A beautiful room in a lovely house with great food & wine & lovely people. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at La Villa de Chinon in the Loire Valley. This is a fab base to explore this beautiful part of France. John & Caroline are the perfect hosts & make your stay just perfect. Breakfast is lovely, you must try the homemade fig jam & marmalade. Dinner can be provided with lovely matched wines if you’d like. Facilities generally & in room include, secure parking, a great shower, super comfortable bed, luxury bedding, Nespresso machine, good hairdryer. The house is tastefully decorated and is very calm. We hope to return one day….

John and Caroline are wonderful hosts. They treated us like family. ;-) Our rooms were large and clean, as were our bathrooms. The whole villa is tastefully decorated with French and English antiques. We took advantage of their tables d'hotes option. Caroline served us delicious and colorful slices of tomato in a vinaigrette, followed by wonderful roast duck with fresh vegetables, washed down with a local Chinon red wine recommended by John. We finished up with a tray of local cheeses and chocolate cake with cream. After the meal, we enjoyed lively and interesting conversation with both of our gracious hosts. Don't miss this special opportunity in Chinon.

We had 3 lovely days at La Villa de Chinon. The area of course is lovely, we had great weather and travelled around to various little French towns & villages nearby sampling the Food & Drink, we would definitely recommend the Loire area. But the star of of our trip was our stay at the La Villa de Chinon. The hosts John & Caroline are the nicest people you will ever meet, they are welcoming, interesting & funny. We must also mention the Dog, Clovis who is a proper little character. Let’s get to the reason for the glowing review, the Garden Room was beautifully decorated, the bed super comfortable, the Nespresso Machine a winner & the decor just lovely. The included Breakfast was gorgeous with jams, cake, Croissant, bread, fruit & yoghurt. We took the opportunity of staying for Dinner on all 3 nights, it was gorgeous, 2, 3 or 4 Courses, prepared by John who is a lovely Cook. We would recommend you stay at the La Villa de Chinon before too many people find it and you won’t get in……Andy & Angela x

This is the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in. Our British hosts Caroline and John were helpful, interesting yet unobtrusive. Their1930s house is tastefully furnished, they are antique experts. John cooks the most superb food, one evening we dined at their art deco table and the next evening in their sheltered guest's garden with two small fountains. The breakfasts were superb. Chinon is a delightful town a few minutes walk for the B&B with the most impressive cathedral like avenue of plane trees we have ever seen. Our hosts were exceptional, the property was beautiful and very well situated close to the railway station and the centre of town. Large rooms, beautifully kept and comfortable, with a breakfast of local produce each morning. Hosts went above and beyond at every opportunity. If you are visiting Chinon do not look further than staying at La Villa de Chinon. Thank you so much for having us!

the room and property were incredibly relaxing and comfortable. The hosts were very helpful, polite and wonderful to talk to. We ate an absolutely delicious dinner at the villa two of our three nights and they were phenomenal and so relaxing. Breakfast was outstanding as well, we skipped lunch most days because we were still quite satisfied from it. Villa was also easy walking distance to down and wineries. An excellent stay and cannot recommend it enough!

Peace, tranquility, a stunning property, great food, good company - what else could you want! Caroline welcomes you to their beautiful home and John cooks up a storm in the kitchen of an evening. A very special experience. So special in fact that we have changed our return route and booked in for one more night at Villa de Chinon. Exceptional.

Nothing to say - faultless.

We stayed here for 4 nights and can highly recommend this place as a base for exploring The historic town of Chinon as well as its beautiful surroundings, being part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Many nice restaurants are accessible in walking distance.

Excellent location and very short walk to the town with all the bars and restaurants. Easy walking distance to the Chinnon fortress which is a must visit.

Nothing. It was absolutely perfect and a real gem. The owner/host gave us lots of information about things to see and do.

The English hosts are wonderful people- interesting, helpful, friendly, gracious. Room was bright, clean, comfortable, newly furnished. Bathroom new. Location was quiet and a few minutes walk from medieval Chinon. Great dinner prepared by chef and host, served on the patio. Difficult to fault.

We’d find it difficult to fault. We would love to return.
