Sleeping Giant BNB

I had one of the units with a twin bed and it was a perfect, affordable little set up for my short trip! I was out and about most of the time I was in Thunder Bay, so I didn't spend a lot of time in my unit besides sleeping and showering, and it was just what I needed for my stay! The mattress and bedding were both so comfy! Made it super easy to fall asleep! Definitely going to recommend Sleeping Giant BNB to anyone I know who is traveling up to Thunder Bay!

We liked the cleanliness of this accommodation, the comfortable bed and great shower. also, the fact that there was an openable window which let fresh air in. The location in the center of Port Arthur downtown and the views of the Sleeping Giant were a bonus to our stay. there are several restaurants and cafes around this property.

We have difficulty climbing stairs, fewer stairs would have been better. However, we lucked out on our arrival as a complete stranger helped us lug our staff upstairs. On our departure the manager, Michel help us carry our stuff downstairs, so the two flights of steps did not matter so much.

very clean and very comfortable. The towels were soft and the amenities were as advertised by booking.com

Booking.com said there was off street parking. Booking.com misguided me with another property sleeping giant had that does have off street parking. I got a parking ticket as a result. Booking.com did not make it clear that this was self serving with no elevator and that I had to haul my bags up two flights of stairs. Booking.com misrepresented this and didn't mention it at all. the Location was not quiet, as requested, because it is downtown and street noise, vehicles revving loud engines after midnight was not great.

Self check in was super efficient. The host was very easy to communicate with and helpful. Room was basic while being very clean, quiet, and comfortable. For a short business trip to Thunder Bay, it worked out well but has limited storage or work area for a longer stay. Close to a good selection of restaurants and waterfront is very pretty. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely recommend.

For a longer business stay a small dresser, iron and iron board would be a nice touch. Also, there are limited plugs for laptop and cell phone charger

the location was perfect. The bed was very comfortable I was worried about the parking but there was no issue with street parking at all. not sure if that was because we stayed during the weekend when street parking is free The coffee shop on the street level was very good. Outstanding coffee. Appreciated the $10 off breakfast coupon.

A bit noisy. It wasn’t horrible just a bit more hall noise that a hotel. Would have liked to been able to plug my phone in on my nightstand table so I could use my earplugs for white noise.

Breakfast was good and convenient. The 4 room suite was lovely.

Beds were to soft and seemed old. Bathroom toilet was very small and too low. a heavy person could not fit inside the bathroom toilet walls. And the noise from the street and being in the corner room facing the street was very loud! And the flight of stairs for carrying up our suitcases was difficult for us as senior citizens.

Location to restaurants, the lake and nightlife was excellent. The place was clean, safe and very affordable.

The shower had low water pressure. the building's heating was centrally controlled and we found it cool to hang out in but good for sleeping. (We couldn't control changing it so even though the owner offered to turn up the heat we didn't ask him because it would be too warm for sleeping. )

No lift had to carry heavy suitcases up stairs

very clean, new facilities, good shower bathroom facilities.

it is a self registration facility, and I realize that makes it less expensive because you don’t have a person on location, but it often makes it stressful when you’re first there, trying to figure out how to access the room.
