The best place to stay in Quito! Mario and Blanca are great people, very kind and helpful. Very hospitable. We were staying four nights at this wonderful place. The rooms are very clean and authentic. Location on the best spot (old town).

Breakfast was outstanding! The breakfast was made fresh when we arrived downstairs and it always had granola, fresh tropical fruits, yogurt, fresh brewed coffee or tea, choice of eggs and some type of bread (croissants, rolls or toast), plus fresh juice. Mario and Blanca made us feel like family and were very attentive readily calling for taxis, recommending amazing restaurants (Somos was an outstanding restaurant), and giving us hints about safety around Quito. The rooms were beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and a little delicious chocolate with a fresh bottle of water awaited us each day. Beds were very comfortable with great pillows and linens. Fresh filtered water was available in the lobby during the day. We adore Mario and Blanca and staff and would stay there again in a heart beat.

Not one thing . . . except maybe that we had to leave!

A family-run hotel in a historic townhouse with six spacious and beautifully outfitted guest rooms, just a few mins' walk from the Plaza de la Independencia (the heart of old Quito), Casa El Edén was a no-brainer for a four-night stay on my first-ever visit to Ecuador. Owners Mario and Blanca were exceedingly gracious: offering thoughtful recommendations on what to see, where to eat and how to stay safe; preparing breakfasts to our personal tastes; even organising for a local lavanderia to collect and drop off our laundry so we could get our clothes cleaned at very reasonable prices. On our last day we had to check out at the ungodly hour of 4am to catch an early flight, and Mario insisted on being there to send us off and help us get our bags into our airport taxi, though we hadn't expected it at all. Thank you Mario and Blanca for a wonderful stay. It would be our pleasure to return to Casa El Edén on future visits to Quito and we will recommend your hotel warmly to all our friends.

The hotel was in a perfect location for walking all over the Centro Historico and on Sunday to two parks where a lot was also going on. It was easy to get taxis in the area for excursions farther afield and the hotel was great about ordering taxis for us if we needed them for something specific. In general, Mario and the staff were remarkably friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. The public spaces in the hotel are comfortable and add nicely to the comfort of the rooms. The photos of old Quito are very interesting and informative. The building itself is lovingly restored.

Can't really think of anything I didn't like.

We just arrived at Quito before our flight to Galapagos and are staying at the gorgeous Casa El Eden. Just dropping by here to gush about what an amazing place this is, and to recommend this place if you are planning your Galapagos trip and have a stop in Quito. 😊 Both my partner and I travel tons and we both agreed this is possibly the most charming and best place we’ve stayed in. We are so in love with this place. 😍 Location is great and super central, we’ve been able to walk to most places we want to. It also feels safe in this area. Every corner feels very homely, thoughtfully and classily designed and extremely clean. (To the point where I’m walking around the hotel barefooted 😄) The owners Mario and Blanca are also the most thoughtful, kind and generous hosts we’ve ever had, and we really can’t stop singing praises about them. And did I mention that they have a roof top terrace with a great view? 😍

Literally nothing. It feels rather safe around the area during the day but I’d still advise taking a cab in the evening everywhere.

Literally everything! Mario and Blanca were super hosts even before meeting them! They have arranged for us the transfer to the hotel from the airport (which we could pay by card to them directly), we were picked up at the arrivals by Pablo, who was really friendly and nice. Mario and Blanca gave us a lot of useful recommendations and suggestions for visiting the city and, most importantly, were extremely friendly and careful with us. The breakfast was delicious. The hotel is a wonderful colonial house with a nice touch of modern style in the bedrooms, located in the hearth of Quito’s historical center. There is a cute terrace on the top floor as well. For the day of our departure they kept our bags after our checkout.

Nothing!

beautiful small boutique family-run hotel. The owners Blanca, Mario and their son Daniel were fantastic and carrying hosts. The room we stayed at was spacious, beautifully furnished and comfortable with a separate bathroom with a bathtub. The location is perfect for exploring the Old Town - walking distance to all the major sights, landmarks and restaurants. After a day of exploring Quito and surroundings, we had a glass of wine from Mario’s private cellar on the rooftop with the stunning views of the city. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend Casa El Eden and would stay here again in the future!

Casa el Eden immediately felt like our home away from home in Quito. Our host, Mario, and his family are wonderful people and made us feel like part of the family. After our first night, we decided to cancel another accommodation and re-book a room at Casa el Eden for our outbound flight. Upon arriving at almost midnight (twice) Mario greeted us with a smile and welcomed us home. He also recommended a wonderful guide/driver for our trip to Banos. Breakfast is a 5-star experience. I can't say enough good things about our stay here. The accommodations are beautiful and comfortable. We look forward to returning.

It is a wonderful inn. The rooms are spacious and welcoming, Mario and Blanca and the staff were outstanding. Mario arranged our pickup from the airport with a private driver, Pablo. He was great. Mario also arranged our private tours for 2 days. We went to Mindo and the Cloud Forest and the other day to Otalvalo, Tabacundo, Cotacachi, etc. On both days our tour guides spoke excellent English and knew the areas very well. We even visited a family who weaves fabrics out of their home. We saw the old fashion looms that they used to make the fabric. Of course, we bought a few items from them. Mario has wines that you can buy and enjoy up on their terrace. We partook a few times. The wines are reasonable...$20 US$. We would gladly stay here again. When we left we felt like we were leaving family behind.

Beautiful property with the loveliest owners and a wonderful location in the Old Town. The property has been restored beautifully, with lots of stunning decor and touches, and our room was very comfortable. It's only a 5-minute or so walk to the Grande Plaza so it's very centrally located. We were also able to store our luggage for a few nights so we could travel just with just our small bags to the Amazon, even though we stayed at a different property after arriving back to Quito. Overall, a wonderful stay in a beautiful property. Thank you!
