super romantic hotel with a frog tour… its really worth to see that… you feel like at a safari and the hotel is directly in the jungle but anyway super clean

The staff was great. Very attentive and kind. Food was good at Basque as well. Josue gave a great night hike tour.

The newly renovated rooms looked amazing. The old rooms were not. Do not stay in rooms 3-4 or 7-10. they all need updated as soon as possible.

Great staff, facilities, food, location--a stone's throw from the La Fortuna waterfall, and close to the Mt. Arenal National Park. And since there are just 15 cabanas, guests have privacy, attention from the staff, and access to all amenities without limits

Guided birding walks on the grounds would be welcome.

From the moment you step in Tifakara, you feel the warm welcome from the staff and the beautiful atmosphere they create. This boutique hotel is located in La Fortuna area, close enough to the small center but still secluded enough to be private, with amazing views of the Arenal Volcano. We were in our Honeymoon, so we asked for a more private room and we got to experience a beautiful little cottage a bit far from the reception area, which was a delight. Room is small, but enough for a couple. The shower is designed to be semi-outdoor, so you can enjoy long baths surrounded by the forest. Bed is very comfortable and the nature sounds at night really make you feel like you are on a luxury camping experience. Even though the hotel is stunning, our experience was made even better because of the attentive staff. They make sure you always feel welcomed, without being too pushy. They all have a smile on their faces and you can feel the happy environment. We were also lucky enough to spot a sloth that was sleeping on a tree during our stay and the staff also makes sure you can spot different animals during your time there. The included breakfast was also delicious, there are various options so it doesn't get repetitive even in a long stay. Products are fresh, plating is set beautifully and it was one of the highlights of our trip. This was undeniably one of the best hotels we've ever stayed and I recommend it to anyone.

Not only did the property exceed our expectations, but the staff was incredibly responsive and accommodating. The outdoor showers and private balconies were a perfect way to enjoy the tranquility of the rain forest. The evening frog walk was absolutely amazing! Before we arrived, the staff was quick with responding to emails when I had questions or needed advice. Our son was meeting us at Tifakara and they arranged a car service for him. The flight was delayed several hours, changed airports, and arrived at the original airport 5 hours later. Tifakara tracked his flight the entire time, keeping us posted through texts and communication with the driver. Johnn and Mary both went above and beyond to keep this awful situation calm and reassuring. They sent the driver a dinner menu and had a fabulous dinner waiting when my son arrived! I can't thank them enough for their exceptional hospitality!

just amazing! there is no other ward to describe our experience. the staff was very polite and helpful, the apartment gorgeous and functional, the restaurant and the pool are just perfect. The cherry on the cake is that the apartment is exactly in the jungle and if you wake up early you can see a lot of animals. they have a frog sanctuary inside the complex and organize night tour. the staff was so good and Ector the waiter at the restaurant made our meals very special. i forgot to mention that there are so many excursions and things to do just 5 minutes away!

Perfect location just outside of La Fortuna - beautiful environment with private and quiet units surrounded by exquisitely manicured jungle gardens abundant with birds, monkeys and squirrels. Efficient and helpful reception, super friendly staff. The living unit was beautiful with all amenities and comforts as expected - outdoor shower a great surprise. Reception, restaurant and outdoor pool areas designed to be one with nature - perfect view of the volcano included. The breakfast menu is a highlight , take your time while observing the local great curassows enjoying their breakfast as well! Fortuna waterfall within walking distance, on the way back stop for a coffee at the local dog rescue centre. Regarding other off-site activities we went zip-lining, Arenal nature reserve walk, evening with meal at a hot spring facility, and a barber shop visit in Fortuna - according to my son, one of the best cuts he ever had!

We LOVED our stay at Tifakara and wished we could have stayed longer. It was a beautiful setting and the staff were incredibly helpful, kind, and ready with suggestions for amazing places to go (we learned about a restaurant we loved and an amazing hike). The night walk was so worth it to see frogs and other animals that are usually hiding, and during the daytime, some of the birds we saw just around the property rivaled some of the official birding tours we did! The breakfasts were also thorough, filling, and delicious, and there were very good vegetarian and gluten-free options. Would love to go back to Tifakara!

Our room smelled a tiny bit like smoke (likely from a long time ago as it's a smoke-free property).

The staff is beyond all expectations!! Josue (supervisor) was at our service at all times. The nicest service I have ever received at any Hotel in the world that I have traveled. When we arrived John (front desk) greeted us and we mentioned we had a warning sign came on our car. He immediately took our car information and called enterprise and spent two hours on the phone and had them come check our car for us the next morning.  The staff and service was impeccable. The grounds of the hotel was absolutely beautiful. We booked a room number six online and we had an incredible view of the volcano and the pool area. They booked really fun excursions for us. The night tour of the nocturnal animals was a very nice surprise. It was part of the hotel with no charge and learn so much and got to see all different kinds of frogs and critters. I highly recommend the tour. The restaurant was the best restaurant in town. The breakfast that was included was a wonderful full menu. If I can give them 10 stars, I would!!!!! We would we will be back. Steven the waiter was so kind and was right there at our service at all times. Josue the supervisor checked in to always make sure we were happy and everything was exceptional. .
