Hôtel Catalpa

Nice looking hotel with very friendly staff. The location is very good - close to the lake (5 min walk to the public beach) and 15 min walk to the old city centre. Good wi-fi. Amenities in the room looked pretty new.

The size of the room is a bit small, but it was ok for us. Soundproofing in the room was not good, you can hear all kinds of sounds from the nearby and above rooms. Paid parking is not quite secure - it is an open space behind the hotel secured just with a barrier bar. Basic breakfast is a bit pricy - 30 eur for 2 people.

This was our 4th night stopover on our drive from Eurotunnel to Arles in the South of France. Hotel was a good family run establishment. Friendly & helpful staff. The adjacent ground level car park was good and the space we asked to reserve was there for us. The buffet breakfast was good too

The hotel is located a 25 to 30 minute walk away from the centre but very pleasant nonetheless through a park and along the waterfront. I don't think driving in Annecy is particularly easy

Everything was very good, apart from one thing. My crepe was excellent.

The bathroom basin had no plug; the water runs to waste. If you believe that water should not be wasted, then encouraging people to do so is a very bad idea. In addition if you want a bowl of water, to shave, rinse your face, do some clothes washing, you have to find way to block the plug hole. I unscrewed the fixed filter over the hole and used a universal plug which by chance I had with me. Never thought I would need it in Europe!!

Catalpa was great value for money. The staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful.

The only thing that would have improved it was was an external area to sit. However, due to location I am not sure this would be possible.

Small, intimate hotel 15 minute walk from the old town. Offstreet parking facility very welcome. Reception staff friendly enough but they need to be better informed of nearby restaurants, as the hotel restaurant was closed during our one night stay. Breakfast however was, of course, available, which was excellent.

It was a pity the restaurant was closed.

The location, the friendliness of all the staff without exception, the cleanliness and the super comfy beds. Also the fact that you are dog friendly. Breakfast was great too.

There's really not a lot to dislike about the hotel Catalpa - perhaps a larger, more modern lift could be an improvement, otherwise everything exceeded our expectations, thank you!

Large clean room, parking.

Breakfast buffet did not have many selections and was very basic. Bathroom only had a tub, no standing shower, which wastes a lot of water. Only one electrical outlet made charging our phones, etc., very inconvenient. No amenities in the bathroom such as moisturiser.

Excellent hotel, great location and facilities.

A massive centipede in my bathroom upon arrival - but the lady at the reception removed it for me and I didn't see any more of them. Made me feel quite uncomfortable though as I've never seen anything of this size before.

Not far from town centre, 15 minute beautiful walk by the lake. Great parking if you paid. Staff very friendly. Room lovely. A heated towel rail was a bonus after we got soaked in a thunderstorm.

The carpet in the room was very badly stained but otherwise was a great room.

Very nice, clean and comfortable hotel in a good location , within walking distance to the old town area. The hotel offered parking, which we were happy to use. We enjoyed a nice dinner at the restaurant, although there was a limited menu that evening. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
