Hotel Cartagena Royal Inn

From the street it doesn’t look as nice as it turned out to be. The shower was wonderful. The bed and linens comfortable. It was a “smart” room so everything could be controlled with the remote. The roof top bar/restaurant was very pleasant. The breakfast options were plentiful and varied. Staff was pleasant and some spoke English. It was a good value.

Although not bad, the location was a bit from the center; however, everything was still within walking distance

Great location - walking distance to everything including Getsamanie. Good breakfast with a few options to choose from each day (more than eggs + toast). Staff friendly and very helpful. One day I was stepping out for dinner and it was raining so the lady at reception gave me an umbrella to use!

There was construction (jack hammering) during my stay. This didn't bother me as I was out for most of the day site seeing but I felt the hotel should still mention it as it could affect other guests. I accepted the offer for an airport transfer but the taxi was late. In fact everyone had left the airport and I was the only person waiting. I called the hotel 10 times while I was waiting but no one answered. The hotel taxi showed up just as I was getting into an airport yellow taxi.

My wife and I stayed here on two separate occasions during our trip to Cartagena. The first night was in a room with a Queen bed and a balcony overlooking the street and the second visit was in a off street room with a King bed. Both rooms had air conditioning units that worked great and comfortable beds but the King room was DEFINITELY more comfortable with a pillow top mattress and much less street noise then the queen room. I recommend this facility and would stay here again on future trips.

Breakfast was good but service was slow. No elevator.

location, in the heart of the old town, everything is around, nearly 500 meters from the port , from where goes boats in different island

the rooms which window does not goes to the city side , backside rooms has balcony which looks in the yard and rooms window goes on the balcony and on the balcony walk people, so you can not open this window almost room without window, form me its a problem , if for someone it is not problem everything else is okey .

What a good place to have a restful week, really close to the historical city, the restaurant is located in the fourth floor it is small but perfect for the hotel, the chef Alexander really professional he works by himself and makes great dishes, we enjoyed every single plate

I would say the price could be a bit less expensive but I guess it was due to the time when it was booked in general everything was according to what we expected

We had to make last-minute changes to our plans and add an extra night before our original reservation. The staff were able to get us in the same room, which made our stay much nicer. This hotel is in the middle of the walled city, so the location is excellent. Reception is on the first floor and rooms are on the second and third floors with an open courtyard in the middle. Breakfast is served on the fourth floor rooftop. We had drinks (water and beer) our first night up there. It has some nice views. We did not use the hot tub, but it looked very inviting. Staff were very friendly as we needed to print paperwork for travel. I sent documents via WhatsApp and they printed them for us. They also contacted a doctor to come to our room to collect samples for a COVID test (required to return to the USA). All of this made this a great choice. Staff were very flexible as our plans changed last minute and that was great appreciated.

This was not an issue for us, but there is no elevator, so be mindful of that. It's only four floors total and I believe they will bring you breakfast to the room (but we preferred to be on the roof). Breakfast you need order ahead of time. We did not do this, but the staff was GREAT and took our order with no fuss. These aren't really "did not like" items, but more things to be aware of. I originally booked this as a simple one-night only room, but we ended up staying two whole days and it was a great value for a good hotel.

Great place and a high-tech smart room. Roof Top Terrace was covered and a great place to work. Breakfast can be delivered to the room or eaten on the Roof Top Terrace. Staff at the front desk were so nice and funny. Great...great place...

They are strict with the number of guests that can come into the hotel, which is based on your reservation.

Rooftop was pleasant, comfortable rooms, good breakfast options, friendly staff and walking distance to to sightseeing locations, restaurants and stores.

They forgot to prepare breakfast to go for one of our tours but managed to rice us something anyways. There was somebody being loudly drunk during one of the nights which was disturbing, but it’s not the hotels fault.

It was clean , modern and in a central location. The room was spacious and bright. The staff were pleasant and helpful, they spoke just enough English to balance out our zero Spanish.

My one complaint was the bed sheet was bobbly, but it might have been only my bed as my friends didn’t have that issue with their sheet.

Comfortable rooms. We stayed for 1 night only. it is close to local amenities on a busy street (but not too busy that you can’t sleep at night). Staff was helpful and breakfast was great.

Our room was located near a generator or loud fan - it wasn’t a big deal for us but if you’re a light sleeper, this may bother you.
