We were en route to Italy, and needed an easy, dog friendly, overnight stop. This hotel was perfect. Easy to access from (and back to) the motorway, clean and friendly. The rooms are a good size, and comfortable, with their own door to the outside, ideal for those travelling with a dog. Electric shutters provide shade from the sun, an important point given the the temperature outside was over 30, and there is no air conditioning. The breakfast was particularly good, better than many hotels, with an excellent and fresh selection.

excellent location on route to Alps. Travelling with dogs so needed somewhere just off the main route but sufficiently rural that we could walk them. Made to feel very welcome. Incredible value. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant on site which were also happy for dogs to join us. Ground floor with patio doors straight out onto the car park and a grassy area. Helpful for those last night toilet breaks for dogs. This is the third time we have stayed here and will again I’m sure.

For the money I can’t really fault it. Bathroom dated but all clean.

The rooms were spacious enough. The bed was comfy and it was well soundproofed, which made it nice and quiet. You would have no idea you were very close to a main, busy road. Air con was working which was welcomed. It was a clean room with a nice sized bathroom and a good shower. Just 5 minutes from the motorway so perfect for an overnight stop. I would definitely recommend popping into the old medieval town if your here to see the cathedral.

The receptionist was very rude when we arrived. I have no idea why. We were patient and happy to wait as he was busy doing something when we arrived but he really didn't have a very nice attitude towards us, which we didn't need after being on the road for 9 hours. The breakfast was very basic.

breakfast was not up to the same standard as the rooms. Also, despite the lovely outside seating area and lovely weather, everyone had to eat breakfast inside. The staff were wearing masks, yet guests were made to sit close together, and indoors when an outdoor area was available. Apparently the restaurant only allows the hotel to use a certain part of its seating area, but I would suggest that that deal needs to be renegotiated to include the outdoor area, or the hotel needs to designate another outdoor area of its own for breakfast.

Reception was lovely - spoke English for us and was very helpful when we asked about walking to the local town. Breakfast definitely worth having - best variety of food we came across during our road trip. Good value for money. Car parking good and felt safe. Good location - we used as stop off before going back through tunnel and long drive next day. Would use as starting point other way too in future

The room was comfortable and one of the staff on reception was very friendly and helpful, and went to a lot if trouble to get us a taxi when asked. The dinner in the restaurant, whilst a bit pricey, was excellent. Overall, whilst the hotel is a good walk from town centre, and a bit dated, the price reflects this

Another reception staff member made us feel that anything we asked for was an interruption to what he was doing. We asked him to ring for a taxi but whilst he did so he grumbled about not having time to do so, even though there was no-one else in the reception area but us, and we had not asked for anything else! Also we felt the shower (which had to be held by hand as it would not stay attached to the wall), was quite dangerous. It is in the bath and with no grab rails the bath was slippy and we were afraid of falling. Tha bathroom/toilet door only closes over but had no latch so there was no privacy when using the loo

Excellent location for a break in a long drive from the UK. Staff were exceptional, really could not have been more friendly or helpful. Good restaurant attached serving guests and public, and although the staff didn’t have good English, they still were as kind and helpful as they could be.

Scrambled egg, chicken nuggets and roasted baby potatoes was an unusual choice for breakfast, but there were plenty of other options available also and it was all good and fresh, so no complaints here. Good fruit juices, yoghurts, nuts, croissants, meat slices and cheeses. Excellent choice .

My second stay at this hotel on the return leg of my holiday in the French Alps. Located just right to break the journey up and still have us close enough to Calais for the Tunnel. Staff could not be more helpful, very friendly and courteous. Food in the attached restaurant was good, but it can get busy so get in early if you can.

There was nothing really not to like. If you consider the price for an overnight stay here, it is very good value.

We brought our well behaved dog. Good exercising area adjacent to hotel. Restaurant accommodating and we were allowed to have our dog with us, on lead, under the table while we ate at both dinner and breakfast. Parking adjacent to downstairs rooms and you have access to your car and the outside from the French windows which are in all ground floor rooms. Hotel easy to find and a 20 minute walk (5 min drive) from centre of the magnificent, unique and historic old city
