one plate and set of cutlery, it was a little tricky trying to manage scrambled egg, bread and accompanying meats/cheese or croissants and jam. Although a chair was provided in the room it was designed for sitting at a desk, a more comfortable one would have been appreciated, but these are only minor gripes. I did feel 20 euros a night for parking was a little steep, but it did provide peace of mind knowing our vehicle was secure.

Very friendly and caring staff who wanted us to feel comfortable. Great location, quick walk to anywhere, seaside, shops, restaurants very good. Excellent location. Food delicious, high quality Restaurant. Desk 24 hrs so good for a late coffee or tea. rooms all had kettles and cups, nice touch.

Our rooms were most small and expensive for the size of them. This hotel has no lounge, so there is nowhere to sit down other than in a Bar or Restaurant. Not so comfortable. We also did not like the tank of Lobsters and Crabs, that really made the lobby area smell right next to the Reception Desk.

The hotel is very good and well located. I was disappointed when l booked that the restaurant is closed on Mondays but the staff at the hotel made a reservation for us in a restaurant nearby. I think we were most disappointed with the fee for the car park. In February when we last used the hotel it was £12.00, it is now £20.00. This is quite a hike in one go and unnecessary. We do not have breakfast because of the cost, there is a boulangerie just up the road.

Since the takeover from Hotel du centre to Hotel de Wimereux the restaurant is not the same. No linen table cloths and a not such a good menu. Before it was lovely. A good table d'hote menu and a good a la carte menu too. We didn't eat there because the choice was limited and not to our taste. It was fairly expensive but had we liked on the menu we would have tried it.

The staff were very welcoming. The size of the room. Secure parking. Location in the middle of town. The price of the room. The kettle in the room and milk provided by the staff.

The cost of the breakfast and the evening meal solved by going next door to the local cafe for breakfast and to one of the many restaurants for dinner. The staff couldn't provide "normal" tea bags - English breakfast tea would have been fine. Luckily the local supermarket sells them!

We have stayed at this hotel many times and were a little wary that it is now under new ownership. However, most things were unchanged and we enjoyed our stay. Enjoyed having aperitifs in the sunny garden. Breakfast was good.

I've never had a bad steak in France before, but sadly the medium-rare steak au poivre in the restaurant was inedible - very chewy and dry. Didn't want to make a fuss as it was probably just a one-off - other guests were eating steak with no apparent problem. , The starter was very good.

Lovely stylish hotel, close to (but not on) the promenade. Nice outdoor patio area at the back. Secure ground level parking. Best of all was the 19th century Paris-cafe styled restaurant with all the brass and mirrors you might see in a painting by Manet. Loved it.

Room was very small but adequate. Lack of staff to serve drinks on the patio and in the adjacent lounge area. Twice had to go looking for someone to serve us. Other guests gave up.

The family room was spacious,but very dated. The room was clean,although it looked like there was blood on the wall near the bed :( The bathroom had a strange smell of vinegar,possibly because of the flooring getting wet and not suitable for a bathroom. The hotel looked lovely although we didn't have time to use the facilities as we had meal reservations elsewhere. The parking was great and location and town were brilliant.

The hotel is in a great location in the centre of town. It has the great advantage of a secure car park at the rear. As a motorcyclist this is important even if quite expensive (12€). The room was fine, quite small but functional. The breakfast is nice and the restaurant good. The hotel staff are all friendly, welcoming and attentive. I also valued the honesty of the hotel staff who immediately refunded my account when I was wrongly charged for drinks I had not ordered.

The hotel was not very generous with its towels. There was only one smallish towel and a very small hand towel. We were promised more but these never arrived, which was a minor disappointment.
