voco Strasbourg Centre - The Garden, an IHG Hotel

Beautifully designed hotel, lovely touches throughout, convenient parking underground (albeit small so booking is essential). Location is good for exploring the city on foot.

I sent several requests to book a spa treatment before arrival, however they went unanswered. When we arrived we were told that there was no booking (of course) and there was no availability for the time that we wanted. We had a dinner at the hotel’s restaurant one night and the quality of food was quite poor - tasteless, bland and absolutely not worth the money. Quite disappointing given how pretty the restaurant space is.

Very attentive reception staff. They speak many different languages including English and Portuguese. Very comfortable accommodation with good space, a nice balcony although the view is not so cool. The shower is very good. Modern building. Quiet place and close to the center.

I made the reservation because they say there is a parking garage, but when I arrived it was not available. And parking on the street during the day it's extremely expensive, overnight is free but it's difficult to find a free spot. In the room, I found a dirty underwear behind a cushion on the couch from a previous guest.

Very kind and helpful stuff, very clean 10/10, everything new and modern, bathroom brand new, cosmetics natural and organic, complimentary bottle of water in refrigerator in the room, everything well designed and arranged. Breakfast was very good with a variety of options (with vegan options too and EUR 20 pro person). Hotel has a small lovely designed bar and two outdoor gardens (one from bar and another from restaurant). Restaurant is closed on weekends (but they serve breakfast). We didn’t used the pool, but Rituel corporel Fraisier Sauvage (whole body scrub + massage) was majestic! Hotel has underground garage, we reserved a spot in advance and paid 20 EUR per day. I think there is also a possibility of paid street parking.

The bathrobes were very old and torn, which do not match the rest of the hotel's perfect image. We booked a room with a balcony, but there was only room for one person to stand with two feet out there. Although we wouldn't use it anyway because the unbearable smell of urine spreads from that side of the street (the side facing the railways) and it's unfortunately unbearable to leave the balcony door opened.

The hotel was a last minute choice. It was perfect for us. My son was amazed by the grass wall and vegetation, the egg chairs and the general vibe. The lighting at the bar was also interesting. The room was clean, roomy, modern and the bathroom was luxe. The staff were nice and helpful. It was well located, just a few minutes tram ride into town and closer still to the main train station. In all, for a business hotel, this one went the extra mile and stood out. It was fun, hip and comfortable with a good location. For a last minute booking, we fell on our feet.

The hotel is very new and modern. The staff is attentive. The SPA is ok but worth 9 euros per person. We stayed in one of the rooms facing the train track and couldn't hear a thing.

Breakfast was ok, bit probably expensive for what you get (you're paying for the convenience as there aren't options 5 minutes walk). Our stay was between Xmas and NYE and they were struggling with the high number of guests. Their scrambled eggs were bad. One other thing that was really bad was their concierge service. They claimed to have it but none of their staff members did a good job to help us find and book restaurants. They had their list of recommended restaurants but due the time of the year some of them weren't open and you had to find out yourself.

Everything was amazing - late check in, the parking was booked but in the evening you can park in the back and front of hotel (until 9am), later on we changed to a parking house for 15€ a day (parking on side is super expensive- 35€ for 3h!). The SPA area is open until midnight so we were able to use it at 11 pm and relax. The is a swimming pool, hamam and infrared sauna, everything is nicely designed and cost only 9€ per person. Our room was beautiful, comfy and super clean. The breakfast was ok but solid 9/10 (coffee could be better). You can walk everywhere from the hotel, no need to drive.

I asked for an romantic gift since my girlfriend was having her birthday during our stay and they put some decoration on the bad what was nice but just a small thing. So I was totally thankful for this nice surprise but when I checked out they wanted to have this service payed which was kind of ridiculous and at the end the decided to not charge me for this romantic package so all good.

The breakfast was not worth for that money at all and I would highly preferred to get my breakfast in some other location since 19€ is much too high and restaurants would not take that much probably. So we arrived half an hour before breakfast closes and we the eggs where already empty as well as the pancakes, when I asked if I could get some scrambled eggs they told me I would be too late which is not customer friendly at all. Even if the staff was kind but to not get the full breakfast for that price is really bad and I was unhappy that I was not getting my breakfast somewhere else. Orange juice not fresh and coffee just not good quality.

cleanliness, confort of the bed, beauty of the room and the whole building, the gym (small but clean and good quality machines), quality of the breakfast, staff greetings, details in the room (hair drier, water, free bretzel, beauty and number of lamps)

the curtains weren't long enough (sun went through in the morning), breakfast was too expensive even though it was very good (we had to be quick in the morning so we didn't get the time to enjoy it enough), the AC made a lot of noise but you could lower it

Great hotel - simple, practical, great shower, super great 👌 and friendly staff all round. Very accommodating.

Wifi was patchy in our room and not very strong reception- definitely an area for improvement. We booked a double room with a double bed and had single beds 🛌 put together. When we called on check in from the room - we were told all rooms fully booked - we didn't even have a topper on the bed which could have helped.

lovely spacious modern room with nice comfortable beds. Beds were not too firm and not too soft, just perfect! Location is near city centre, but you do have to walk 10 to 15 minutes. Loved the parking space below. We were there with a SUV, but parking spaces were large enough. We didn't use the facilities or take breakfast. Loved the little extra's: coffee, lotion, cookies, water, fridge I would stay here again.

Can't remember a thing. Maybe location could be closer to city centre but if you don't mind a 15 min walk, it's ok.
