Saint Georges Hotel & Spa

We were traveling by train and Chalon sur Saone was just an overnight stop. The hotel was super close to the station which helped greatly given we had multiple bags and a dog. The rooms were really modern and clean and everything thought through for a comfortable stay. It was also probably the quietest room I’ve ever stayed in. We didn’t hear any noise at all. There are restaurants, cafés and shops all around. We found the town very charming.

The breakfast buffet is located in two small rooms adjacent to the breakfast room which are really tight and all the people trying to get their breakfast crammed in. It was quite stressful and there was a lot if queueing. Perhaps they could put the coffee machine in a different place to separate people getting food from those getting drinks Nd thereby reduce the crowd in the buffet space?

A very well appointed hotel with a secure car park conveniently located close to the city centre & Soane river. The hotel is near to the railway station but don't let that put you off, it's nice and quiet with no train noise. I was traveling alone so the room facilities were fine for 1 night. I had a lovely walk around the city/down to the river and found plenty of choice for places to eat

No criticisms, good breakfast & check-in/out. There's a spa which I didn't use so can't comment but the treatments looked nice if you were there for 2+ days. I was just an overnight on my return to the UK from Italy

This was an overnight stop as expected. On arrival we were able to get a coffee from the receptionist but nothing else was available and there were no facilities in the room. The hotel was not busy but we were given a room at the end of a long corridor and up a short flight of stairs, maybe this was because we were a genius booking. Parking was good and private, so often now we find that hotels say they have parking and we find it is not their own private parking. This is winter so the restaurant was very quiet but there were plenty of staff and the food was fine.

As I said above we could have been given a better situated room, without such a long walk as we could see that the hotel was not busy.

The room was small but comfortable and had a modern bathroom. The breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was under cover parking for bikes (but not in a locked garage).

There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. There was no view from the room either. The room window overlooked a sort of terrace with a high wall and some planter boxes with wilted plants in them.

room was pretty small, sauna etc working hours quite short, so you either dedicate your time to sauna or dinner, can’t cover both, breakfast really not good - no vegetables, cappuccino is rather hot chocolate, cold pancakes, eggs with flour or smth that is not tasty, no tea/coffee in the room

The hotel was within walking distance from the train station. It was also a pleasant walk to the river for our cruise. L’abc restaurant across the road was excellent. My husband enjoyed a gluten free meal. The hotel was clean and our room spacious. The only issue was the safe didn’t work which we reported to reception.

The location was good and there was free parking. The bed was comfortable.

We were on the fourth floor in what seemed like an attic room with only a sky light window. Lift only went to 3rd floor. The breakfast was ok but the self service area was very cramped and we didn’t enjoy the scrambled egg.

Station location easy to find and great base, secure parking at the (back) door, friendly welcome, big room, surprisingly good restaurant, nice breakfast ...

Not much really, very little soundproofing through walls and between floors - kids above sounded like a herd of wildebeest from before 0600 ...

Great hotel next to the train station in Chalon-sur-Saone with private parking. Warm welcome at reception. Our room on 2nd floor was spacious with a modern bathroom. Very quiet. We enjoyed the self-guided tour around Chalon (map available at the tourist office on the riverside). Spa is wonderful.

It was a good central place, nice large room with a big bathroom with a huge shower. Breakfast was very good with plenty to eat and drink.

Was suppose to be a spa hotel but nobody advised us of where the spa was or even if we were allowed to use it?
