Hôtel Renaissance

Very beautiful property. Rooms were huge and very comfy with air conditioning. We paid for valet parking as streets narrow and hard to find a space. Valet parking was excellent service, no problem at all. Staff and the manager were all lovely and very helpful, very pleased with our choice of accommodation and would stay again. There were 4 of us and we had 2 deluxe suites . We went out for a meal and found lots of bars and restaurants in a nearby square within walking distance

Hotel is very well located and the staff in particular are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Valet parking works well and is very secure. Castres is an interesting town and we would recommend the Creperie du Coin for excellent savoury and dessert crepes. We also had good meals at O Victoria and Bistro des Saveurs and would recommend both.

Size of the room but that was probably our fault for not taking more notice of the room options when we booked.

Very central, just meters away from the main square. The room was very big and felt like a miniature museum with all the decorations. Very friendly and helpful staff. And breakfast was amazing. The choice, especially cheese variety, was incredible and unlike many other hotels was replenished immediately. I think the towels were the softest I ever had in any hotel.

This is not really a negative point, but worth mentioning. One can't really drive up to the hotel and the public parking which is very close to the hotel apparently always shows as full up, although that is not the case. We parked just across the street from the public parking free of charge.

Marvellous situation, splendid decor and incredible staff. The suite was splendidly spacious and opulently decorated. The bed comfortable. and both tea and coffee making available. The valet parking was efficient and staff went the extra mile to be helpful

The Da Vinci double room that we were originally shown to was unbelievable akward and uncomfortable. The oversized double bed occupied nearly all of the available and despite there being little or no free standing furniture we could not move around with ease. And we are both quite small 5'2" and 5' 10" respectively and both of a slim build Only one available socket, no tea or coffee making facilities and restricted space in bathroom. In all fairness however as soon as we complained we were reallocated to a wonderful suite

This hotel’s excellent location is matched only by the warmth of the management and staff. The suite room was superb in decor with comfortable stylish bed and good shower. Good inexpensive dinner and breakfast. Hotel is very centrally located which means using a car park a short distance away but parking cost of €3 per day for secure parking is inexpensive and close by. Town is vibrant and interesting with lots to appeal. Next time we will stay longer.

Parking (dealt with in review). It isn’t a big problem and resolving it will involve demolishing major monuments (so not going to happen)

Quirky different with individual rooms. The people could not have done more for us and were so nice and friendly. The valet parking was worth it, able to park up very close by and unload cases. The car was there and waiting the next day at time agreed. Great location close to the centre plaza. Would definitely stay there again.

There was no lift but the proprietor carried our heavy cases up to the room. He told us to leave them in the room when we checked out and they were there waiting for us when we got back from a walk round town.

I found the description of this hotel so interesting that I decided to go out of my way to stay here instead of continuing on to Carcassone. I had a huge room in Renaissance style with so many features and special ornamentation from that era. It was like spending the night in a museum of decorative arts. The hotel staff speak perfect English and we're kind enough to bring my bags to the room. The location is easy to find with GPS. It's not a very large city and there's plenty of free parking within convenient walking distance although the hotel does offer valet parking for a fee. This overnight was one of the highlights of my trip.

A first class experience in a truly uniquely furnished ancient building. Excellent staff and speedy Wi-Fi too. If you get the chance to stay here you definitely should even if it’s a few euros more as the whole experience is just superb. Themed rooms from days gone by are really special. I’ve been travelling for 2 months now and this is the best and quirkiest hotel I’ve stayed in.

The location was great for moving around the town of Castres. The hotel staff were very polite, friendly and helpful, which is always a relief when trying to communicate in another language. Breakfast was typically continental buffet with many choices. The room was very quiet which we wanted.

We were expecting a safe in our room and there wasn't one, although the staff were willing to put items in the safe at reception.

Lovely old hotel , well modernised. Check in staff spoke limited English but was very friendly. Mix up with double bed vs twin , sorted immediately with a room swap. Able to use owner garage at side of hotel to fit in 2 motorbikes Good bar in hotel and Hotel placed close to loads of restuarants
